  • @justkeepswimming8 Sorry about your in laws! Hopefully they calm waaay down by then!

  • @MrsFl2015, I haven't changed anything out yet, but I've been wondering if I should. I'll be interested to see the answers you get!

@justkeepswimming8, sorry the in-laws are giving you grief. I worry about mine with a grandchild sometimes too, but at least they live out of state and we don't see them very often.

@Cricket648, have fun at the wedding flea! I went to one bridal expo as a bride but it was totally overwhelming, I think these things are a lot more enjoyable as a friend of the bride than as the bride! (But I'm a shy introvert, so wedding planning in general was not really my thing.)
  • @Augusta108 I'm glad your festival was fun! I'm definitely an introvert, too, which is probably why my friend seems so much more "into" wedding planning than I ever was.

@Stargazer1lily I could totally see myself working with animals, too. Maybe as a dog trainer, or boarding animals or something.

@pebbledam Haha! It's just a flea market for wedding things. Did you see any interesting wildlife on your hike?

@Stargazer1lily - I'm with you on wanting to work with animals, but NOT being a vet. I could see myself getting really involved in rescue work in the future.

  • @Cricket648 - YES, ACTUALLY! We came across a deer and it stood there for a solid minute before snorting really loudly and running off. I've seen hundreds of deer in my life, but I have never heard one make sounds, so that was really weird and cool! There were a lot of bugs, too and I found a tick crawling on me when we got back to the car.  :#

WAYDTGKU: Had sex yesterday and on Friday, going to start taking progesterone or maca soon.

R/R: Started spotting again yesterday after sex :( And I've been having lower back/lower belly pains all weekend.

CS/Q: Anyone tried maca root while TTC? My doctor believes that I have post-birth control hormone imbalance and gave me progesterone pills to use from CD 15 through 24 "if I want to". I also read about maca root online, and now I'm not sure which one I should go for because apparently you shouldn't take them at the same time.

GTKY:  What is your dream job?  OR  If you had to change careers/jobs, what would you do instead? Why?
If I wasn't an engineer, I'd love to be a doctor (pediatric oncologist). Medicine is so fascinating and I want to do something that matters.

  • @pebbledam That's so weird! I've never seen a deer do anything like that! The tick thing is a little scary, but it doesn't sound like it bit you, so hopefully it didn't. Did you save it?
This is a little off topic, but your weird deer story made me think of it...One time I took my students on a field trip to a nature reserve, and we were hiking through the woods. A couple of my boys ran ahead a bit, but they had a chaperone with them that I knew pretty well, so it was alright. Well, all of the sudden the students near the front start screaming bloody murder what I thought was , "Ahmiere!! Ahmiere!!" (a students' name). So as I approached I'm thinking that this student must have fallen off the path down an embankment is now injured (cue panick attack). Turns out it was a deer. They had never seen one before. Haha

  • @Cricket648 - That's really cute that they hadn't seen a deer before. We took my friend's dog with us on the hike and he stopped and stared at the deer. He had no clue what it was. I just couldn't believe how loud this deer was and after she bounded off, we heard her snort a few more times (probably warning the other deer to run away). I grew up in the country and wildlife was just a part of life! The tick didn't bite me, thankfully. I didn't think to save it, but I did a very thorough check for more tick friends when I got home.

  • @stemgirl11 uhhh you might want to ask that in chart stalk. I'd be suuuuper wary of starting progesterone before ovulation. Are you temping? Using opks? Anything to know when ovulation is? I think it's pretty clear that very few women ovulate on cd14. As for maca, I tried it but it made me feel BAD. I can't tolerate caffeine at all and it was like caffeine times 100 for me. I think a few of the IF ladies have tried it too, and they seemed to like it? Or at least not hate it like I did.

@doxiemoxie212 That's exactly the problem. I haven't managed to get a positive results at all while using OPKs, and my doctor did an ultrasound last month on CD #9 and said it didn't look as if I was going to ovulate in that cycle either. She also told me to stop using the OPKs because chances are I'm just not ovulating and knowing that makes me upset. I've been spotting a lot because apparently my endometrium isn't thickening as it should be, and the doc gave me the progesterone to help with the spotting (also did a pap smear which came back normal). I've been hesitant to take it because I don't want to stop my body ovulating if it eventually figures out it's what it's supposed to do... She scheduled CD21 labs for (late) September at the earliest. I'll check in the chart talk thread though, thanks for the tip :)

  • @pebbledam My sister is a vet tech and did a lot of work with animal rescue from natural disasters in the past (worked in NO after Katrina). She loved it but it was hard on her emotionally too.

@Cricket648 That's so cute that they'd never seen a deer. Makes me smile.

@stemgirl11 *possible TW* I thought about going back to do a pediatric fellowship, but really sick, hurt kids just destroy me. I can handle them infrequently but if it was all I was doing, I think I'd lose it. *end TW*

WAYDTGKU: Praying to the good Lord
R/R: Rant: I've never had over a 32 day cycle until now. Had a positive digital opk cd13. I swear I had another positive cheapie opk today? Yet I thought I may have ovulated last week... I started temping on Wednesday in case this happens again. Should have known better.
    CS/Q:
GTKY:  What is your dream job?  OR  If you had to change careers/jobs, what would you do instead? Why? I am currently trying to get an at home job with a heath care company. Good benefits and more flexibility to be home with the little ones, if I can ever ovulate to produce them!
  • @stlgirl62331 what makes you think you haven't ovulated yet? positive opks can also be a sign of pregnancy. Maybe pee on a preg test?
  • @stlgirl62331- It's possible to have false LH surges (which is what OPKs check for) without ovulating. Are you temping? Temping and ultrasound are the only ways to confirm ovulation. How long have you been off BC? I didn't ovulate until CD60 last cycle, which I confirmed by temping. I had three LH surges that cycle.

  • @doxiemoxie212 it's really just been a guessing came since I didn't ovulate with the first surge. And that's what I thought with the last surge on July 4th, But the hpt was negative. At this point I'm just tired of the Bfns!
@pebbledam I assume what I've been seeing are false lh surges. I don't temp. I use opks and track cm&cp. Though I have learned my lesson and I started temping on Wednesday to get the hang of it. I've been off of BC for 3 years now. So sorry you're having such long cycles and late ovulation. It's enough to drive you crazy sometimes!

Out and about today. I'll try to come back later for some commenting.

R/R: I can't possibly have a rant cause we're off for the next week. We spent the day today at this local lake/beach

Im in a medical profession now... which can be depressing obviously. So if I ever changed, I'd want something super fun and uplifting. Maybe something with planning/throwing events

    Month/Cycle: 3/3 (1/1 AL)

    CD: 4

WAYDTGKU: PNV, tracking cm, OPKs, preseed, and HIO.

    R/R: No more headache!

    CS/Q: not at the moment

GTKY:  What is your dream job?  OR  If you had to change careers/jobs, what would you do instead? Why? I love the job that I have now (I'm an Analyst), but I would love to work 6 hours a day instead of 8 when the kids are in school.
  • @justkeepswimming8 It was just a flea market specifically for wedding things. We didn't find anything useful, but it was still fun.

@stemgirl11 I agree with @doxiemoxie212 about the progesterone. I'm sorry if I missed it, but are you temping? If not I would seriously recommend it. I've had tons of long cycles in the past, and temping has been soooo helpful.

@stlgirl62331 I'm sorry about your cycle troubles, but I'm glad to see that you started temping. I haven't ovulated since November(?), but have had many false surges on OPKs and 90+ day cycles, so I know how frustrating those long cycles can be. Honestly, temping kept me sane through it all (so I didn't constantly think I was KU), and gave me some data to bring with me when I finally went to the doctor. Good luck!

How are you doing with weaning hormones? A bunch of my friends got very weepy and depressed. I'm worried about that when I get to that point.

@stlgirl6233 thank the sweet baby jebus I haven't been subjected to a CRAZY long cycle like @pebbledam & @Cricket648 (those girls are SAINTS imo) but I hear ya girl! Had a 43 day cycle a few months back before I started tracking anything. It was maddening, I was peeing on so many sticks, convinced I was KU. Made an appt with my pcp because I *NEVER* had irregular cycles after getting my uid out. Yeah, got my period the day of my appt, my doc essentially rolled her eyes at me, and I felt like an idiot LMAO. Tldr our bodies suck sometimes and I hope you either get AF or a BFP sooner rather than later.

**TW not too bad. My son never taking a cup meant not being able to leave for more than about three hours in  11 months and if I did, he had a REALLY hard time. I was super done nursing on an emotional level if that makes sense? Also, we are almost postive this pregnancy will be our last so I was also motivated because of that.meaning the faster I wean, the faster I can get pregnant,  faster I'll bevdone
