2+ Moms- Favorite Baby Monitors

We didn't use a monitor with our first 2 as it wasn't needed in our condo. Now we won't be able to hear LO without it and I figure I'll be outside with the other two more. What is your favorite monitor?

i want one that connects to my phone I think and we are not in to spending a ton as this is the last LO.

Re: 2+ Moms- Favorite Baby Monitors

  • We use a cheapy sound monitor and then bought a webcam that I use via app on my phone to look at him. I love it! I can pull it up from anywhere, I don't have to be at home.
  • Loading the player...
  • DH refuses to use the web cam/wireless wifi based cameras. He read a few studies that showed how easily hackable the cameras are and apparently there is a lot of this around the world and weird people hacking an posting live feeds of baby monitors and talking through the cameras to the child.

With th that being said we have a video monitor but it's not wifi based so I don't have an app to use. We have a Levana brand video and sound monitor combo it lasted 3 years and then the sound stopped I think from dropping the parent into so frequently. We still use it for video purposes and purchased a cheap vtech sound monitor to go with it.
  • We used the summer infant monitor which is wifi enabled.
  • I'm good without video. Do they make a monitor that is wifi capable but only for sound?

  • I only have one baby but for her we used the angelcare movement/sound monitor. It's a SIDS monitor and gave us such peace of mind as first time parents even with her sleeping in the same room as us we still used it. It will beep for a warning if no breathing is detected and then if nothing has happened still an alarm will sound so you know to check on baby. She's 18 months now and we still use it more for sound purposes because we know she knows how to turn herself over and stuff obviously but it will come in handy if she starts climbing out of bed because the breathing part will go off indicating it's not detecting her they now have the next model up out and that one includes video monitor. I always wanted to just try a nest cam because you can see them on your phone and talk to them through the camera but I also worry about video monitors being hacked so they scare me.
