Need some positive!

Hoping someone has gone through something similar and can give me some positive news! I had some light bleeding at 6weeks 2 days and went to the er. My hcg was good, cervix closed but they couldn't see a fetal pole. She said it's really common because it could just be too early and she couldn't give me any answers as if I was miscarrying or not. She said it's like a 50/50. She did diagnose me with bv and gave me an antibiotic. I got my hcg levels tested again and they have significantly gone up in the last 32 hours. I've also still had a small amount of brown spotting. I'm so worried and waiting a week to get another ultrasound is heartbreaking. My doctor can't get me in until Monday and then will have to send me for an ultrasound. Every sysmptom online says it's either good or bad. So no help. I'm hoping the bv just made my cervix sensitive and it was too early to see the fetal pole. Anyone gone through something similar and have a healthy pregnancy? I've had 3 miscarriages but it's been 6.5 years since the last. ❤

  • The fact that your HCG rose and your spotting is brown is encouraging. I'm sorry you have to go through this. I hope you are able to get some rest this weekend and some (good) answers on Monday.

  • I spotted with my first 2 pregnancies.  From about week 8 to week 14 like every other day on my first and a few times with my second.  I was completely terrified but both my pregnancies were carried to term with healthy babies.  Good vibes that this is the case for you too.  I know it is scary and nerve wracking.  But, Hang in there mama! Spotting can be normal during first tri.  Just keep breathing and think positive until the ultrasound.
  • I had spotting that was brown then pink. I called my midwife and she had my levels checked. I ended up having low progesterone and have to be on a supplement for it but the spotting is gone! I pray you figure it out soon.
  • I was around a similar gestation as you and went in for my initial sonogram.  All they could see was a sac.  No yolk, no fetal pole, nothing.  My hcg numbers were good and doubled appropriately.  However, they told me it was a blighted ovum.  They told me to come back in one week to confirm.  I went back and there was a fetal pole, yolk, and heartbeat all measuring exactly to my dates.  That baby is now 2 1/2 and healthy.  Still grounded from scaring the shit out of me, but definitely here.  I discussed with my perinatologist and he said that this is the exact reason he does not do ultrasounds until 8 weeks.  He says that he never worries this early on until there was once a heartbeat and now there isn't.  I am sorry you are spotting and I hope things improve and next week you see a healthy baby.  Stay hopeful.
  • Thank you so much for the words of encouragement!
