Re: Pregnant after IF check in 7/6

  • People on other threads are talking about brown discharge worrying them, but I've had that pretty much every day....am I supposed to be worrying about it? Because it seems pretty normal considering the crazy shit going on in my uterus right now. I have an ultrasound next week and still feel ill so all is well.

p.s. last night I had half a Carvel ice cream log for dinner and I regret nothing. My nausea went away immediately after eating it. Ice cream is life.

  • @eggplantface everything that is out there when you look it up says brown discharge is normal, that its old blood, and I would expect it to be more common with any kind of ART since there was so much activity down there to start with. I know its hard not to worry, but I think you are correct and it is normal.  And agree, Ice cream is life right now. I need summer to be over.

  • Hi ladies!  So yah, brown discharge is considered normal. it usually has to do with implantation.  My RE said that also with taking progesterone, it can make the cervix bleed easier.  Nausea is still present and kicking my ass.  So today, I took my 18 mo to school for the first time and I couldn't keep it together. I was crying like a baby, and the teacher had to console me.  I felt so embarrassed. But this is a huge milestone for us.  My wife and I have always taken turns watching him during the week, so he's never been in daycare.  This program is really nice and I think he will grow to love it, but it was SO SO hard to drop him off today...and pregnancy hormones didn't help...AT ALL!  I'm sorry, totally random but just needed to tell someone about it BC I'm at work still trying to relax and not think about him every second.

QOTW: we are currently getting caught up with OITNB on Netflix.  We recently watched Big Little Lies on HBO and I was seriously addicted and am praying they decide to make another season!
  • @mamajenna_cnm. My DS starts school on Monday. He's 3. They eat lunch in the cafeteria and every time I think about him having to eat in the cafeteria I start to cry. He's so little I just can't imagine him doing that lol

AFM: I'm wicked hormonal. i can only eat soup and crackers. But I finally told my boss. His jaw dropped and he laughed for 2 mins straight. After the shock wore off he congratulated me and said that we will worry about my maternity leave when we get closer to it. I told him I'd only be taking the minimum and then I found out the minimum is 8weeks! I thought it was 6! I'm so excited to get two full months with my LO.

DH and I work opposite shifts on purpose so he's with DS at night and I have him during the day but it's taking its toll on our relationship. Hoping to have a little date night tonight since DS is with his bio dad til Friday. Anyone else feel like because or hormones or whatever you're not really connecting with your SO lately? I mean I fall asleep the moment my head hits the pillow.

QOTW: im binge watching the walking dead. I never got into until now. DH is super excited I'm watching this instead of my reality shows.

Hello everyone! This is my first post to this group. My EDD is 2/27, so I'm just over 6 weeks. My dx is PCOS. My ultrasound yesterday showed one embryo and we don't plan on finding out the gender.

A little background with a TW: I had 3 MCs last year (MMC at 9.6 weeks, found at 11 weeks, a chemical, and a blighted ovum.) I began seeing a RE in Jan who dx me with PCOS. We did three medicated cycles of timed intercourse, followed by a successful IUI (Clomid and Ovidrel).

I got my first US yesterday and everything looks great, which has eased my anxiety some. I'll feel much better once we get to the second trimester.

QOTW: my husband and I just got done rewatching GoT. We are also binging Parks and Rec. Otherwise I watch way too much HGTV.
  • Welcome @RaeleenD I also love hgtv. I can't believe the drama that went down between the flip or flop couple. I mean rarely are there scandals on Hgtv lol

Right?! All the drama I'm used to on there is the decision on which backsplash to choose!
  • I lucked out with 2 appts in one week. I graduated from the RE on Monday, which was very bittersweet. I saw the OB yesterday and got an ultrasound again. Baby was wriggling around! Heartbeat was 174. I go back on 8/1 for the NT and next appt. I got to go and get all my bloodwork done sometime before then. Since I had 2 LEEPs when I was younger, I will have an ultrasound at 16 weeks to make sure my cervical length is all good. My Ob is like 45 minutes away and they keep offering me afternoon appointments so trying not to be frustrated because even working from home is tricky because it takes such a huge block of time.

My husband and I watch most shows on HBO together. We like Silicon Valley, true detective, big little lies, Veep, last week tonight etc

  • Still waiting for my growth scan next week. It's so frustrating because there is nothing I can do. DH refuses to even acknowledge the possibility that this could end badly so I feel like I'm getting no support.

I just started watching The Good Wife
  • @LadyMillil I'm sorry the wait is hard and you and your H aren't dealing with it the same way. It's easier for some people to not face things until it happens. Have you tried telling him how it makes you feel? I know it's hard to communicate through difficult things but that's really the best way to grow stronger together
  • @Megzb510 yay for graduation! and I feel you on the appts. my boss commented yesterday on all my dr visits...

@LadyMillil sorry for the wait, I hope you can find some peace in that time, and I am sorry you are feeling so alone.

AFM I also graduated from my RE on Wed which was sad but sweet, my RE is seriously the best and I am sad to not see her anymore. Saw the baby moving around and it was also the first US where it actually looked like something and it was so amazing. Have my 1st OB appt on Mon, my RE suggested meeting with at least two to get a feel, but I am on thin ice as it is at work for all these appts and kind of want to just meet with the one I found. Did you guys shop around for an OB?

We are currently re-watching Game of Thrones for like the 10th time, SO excited for it to start again. That is definitely my favorite show. DH is leaving for a shoot for 3 weeks on Sat so I am trying to figure out what to binge while he is gone, thinking of catching up on OITNB or maybe starting Grey's Anatomy from the way beginning. I need something to keep my occupied while he is away or I will become a weird ball of anxiety and not speak to anyone the whole time he is gone.

Hi everyone! My EDD is 2/18 and I am pregnant with twins! My diagnosis is pcos and some MFI. My last ultrasound was Wednesday at 7w and they are both doing well with strong heartbeats! We don't know gender yet. I go this Wednesday again. My RE scans weekly until 12 weeks. So glad to have some other infertility sisters on here!
  • Welcome @meglw99 make sure to check out the moms of multiples thread as well! Congratulations
  • @LadyMillil I have been thinking of you and hope time passes quickly to the next scan. What day is it?

  • @eggplantface I can only back up that brown discharge is normal. Perhaps if you are really worried, call your doc At least that's what I do when I hop on the crazy train over some symptom :) I try not to do it often, but have been there twice already I guess. You inner peace is the most important. For others being more worried about it then you are: during IF we might have faced more crazy sh***t than others usually do, it might strengthen us :)

@LadyMillil So sorry that the wait is long, and your H can't find it in him to support you. Maybe you can tell him that you feel alone in this, and wish he could be there with you..? Although MH is like that too: he just can't/won't face the possibility of negative outcomes until they are there. We are here waiting for you. When is your scan next week? Willing to count down the days with you :) Hugs. <3

AFM: not much has changed, nausea and dizzyness/weakness still haunt my days which is soo much fun, especially at work (NOT). But then I accidentally touch my belly, and feel unbelievabl joy that it's finally here :)<3
Oh yeah, one thing changed: I finally let myself actually believe that it is happening. Then I get scared that I "jinxed it" by believing in it. Stupid, right? :D
And I actually have a tiny bump. I know, it might just be gas/weightgain etc, but it feels different: it is very round and firm (fat on me is usually just lumpy and discusting). Anyhow, maybe it is my 10,5 weeks LO, maybe it is not, but the Bump definitely makes all the sickness and worry a bit easier :)
I am about to leave for our US - worried of course, but can't wait :)

  • Thank you!! :)
  • 8w4d today and went for a follow up us today!  HB of 176 and LO was wiggling around like a little dancing bean...best moment ever!  I have one more appt with RE in two weeks and then I'm considered safe to go on my way.  I just posted in the symptoms thread but My DS (18 mo) is acting like a crazy person...anyone else?  I think he's on to me being preggo for sure.  Sigh.  I hope we can get past this phase...mama is exhausted.
  • Growth ultrasound is tomorrow
  • We had our us yesterday. The LO was moving around so much, omg almost cried at the doctors office :) Guys, i guess this is really happening. So touched.
Btw i don't know if it is a common thing to do or not, it was DHs idea but i am so grateful:
DH took a short video with our phone camera of the US. Just wanted to throw it out there in case anyone else is like me and wouldn't think of it.
It'sand awsome token to have :)

  • @Anna_1021 lucky. They honestly don't sometimes allow videos. My ultrasound lady must seriously hate life. She won't even turn the screen til she's done like can I just get a look and not sit a nervous wreck for the 5 mins your clicking buttons.

This is my experience exactly. No camera or phones allot and they won't even give you a picture or let you take one yourself. They won't turn the screen until the end here either and make no acknowledgement that a heartbeat has been seen or anything until they turn the screen at the end

  • @SunflowerMama428 @sabriel1 Oh I'm so sorry, didn't mean to kick you while you are down, had no idea that they can be so strict/cruel. That must be tough :( One can feel so vulnerable during these times no need to make it worse.

  • I also had a follow up ultrasound yesterday. Little bean looked great at 9w4d. Moving around like crazy and HR of 175. I am having my blood work tomorrow for NIPT to screen for chromosome problems. I feel like once that hurdle is cleared I'll finally settle in and enjoy this a bit.

@mamajenna_cnm, my 15 month old is giving me a run for my money too. She's been refusing to sleep in her crib and I'm so tired I can't even fight that battle right now so she ends up in bed with us. I told her yesterday that there was a baby in my tummy and this morning she pointed to my tummy and I said "yes, baby" and she pointed again and said "baba"...so at least she's cute.

I have started taking 25mg of vitamin B6 in the morning and if needed another 25mg at 4 or 5 pm. That is helping with the nausea. It's still hard in the morning but it's usually gone by midday.

QOTW: I don't really watch TV these days. I'm re reading Harry Potter for about the 900th time  :)

  • I had my last RE ultrasound this morning, and I'm the proud mother of a gummy bear. I've decided he's the red gummy bear. He was moving his little limbs ("fins" is more like it) and has an enormous head. It's definitely more "real" now that he's not just a blob!

@Anna_1021 A video would have been a good idea! I didn't think of it. I don't know if it's allowed. But I think H would have liked to have seen him moving around. And the still picture doesn't accurately capture the gumminess of it all.

  • @SunflowerMama428 @sabriel1 that is awful that the us techs don't let you see the screen!! In my office, our ultrasound room has a big screen tv on the wall connected to the us machine so you can see everything.  The only time we turn it off is if we suspect a loss.  We review first before asking the family if they'd like to see or not. It's honestly a patient right to be able to see what is going on during your us.  If you have the guts to say it, I would definitely point out at your next visit that it's your right to see the ultrasound screen during the exam that is taking place inside YOUR body!  Ok...end of rant.

@jensjourney yah my son has been saying "baby" and pointing to his tummy everyday...it's seriously heart melting.  We took him to the us yesterday and when he heard the HB he sighed and got excited.  It made us so excited that he had such a positive reaction!  Fx they can get over their crazy phase before LOs come!!
  • @eggplantface That gummibear analogy is gold! And spot on :) Next time try to shoot a video of it. It is an amazing thing to watch over and over - luckily you'll have plenty time to shoot that (if they allow of course)

  • Hello everyone. I am a little bit late to the party here... EDD is 2/10 and we had IVF for MFI. I am not sure what we are having yet but can't wait to find out! 20 weeks is so far away.... @eggplantface I know you have had lots of assurance on here but just one more for you :) I had pretty much every colour of discharge possible in my last pregnancy for the first trimester. In my case it was the progesterone suppositories but apparently totally normal!! I am anxious this time because I haven't had any.  Go figure...
