1) How far along are you? How big is baby?20 weeks, halfway there! He's the size of a banana, which seems suddenly big
2) How are you feeling? Really good! A bit more emotional instability than I expected from the second tri, but still nothing like the first.
3) Any appointments this week/last? Anatomy scan and checkup on Monday
4) Rants/Raves/Questions? Raves are the size of my bump (it's so cute!) and being able to feel the little guy in there sometimes. Rant is that I keep reading about how my libido is supposed to be so high right now, and it's not I feel like I'm wasting my last period to actually have time for sex.
5) GTKY: If you could live anywhere in the world, and your friends and family could come with you, where would you live? Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. My husband and I spent a year traveling through SE Asia and parts of the Middle East awhile back, and both fell in love with KL. We actually had an opportunity to live there a couple of years ago with his job but it wasn't the right one; we still hope to live there for a bit at some point.
Thanks for starting this @blueskies17! @shellac835 good luck at your anatomy scan! Mine won't be for a few more weeks but I hear it's the best! I've been MIA for a bit but jumping back in!
1) How far along are you? How big is baby?18 weeks, artichoke
2) How are you feeling? Finally feeling better! The nausea is mostly gone and I can easily handle the little spurts I'm getting now. I have noticed a really heavy feeling in my uterus, like I'm very aware of it constantly, and that's a weird sensation.
3) Any appointments this week/last? In between appointments for now.
4) Rants/Raves/Questions? Rave: I just spent a really nice, relaxing week with my family at the beach. Rant: Because of storms at home my flight out was canceled and we couldn't get another one until a full day later, so I'm missing a close friend's baby shower and feeling really guilty about it.
5) GTKY: If you could live anywhere in the world, and your friends and family could come with you, where would you live? Honestly I really love NY and would probably choose to stay here. I've left before and couldn't wait to get back!
1) How far along are you? How big is baby?16 weeks , baby is the size of an avocado. I am a little confused because the baby was the size of a navel orange and ive never seen an avocado bigger than a navel orange LOL I look like im like 25 weeks because I have been having massive bloating.
2) How are you feeling? I experimented with going back to drinking coffee and I realized why I stopped drinking it in the first place LOL. I feel like at least for my body coffee like works for a few hours but once it wears off its SO much worse than however tired I was before. I can do like green teas and stuff of that nature for a lil pick me up in the morning but a big jolt of caffeine with coffee i think is not for me. plus it upsets my stomach bc i have some ulcers. but basically starting a new job and all that i just feel really tired and we moved and are now finally getting settled. Ugh moving was so expensive we r broke now lol .
3) Any appointments this week/last? So with the big move im moving from my old insurance to my husbands health insurance. Im trying to figure out how to find an OB that wont be involved with the health system I work for. I had a bad experience last time I got very sick and the doctors that were supposed to be supervising me were very involved with my medical records in a way that was not good at all (and probably not legal - anyone heard of HIPPAA lol).
4) Rants/Raves/Questions? I wish I could figure out how to solve this bloating. Before I used to use digestive enzymes but Im not sure how much of it is progesterone and how much of it is just me making bad food choices
5) GTKY: If you could live anywhere in the world, and your friends and family could come with you, where would you live? This is a tough one. I actually would not mind living that far away from friends and family. I think Id like to live in a place with a low cost of living, where I feel like i could contribute my medical skills to make a difference in the world, where I could raise my family mostly safe from discrimination or at least violence , a place that is politically stable and a place with opportunities to be close to nature etc. Im not sure what that place would be. Right now I think I would like either Cuba or staying here and travelling abroad as part of my work.
@shellac835 Ive always wanted to go there! Ugh, it looks so beautiful. We'll get there one day @Piccola1988 Funny you say that - I've been relying very AWARE of my uterus lately and it's a very odd feeling. Especially if you're swimming. I can't decide if I like it or if I'm grossed out by it lol. @jackiesmom324 Yo due date twin! Good luck finding a new OB. There's got to be someone that's not involved with your job somewhere.
1) How far along are you? How big is baby?
16 weeks - babies are the size of avocados or dill pickles, depending on the app
2) How are you feeling? Good! Nausea is GONE, exhaustion is GONE! But I am still having quite a few food aversions. Waaaaahhhhh!
3) Any appointments this week/last? None this last week. I've got an Appt this Thursday for my 16 week scan, where they'll confirm that the twins are boys. My boss is an RE, and I showed him pics from my 15 week US and he said 99% they're boys - he couldn't say 100% because he wasn't controlling the machine. Being able to tell the sex of a baby as early as 5 weeks is his specialty, so I'm very confident that he's right!
4) Rants/Raves/Questions?
We made our official social media announcements this week. It was my birthday and I had about 6 people say happy Birthday new mama, or something along those lines, so I figured I'd just get it out there. I'm glad it's fully out in the open now.
5) GTKY: If you could live anywhere in the world, and your friends and family could come with you, where would you live? My husband and I are in Hawaii (Maui) right now for my birthday and a babymoon, so I'm probably going to say Maui lol. It's effing GORGEOUS! I'd love to just wake up, go scuba diving, or cruise to the beach all day. It's definitely in our later in life plan. For now I'll just keep enjoying my last vacay before these twins come. I'm pampering myself with massages, sleeping in, and book reading for the next 4 days. Not too shabby.
I just do not have the patience to fix my Bold/Not bold post. Sorry if it's annoying anyone's eyes!
@Piccola1988 what part of NY are you in? I'm in NYC! @breezybee ugh I luuuuurve Hawaii and can't wait to visit Maui in a few weeks! Please share some Maui tips when you get a chance. Happy birthday and have an amazing time!!
1) How far along are you? How big is baby?19w, mango
2) How are you feeling? Good! I have most of my energy back.
3) Any appointments this week/last? Anatomy scan is on Friday- ahh!
4) Rants/Raves/Questions? I keep going back and forth on whether we should sell our 1BR and move to a 2BR rental in our city before baby gets here, or to "rough it out" and stay in our place for another year or two before buying a house in the suburbs. The 2BR's that we've seen are either the same square footage as our place or have 200 more sq ft, for 50%+ more than our monthly mortgage payments. DH doesn't mind it but I can't get past that mentally. I love our neighborhood but nice 2BR's here are way more than we want to spend, and other neighborhoods seem inferior now that we are talking about moving. But staying in a 1BR will be rough because DH is a very light sleeper. There are so many decisions to make, and time is running out!
5) GTKY: If you could live anywhere in the world, and your friends and family could come with you, where would you live? I would live in Oahu- love it there!
1) How far along are you? How big is baby?17 wks - Pear.
2) How are you feeling? Pretty good.
3) Any appointments this week/last? No.
4) Rants/Raves/Questions? I felt baby move around a week ago, it was happening at night, but I haven't really felt any movement in a few days, going BSC. I'm sure it's nothing, but I googled will tight pants hurt baby, google assured me it would not.
5) GTKY: If you could live anywhere in the world, and your friends and family could come with you, where would you live? Money was no object?! I've heard of a lady making a cruise ship suite her home, so if there was a life time cruise that went all over, so you could check out the world with F&F, sign me up! Somewhere a bit more realistic - Charleston, SC.
1) How far along are you? How big is baby?17 weeks - video game controller ha ha ha
2) How are you feeling? Fine for the most part. Less heart burn than last week.
3) Any appointments this week/last? I have one coming up on Tuesday. Nothing exciting just a regular OB check. Still a few weeks until my anatomy scan.
4) Rants/Raves/Questions? DH and I went to the beach today and got some sun! I have been paler than casper for a while now. I might be a little pink (Whoops). But I always burn first and then tan. It will be nice to have some color. I realized it is getting more and more uncomfortable to lay on my tummy. Thinking of buying one of those pregnancy floaties that has a hole for your tummy. Anyone ever had one? OH and another big RAVE is the seller accepted our offer on the house we LOVE!! So as long as nothing weird happens we should close in mid-August!
5) GTKY: If you could live anywhere in the world, and your friends and family could come with you, where would you live? Mykonos maybe? Loved the food and culture there.

@blueskies17 I'm in NYC too (downtown in FiDi) but we are off to the burbs this fall for more space and to be closer to family once the little guy comes.
@shellac835 I'm totally with you on the libido thing. I'm just not interested but I feel like I should be! Kind of disappointing.
1) How far along are you? How big is baby?
20 weeks/ banana
2) How are you feeling?
Actually pretty decent most of the time but I've had a ton of gas pains recently (it's been bad all along but it's gotten worse). The pain makes me a little paranoid, especially if I haven't felt any little flutters recently.
3) Any appointments this week/last?
My anatomy scan was Tuesday and it's a boy! Everything else looked good too so that's reassuring.
4) Rants/Raves/Questions?
We've been wondering how our almost-7 month-old puppy would do with our baby and got to see her in action, first with a friend's 4 month-old and then with the neighbor two year-old. She was fantastic with them! Maybe a little energetic, but licking them all over and she was following around and even herding the neighbor boy a little bit on his bike when it seemed like he was getting too far away (German shepherd mix - guess it's in her DNA).
5) GTKY: If you could live anywhere in the world, and your friends and family could come with you, where would you live? That's a tough one because there are lots of places I'd like to visit but couldn't say for sure yet if I'd like to live there. I've always wanted to visit Ireland.
@Piccola1988 Welcome back! My uterus/abdomen has been feeling heavier lately too. It's a strange sensation! @breezybee Happy birthday! @moonlady-2 Congrats on the house! Hope everything continues to go smoothly!
1) How far along are you? How big is baby?
17+1, di/di twins, pomegranates
2) How are you feeling?
My ulcerative colitis (UC) has been flaring for a little over a month now and I suspect the LOs snuggling up against my large intestine aren't helping matters. I called my GI last week and he told me that unless I start bleeding it would be best to just wait it out since it's not too severe of a flare (he said if I do start bleeding to call him immediately). Normally he would give me prednisone to get it under control, but obviously that's not great for the babies. Thankfully, this UC flare mostly strikes at night when I'm at home, so I'm able to get through the workday without too much trouble. It doesn't seem to be affecting my weight too much and I'm trying hard to stay hydrated, so I'm hoping it's not causing any more damage than regular morning sickness would.
3) Any appointments this week/last?
I have an appointment with my OB tomorrow and our anatomy scan 1 week from tomorrow! Since I'm having twins, my OB has done an ultrasound at every visit, so I'm totally psyched that I'll get to see the ZigZags two weeks in a row!
4) Rants/Raves/Questions?
Rant: Just the UC that I mentioned above Rave: My mom took me on a shopping spree for maternity clothes today as my belated birthday present! Even though I don't really have a prominent bump yet, none of my pants fit, so I was in desperate need of these clothes! I got a skirt, a dress, a pair of pants, and a bunch of tops, so it definitely was a successful trip.
5) GTKY: If you could live anywhere in the world, and your friends and family could come with you, where would you live? I've done quite a bit of travel, but there are still a bunch of places that I'd like to visit first before deciding. I've never been to any of the Scandinavian countries (unless you count Iceland -- I know not everyone does), but I know their education systems and quality of living are supposed to be some of the best in the world, so those are definite options. I'm not a huge fan of the cold and Scandinavian languages seem hard to learn, but the beauty of those countries and the other qualities mentioned above would definitely make them top contenders.
We met with the doula we're going to go with yesterday, which was so so exciting. A week from today is the 20 week US/anatomy scan.
4) Rants/Raves/Questions?
I'm also loving having this little bump, and pretty sure I *just* started feeling little flutter movements inside.
5) GTKY: If you could live anywhere in the world, and your friends and family could come with you, where would you live? I'd live close by to where I am, on some farm land near Baltimore City, and have a rural collective farm/retreat center maybe just half hour out of the city, along the C&O bike path, on a river or lake. We'd be able to go back and forth between city and country, which would be ideal for me, I think.
