January 2018 Moms

Hello :)

So...i found out i was pregnant in April with my first baby. It was a shock to the system at first as the protection that i was using failed! Me and my boyfriend have been together for three and a half years now. Im due to begin uni in september and my baby is due on the 2nd of january. I have had alot of doubts from many people...some including my own family. If you want to make something work then it will. I believe that every baby is a blessing and everything happens for a reason! I love my little bump of love. I may only be turning 20 this december but that does not mean i am less capable than anyone else....good luck to everyone xxx

Re: Hello :)

  • I was 22 when my unplanned son came along. It's not easy, and it'll strain a relationship like you wouldn't believe -- but it is in no way impossible to manage. It does significantly change the way you interface with people your own age.

I don't know where you're located ("uni" impies UK to me), but I'd start looking into if your school/area offers any childcare right now, and getting that in order. Our local university does, but the wait list is a long time.

  • Hello, @saff2018, and welcome! Make sure you head over to the pinned threads and introduce yourself there if you haven't done so already. If you snoop around the board a but, you'll get a good idea of where to post, so hopefully you will stick around :) I totally don't think being 20 makes you less capable. If anything, you'll have more energy to chase after your LO when he/she is a toddler! It's hard to tune out the negative feedback others can give. My first was an "accident" with my now husband (not then), and I think it took a bit for some of my family to get on board. But everyone comes around when they get those newborn snuggles! FX to you!
