1. 28 weeks. Hello third trimester!!! 2. 16 inches tall (40.6 cm) and weighs about 2.5 lbs. (1.15 kg). 3. A little bit out of breath every now and then, but other than that, feeling excellent! 4. Monthly OB appt. on Friday. 5. Closed and moved into our first home this weekend! We also started our Lamaze classes last Tuesday. 6. Almost everything except baby clothes. Since we were in the process of getting our new house, we put all the baby buying on hold. Will start with buying everything this week!
Aaww your DH left for deployment... Must be so hard to go through this while you're expecting your bundle of love. Will he be out for a long time? I hope he's back with you when the baby comes. Big hugs!
@kncollins09 so sorry for the deployment. I looked at the list before I had my first and then after that not again until I could mark a lotta stuff off. It is overwhelming.
@cranburyposh yeah on buying a house and moving in. Try not to let the Lamaze class stress you out. Sometimes they do and sometimes they have the opposite effect.
Woowhoo to to both of you for getting things ready!
@asickles98 Thanks!!! You can imagine how happy we are about the house, but the whole packing and moving in/out has gotten us completely drained! Tonight we go to our Lamaze classes and I'm dreading going! This is our 2nd class so I'm curious to see how it goes from now on since the instructor said we will be on the floor today. Did you have a bad experience? Will def remember your advice!
@kncollins09 Oh my... That's really tough!!! I admire you both for enduring the deployment during the pregnancy and arrival. You gotta be a strong woman to deal with this on your own while he's serving our country, too many sacrifices made. My respect to you and him. Will he be able to see the delivery via webcam? I remember seeing something about that on the news a while ago - military staff able to be virtually present during the birth of their babies while in deployment.
@cranburyposh Thank you so much. This way is definitely not ideal but it was really important for us that he was there during most of our pregnancy. We are definitely going to try to video chat during the birth but nobody's video and below the waist LOL.
@cranburyposh We never took the class. At the time that our oldest was born (the 7 year old) we couldn't fit it into our schedule. When I talked to my doctor about being worried about missing it he said that the baby will come out if I went to the class or skipped it. Looking back, I am grateful that we missed it. I would have stressed out if we didn't follow the rules and how we were suppose to do it.
@kncollins09 webcamming it is a great idea! That way he is still there. Having him here for most of the pregnancy was pretty cool though. If you need to vent or chat feel free to message me.
Just a FYI ladies we started a new facebook group that is available to everyone in october. Here is the link if you want to join. It is set to secret but it will be very laid back and not based on how active you are.
@kncollins09 Yeah, I bet! Really glad to hear that you're gonna try to do the birth via cam so he can also be part of it! All the best.
@asickles98 Oh I thought you had a bad experience with the class that caused you to be stressed out. We're actually enjoying the classes a lot, there's tons of great information and hands-on practice with pain management exercises that we're getting. In Lamaze there are no "rules to follow", everyone is different - so you use whatever tools and technique works best for you out of everything that you're thought. Yeah, your OB was right to tell you that either way; whether you attend the classes or not, your body is naturally designed to go into labor and childbirth, and your baby will come out as long as you push lol! But since I want an all natural unmedicated birth (and this one is my first birth ever), enrolling into it was ideal and much needed for me and my DH to get as much as information as possible and shoot for a good experience. Glad everything went well with your births!!!
