Most of us probably shared some in the intro thread, but I thought it would be nice to have it all in one place!
What's your day job?
Did you go to school for it?
What does your SO do?
Which one of you makes more money?
What would be your dream job? (If not already in it!)
Re: What do you and your SO do?
I was a classroom teacher for 7 years. I taught several ages and subjects, but I taught 6th Grade Social Studies the most. When my son was born I switched to subbing at my school, which ended up being a part time permanent sub job teaching two 9th grade World Geo classes. I just started teaching English to students in China online and I will be subbing once a week at my old job.
Did you go to school for it?
Yes, I went to school for 4-8 Social Studies education.
What does your SO do?
He is a multimedia designer and programmer, specializing in email coding and design. He is contracting with a big bank right now.
Which one of you makes more money?
Him, obviously!
What would be your dream job? (If not already in it!)
I would love to be an education coordinator at a local (Dallas) museum and create curriculum and resources for teachers to use in the classroom.
What's your day job?
I am a teacher. This fall I will be teaching kindergarten. This year will be my 14th year. In the past I have taught K, 1 and 2.
Did you go to school for it?
Yep, I am certified K-6 and I am currently in grad school for it.
What does your SO do?
Accounting
Which one of you makes more money?
DH
What would be your dream job? (If not already in it!)
I wish I could be a stay at home mom but since I can't be teaching is the next best thing.
Did you go to school for it? No! I have a degree in psychology.
What does your SO do? My DH works for the same company and he is a geo-analyist. He does all the work to create the proposals that the insurance agents bring to the employers to try and sell the business. He sits right around the corner for me and its pretty nice
Which one of you makes more money? DH makes a bit more in his day job, and a bunch more with all jobs combined
What would be your dream job? (If not already in it!) I always wanted to be a hair stylist
Currently a stay at home mom to my 2yo. I maybe taking in another kid in the next few weeks. Before C I was a nurse in urgent care. I had my son and relieved I didn't want to go back into healthcare, I just finished my teaching associates and plan to go back for my bachelors in early childhood.
Did you go to school for it?
I kind of already awnsered that lol but yes
What does your SO do?
Software architect for a veterans morgage company
Which one of you makes more money?
DH obviously
What would be your dream job? (If not already in it!)
I've always wanted to be a chef or pastry chef.

What's your day job? I'm currently a bank teller as a credit union. I've been applying for a couple of other jobs though, so who knows what I'll be doing in the coming weeks. Prior to this, I had been a retail manager for about 12 years.
Did you go to school for it? Nope. Didn't really go to school for anything. Just recently got an Associates of Science in Human Resources Management. Side note: My husband dropped out of high school.
What does your SO do? He is a... ready for this (I've been practicing) a Pre-Sales Engineer for a high-scale networking solutions company. In laymens terms: if a large business was to update their network, they call MH's company and he partners with the sales guy to basically "design" what the company needs for their system.
Which one of you makes more money? MH by a long shot.
What would be your dream job? (If not already in it!) It sounds super dorky, but I always had a fantasy about being a librarian. In reality, I'd love to be a regional sales trainer for a retail company (a position that really doesn't exist how I want it to).

What is your day job?
I'm a teacher. I've taught 1st-3rd grades with most of my 11 years in 2nd grade.
Did you go to school for it?
Yep, my undergraduate degree is in early childhood education and my masters degree is in education with a concentration in math and reading.
What does your SO do?
MH is a paramedic/firefighter for our county. With a 2yo at home it's nice to have a paramedic in the house!
Which one of you makes more money?
Techically I do; however, DH has been working a ton of OT. He's already made his yearly salary. He'll make more if the trend continues.
What would be your dream job? I'm not really sure. I think I'd like to work part time.
@glitzandglitter aw thanks! You folks have all been so supportive!
I'm amazed at the amount of teachers we have in this group! That's gotta be so tough but so rewarding!

And like many of you, I totally wish part time work were a more popular thing! I would love to work 4 days a week. Oh, well! Maybe one day it'll become more of a thing.
What's your day job?
I'm a story producer for unscripted television (reality tv!) On small networks, like YouTubeRed, I work as a full story producer but on bigger networks (where I work most of the time) I'm still at the associate producer level but suuuuuper close to moving up, so I'm hoping to get my first full story producer credit in October when I start my next show. I mostly work on NBC shows.
Did you go to school for it?
Yep! I studied film and television production at USC and it was super fun. We didn't have any reality tv programs back then, but I work on the same editing system I worked on in college and a lot of the basics still apply.
What does your SO do?
He works in marketing and events for a craft beer brewery.
Which one of you makes more money?
I do, but my husband has health insurance, a 401k and all that fancy stuff I don't have, so it about breaks even.
What would be your dream job? (If not already in it!)
After many years of dismissing it as a pipe dream or something only well connected, rich people do, I finally started writing screenplays again a couple of years ago and I hope to transition to writing full time one day. I also write novels and short stories. My ideal situation would be waiting until whatever kids we have are school age, moving to a low cost of living town where I wouldn't have to work and writing during the day while they're in school. We plan to try this in a few years, but I would need an agent and to have at least sold a couple of scripts before leaving LA. I also fantasize about starting my own media production company and making films, tv shows and news in flyover country, to increase media hubs outside of LA and NYC, but that one seems like a much more distant (and expensive) dream, haha.
What's your day job?
I work at Disney World, specifically at Animal Kingdom as an attractions hostess. If you want to get even more specific, I'm at It's Tough To Be A Bug at the Tree of Life.
Did you go to school for it?
Nope.
What does your SO do?
He also works for Disney, at the Polynesian as a food handler (basically a receiver who deals with storage of all food product for that resort). He's planning to transfer if his audition on Monday doesn't pan out.
Which one of you makes more money?
Until I went on leave, I did. Right now, we're not sure, because we actually don't know if I got a pay cut to take this transfer or if they kept my hourly rate the same (which I doubt, but it would be nice).
What would be your dream job? (If not already in it!)
Wedding cake team at the Grand Floridian's bakery. I was working pastry at a restaurant in Magic Kingdom when I was diagnosed with my back problem, so unless things progress to the point that I can go back in the kitchen, I'll be doing something else. I do love working for Disney, though.

What's your day job? I'm a mental health and substance abuse counselor, and I work in the walk-in clinic at an outpatient treatment center. Most of the time I do assessments - so when someone comes in to see us for the first time, we have to get a lot of info and figure out what type of care they need, then get them connected to that care, whether that's appointments at our center or somewhere else. The rest of the time I do crisis work. It all just depends on who walks in that day
Did you go to school for it? Yep, studied psychology in college then my graduate degree in counseling.
What does your SO do? He's a computer programmer. He does software development for a market research company.
Which one of you makes more money? Him!! There is not much money to be made in the public mental health system! Haha.
What would be your dream job? (If not already in it!) Like most counselors I'd love to be in independent practice. I'd like to eventually join up with a small group of other mental health practitioners and do my own thing - set my own hours, case load, and all that stuff. Ideally I think I'd do a mix of individual and group counseling.
Did you go to school for it? Kinda? I actually went to school to be an engineer, which I still use and probably got me my job. But I don't NEED to be an engineer to do my job if that makes sense. Most of the people in my position go to school for environmental management or something related.
What does your SO do? Airport operations
Which one of you makes more money? Me. He does get free insurance though so there's that?
What would be your dream job? (If not already in it!) This is pretty much my dream job. I really do enjoy it! I always used to say I wanted to be a SAHM, now I don't know. It would be hard to give up my job. I would like it if I could go part time or work from home more once we have a baby, but I don't know if that will be an option.

I agree, this is really neat to hear what everyone else does! And I've noticed before that there seem to be a ton of teachers on the bump. I think it's the demographic. Teachers are more likely to be women of childbearing age. And with childbearing interest.
@JNCPro3130 One of my best friends is paramedic and currently works in the pediatric ER. I have definitely called her for a few things and was thrilled that she was working the one time I had to take DS to the ER.
What's your day job?
I'm a data manager for the college of education at a university. I make reports with graphs and tables of things like enrollment numbers and test scores. I spend most of my day in Excel.
Did you go to school for it?
Yeah, pretty much. I have a BS in psychology with minor in statistics and a MA in Educational Psychology with a focus on research methods. I'm technically still working on a PhD in Educational Psychology, but I've made pretty much zero progress on my dissertation in the last 3.5 years. And seriously, the most complicated thing I do at work is find averages and percentages, so a PhD won't give me useful skills. It might give me more street cred with the faculty, though, so I'm debating trying to finish it.
What does your SO do?
He's an 8th grade language arts teacher in a nearby town. But, he got a new principal last year who has created a pretty unhappy environment, so a lot of the teachers are leaving and he's looking for a new job. Still teaching language arts, but in town and maybe high school. Schools often hire really last minute, though, so we'll have to see.
Which one of you makes more money?
I do. Not that much more, but I have a lot more potential for growth than he does. The pay schedule for teachers in my state has raises of $1 a year most years. Of course, with the priorities of our current government, both state and federal, there's no money for any raises whatsoever at the University level either.
What would be your dream job? (If not already in it!)
I actually really love my job. I agree with @ChloandCoco, I would like to keep my current job and pay, but work part-time. Maybe 5 or 6 hours a day?
Although, reading all these needlework mysteries makes me want to own a needlework shop so I could just learn new crafts and craft all day. And solve mysteries on the side.

Did you go to school for it? Definitely not! I went to school for computer info systems/business, but had a clerical job while in college (2005). I've ended up in all admin/clerical/receptionist/front desk positions since then.
What does your SO do? He's an electrical engineer.
Which one of you makes more money? He does! His base pay is 2x what I make in a year. With bonuses and overtime, he consistently makes 3x or more what I do.
What would be your dream job? (If not already in it!) I am definitely NOT in my dream job! TBH, I don't like working all that much and I've struggled HARD on "what I want to be when I grow up" - I've tried going back to school 3 times for various things (1. creative writing, 2. networking admin, 3. event planning). I really enjoy being home and getting things done. Cleaning/organizing/cooking/crafting/gardening. So I'm kind of excited that my fiance wants me to be a SAHM, though he doesn't think I should (would need to) be after any kids start going to school.
Did you go to school for it? I did go to school for my CNA. I went to a trade school during my senior year of high school and got my CNA right before graduating high school.
What does your SO do? He's a local truck driver (delivers trusses), but he also occasionally builds trusses.
Which one of you makes more money? He does, for now!
What would be your dream job? (If not already in it!) I'm in school to get my Nursing degree, to become an RN. I'd love to work in women's health in some degree if I was able to.

What is your day job? I'm a promotions associate in the marketing services department of a large food and drink company.
Did you go to school for it? Nope, not really. I went to a small liberal arts school and got an English lit degree and minored in film studies. Real useful stuff, ha.
What does your SO do? He's an HVAC tech.
Which one of you makes more money? Base salary, I do. But, he has a lot of overtime and bonus opportunities, so he often brings home more money in a month.
What would be your dream job? I always wanted to be a physical therapist, but I'm not really science minded so I figure that probably wouldn't work out.
What is your day job? I'm mostly a SAHM but also do a little bit of real estate. And occasionally some writing, but I don't get paid for that.
Did you go to school for it? No, my degree is in biochemistry, and I have an almost-finished (but probably never will be completed) masters in biology. I thought I wanted to be a doctor or genetic counselor but then started having kids and wanting a second round of kids--long story short--decided that staying home is pretty nice!
What does your SO do? He's an engineer and builds spaceships!
Which one of you makes more money? Him.
What would be your dream job? What I do now, plus maybe a little bit of baby name consulting--if such a job were to exist! I'm obsessed with names and Nameberry.
