Plus size - nursing tanks?

I didn't see a recent Plus Size check in, or I would have posted in there for board organization sake...

But my question - anyone find plus size nursing tanks they love? Kindred Bravely makes GORGEOUS nursing-wear, but they don't do plus size.

Latched Mama has some nice looking tshirts, but I'd love something that's going to be supportive enough as a sleep layer/lounging at home tank (without wearing a bra as well).

ETA: While we're talking about it... what about large chest/plus size nursing bras you love?

Re: Plus size - nursing tanks?

  • Kindred Bravely has a night nursing bra I've been looking at that's only $24 and does go up higher than their other bras. I'm a 38H right now and there are sizes. Other than that... I've been struggling to find something that I think will work. I picked up one nursing tank at motherhood when it was on clearance (actually got it in the store!) But I don't think it will be supportive...great for home, not so great for anywhere else. I'd love to hear what people have found.
  • I got this bra in a couple of colors off Amazon and it's been amazingly comfortable.

  • I've heard really great things about the Elomi nursing bras, both the style with underwire and the style without. Their normal bras are my absolute favorites as a 38F, so I'm going to give those a try first.

As for nursing tanks, I honestly have no idea and am also looking forward to suggestions!

In my opinion bravado doesn't offer large enough cup sizes, but they do offer plus size in some things up to a 40F/G

Personally, I used glamourmom full bust tanks, but they only offer up to an xl, but they are designed for maternity wear, so they are roomy and go up to a 44-48 G-I. I lived in these things for the first few months.

This style is available in xxl:

I picked up one of these last week, and just ordered a second one today. The support isn't AWESOME, but it should be plenty comfortable for wearing around the house.

  • If you don't find some you like....I have heard that nordstroms will take a regular bra and modify it to be a nursing bra...I wonder if they would do the same thing with a tank you liked?

  • Here is just one, but if you can find a bra you like, just make some tanks.

    https://livinglifeinthecity.wordpress.com/2013/10/04/diy-nursing-tanks/

Other versions of this hack have a button snap or even a nursing hook closure. Lots to find on pinterest.

And yes @BecauseLove you can get a bra converted to a nursing bra at nordstroms. There are also diy tips on pinterest. I've never done either of these, but would consider it this time.
  • My only bra that fits is dirty, so since I have to go out in public, I'm wearing my full bust glamourmom nursing tank. Posting a photo so you can get an idea of the fit and support. This is me currently 36G. It is really long on me, because I'm only 5'2. I'm 180lbs and can fit into the medium while 30 weeks pregnant, but I think they run larger than sized. All of my other maternity wear is L-XL.
