November 2017 Moms

Tuesday ticker change 7/11

Since it was missed yesterday and the participation level for Tuesday has declined I'm wondering if there even are any Tuesday ticker change mom's left.

1) How far along are you / how big is baby?

2) How are you feeling?

3) Any appointments this week?

4) Rants/Raves/Questions?

5) How is the baby name discussion coming along? Are you telling others or are you making them wait?

Re: Tuesday ticker change 7/11

  • 1) How far along are you / how big is baby?
    22 weeks, coconut

    2) How are you feeling?
In pain from my pelvis, I keep doing too much. I think now that our reveal is over I don't have much more running around to do. I'll wear the belt to work tomorrow to see if that helps.

    3) Any appointments this week?
    None this week.

    4) Rants/Raves/Questions?
I'm completely done with the pain, I get stuck on my side in bed and it hurts so much to try and turn over.
Im overwhelmed with the registry and trying to figure out the nursery. We have a crib, dresser and now a mamaroo but there is still so much to think of.  The reveal did go great, everyone showed up. DH had to blackmail is brother to get him to bring his family (who did want to come) and it was lovely to have everyone there. Now everyone in my life knows I'm pregnant.

    5) How is the baby name discussion coming along? Are you telling others or are you making them wait?
DH and I go back and forth on names, we just randomly say them to each other because we have to hear it out loud. We have decided not to discuss names with our families or at least tell them what we decided, we don't need to welcome peoples thoughts on changing our minds.

    1) How far along are you / how big is baby? 23 weeks...Mango or Grapefruit

    2) How are you feeling? very large...my back is starting to hurt so I'm trying to stretch more

    3) Any appointments this week? I had one Monday.  My OB said a VBAC is possible but I need to eat less carbs in an attempt to keep her from getting too big.  I apparently make big babies and she's measuring a full week ahead.  An ultrasound at 38 weeks will determine if I try a VBAC or stick with the RCS

    4) Rants/Raves/Questions? Not that I can think of right now

    5) How is the baby name discussion coming along? Are you telling others or are you making them wait?
We already know what we're naming her and we've let everyone know.  It was part of our gender reveal for everyone.  But I'm not the type to care what people think anyway.  Plus it's a beautiful name :)

DS1 is 7.  DD is 1.  DS2 is coming in late April.

  • I'm a Tuesday ticker change - I always seem to forget to check in though!

    1. 22 weeks - American Guinea Pig

    2. Feeling pretty good overall. Feeling movement everyday. Otherwise, I don't really "feel" pregnant because most other symptoms are manageable (heartburn and allergies mostly). My skin has been dry and irritable though. My arms feel like they have a sunburn even though they don't. It's odd.

    3) Nope! Not until next Friday.

    4.  No real rants today. Raves - I only have three days left at work before I get a week off for vacation! We're traveling to see friends and family, so nothing major, but we haven't seen these people in a long time and it will be nice to catch up.

    5. Good. I think we're settled on a first name - it's one I've liked for a long time and DH is ok with it. Middle names are in his court to come up with a short list. We've talked over a few, but havent settled on one yet. We're not telling anyone until the baby is born, so we have some time.

@MaximumEffort I'm sorry you're in so much pain. My hips are starting to hurt in bed, too, but yours sound worse. I hope the belt helps. As for the registry, you have most of the big, necessary stuff picked! The rest is just a bonus! It helped me a lot once I started thinking of it that way.
  • I'm still here and love our ticker change!
    1) How far along are you / how big is baby?
    21 weeks. Bok choy
    2) How are you feeling?
    I'm doing great!!!
    3) Any appointments this week?
    Not this week.
    4) Rants/Raves/Questions?
last week at my a/s they pointed out the umbilical cord is attached to the edge of the placenta instead of the middle. So I have to come in for more u/s to make sure baby grows OK. Is this normal? I'm totally OK with more u/s but it definitely worried me a bit ..anyone else had this issue?
    5) How is the baby name discussion coming along? Are you telling others or are you making them wait?
OMG I swear he's just making names up! They're TERRIBLE! I want to find a name together but not when he comes up with names that make me wanna vomit lol! We're not telling others. We announced the monogram (cuz we kno the initials, not the first name yet) but that's all were telling. We decided everyone is knowing so much about the pregnancy that we want to keep something to ourselves.
  • @kaitlinliz It's called a marginal cord insertion. I have it too. It means baby *may* get less nutrients and could potentially lead to growth issues in third tri. I was already at risk of growth restriction because of my first tri bloodwork results, but this means I'll definitely be getting another US between 28 and 32 weeks to check on growth. The OB at my US said that up until 26 weeks, there's not too much I can do that will prevent growth issues. After 26 weeks (or even now), make sure I eat a well balanced diet with lots of nutrients, take my prenatal, and make sure I get plenty of rest to balance out any activity. I see my regular OB next Friday, and I was planning on asking her about it then too. If the baby does have growth restriction issues, it usually means more monitoring in third tri, and in severe cases, you may have to deliver early (34+ weeks). Most of the time though, everything is OK - baby just may be on the smaller side.

    Still here also!

    1) How far along are you / how big is baby? 22 weeks..,coconut, water bottle, guinea pig lol

    2) How are you feeling? Ok..starting to get some swollen feet and soreness at night but I can't really complain too much.

    3) Any appointments this week?
    Nope

    4) Rants/Raves/Questions?
Just a rant that DH seems annoyed I'm on pelvic rest through week 28 due to marginal/partial previa. I feel like he should be more understanding.

    5) How is the baby name discussion coming along? Are you telling others or are you making them wait?

we finally decided on a name and we told both of our moms but no one else yet. Glad that's over with lol
  • I am still around but late as usual.

    1) How far along are you / how big is baby?
    22w2d

    2) How are you feeling? Feeling pretty good overall! The last week or so I have noticed that if I do too much I am very tired the next few days and I get kankles.

    3) Any appointments this week? Nothing until a regular checkup on 7/24

    4) Rants/Raves/Questions? Baby is a lot stronger now so I will feel big movements for a few days but still have periods of not feeling much movement. I'm ready for it to be consistent and settle my mind!

    5) How is the baby name discussion coming along? Are you telling others or are you making them wait?
We have settled on a first name and pretty sure on the middle. We will wait until birth just in case we change our minds.

@kaitlinliz @RiverSong15 I also have a cord issue, but mine is a single umbilical artery. At this point, since everything else checked out OK they are also mostly monitoring growth. I will go for a monthly growth u/s with the specialist until 32 weeks and then I will have 2 appointments a week until delivery for monitoring...one with the OB and one with the specialist.

@RiverSong15 @KT&John thank you for the reassurance. I did look it up but of course some people tend to make it seem like the worst thing that could happen lol. I go in at 28 weeks and they want me to go again at 32 weeks for ultrasounds and monitoring. I have an appt at 24 weeks with my reg OB and he's gonna send me for more blood work
