WTF Wednesday 7/19/17

It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*

Re: WTF Wednesday 7/19/17

  • WTF to the office staff at my OB office this morning.
Like the doctors, hate the other staff.

I am always having issues scheduling appointments. They cannot seem to understand you are supposed to rotate through every OB since you don't know who you will deliver with. The schedule me with the same one EVERY SINGLE TIME and I have to remind them. They were the ones that originally told me that is how it should work!!! Grrrr.. Obviously not a big issue, just annoying me .

  • I hate humidity. Thick curly hair and humidity do not mix and after 2 weeks of high temps and humidity I am over it.

You would think if you were a contractor wishing to sell services, if people called you on the phone asking you to come pay you to do work....you'd maybe at least call back? I have a half-demolished living room and lots of work to be done, and money to spend on this - plus a November deadline - but I cannot get anyone into my house, or even to return my phone calls. And these are contractors that are supposed to be A rated on Angie's List. I want my house livable by the time the baby gets here, and I don't think that's too much to ask.

  • DS keeps getting up at night.  He's 6.  After getting up at 1 and 3, I told him he needed to stay in bed until it was time to get up and that I wasn't taking him back to his room next time.  He could go back to his room on his own.  Lo and behold, 5 rolls around and he starts crying beside my bed because "he can't sleep without his music on but he's too tired to turn on his music."  Kid, if you were that tired, you wouldn't need your music.  If you needed music bad enough, you'd take the 5 literal seconds it takes to turn it on.  Then, he stood there and whined until my alarm went off at 5:20...sleep child!

DS1 is 7.  DD is 1.  DS2 is coming in late April.

  • I am sitting in my cube listening to my co-workers discuss what project I should work on tomorrow. One asked if I should be included in the discussion and another said they were being "considerate" ensuring that whichever project isn't too much for me (we work in water quality and biological sampling). Ultimately 4 people  just decided what I am doing tomorrow after I discussed my abilities/limitations with my supervisor and our team lead, neither of which were part of the conversation. WTF.

And WTF to me for not speaking up for myself because I didn't want them to know I was eavesdropping, they were one cube over!

@sarahunderthesea wow I am so sorry this happen to you. Did you stand up and tell them you can hear them? I do not understand why people have to be so rude. I think you should and talk to them and see why they don't they ask you what you are able to do.

@abby7 I feel like this happens to me all the time! We waited 2 weeks to get an estimate for a new A/C. Really??  The economy must be good because nobody wants our money!

@mariposa_767s my 4 yo has been waking up sometimes multiple times a night and it's driving me crazy. Then she wakes up early and is crabby all day. This needs to go away before baby gets here. I don't know how we will deal with 2 keeping us up all night. hope everyone gets some rest tonight!!

My WTF is that there was a case of chicken pox at DD's daycare...not in her room but the room across the hall. I never had CP as a kid and thought I got the vaccine as an adult, but at the start of my pregnancy the midwife had my titres checked and turns out I'm at risk if I come into contact with an infected person. It's highly unlikely that I had exposure with this child but the incubation is 3 weeks prior to the pox becoming visible. I just didn't think it was common enough anymore to be concerned but apparently I was wrong.
  • @JDW0325 my schedulers at the midwives are supposed to rotate me and they haven't been. I need to speak up about it next time. I'm halfway through and have only met 2 of the 8 midwives!!
  • @sarahunderthesea that is totally messed up. I'm so sorry that happened to you. They need to check themselves.
  • WTF my body. I feel so terrible right now. Everything hurts and now they are saying my flight is delayed. Noooooo

  • Wtf to my hip/low back/pelvis.  I was doing OK yesterday, didn't feel like my usual death after 2 shifts. Before dinner I get up and one side feels off to where lifting that leg is hard. Then one leg is colder than the other. This morning I couldn't hardly walk to the bathroom because lifting a leg on its own wasn't going to happen. I had already called out of work last night but I feel like a freaking invalid. Everything else pregnancy wise is fine but I can't get relief from this.
  • WTF to the 18 month old sleep regression phase.  (Thank God it is the last regression phase for her.) My daughter used to sleep like an angel. Now, she wakes up multiple times during the night screaming ridiculously and all of a sudden she needs to be patted to sleep each night, which she has never done before. This has been going on for 3 weeks now. This 25 week preggo mama just needs a good night sleep or two or three!!
  • Mariposa, I feel your pain! My 5 year doesn't sleep through the night without meds, and just gets up at like 3 am or cannot sleep and is exhausted the next day. The pediatric sleep specialist agrees he won't tolerate a sleep studu, but as he grows a tolerance to various meds it gets harder. I had to give him something twice last night.
  • I am so sorry your flight is delayed the bull!! I do not know how you are traveling so much! @lancomechica2
