How are you @mrsrep123? Other than some irritation with SIL about her disorganized idea of moving, it's been really nice to just be living by ourselves. DS is very smiley and observant for 6 weeks old and got lots of attention from my nieces on the 4th that he loved. DD has been much better behaved w/o SIL and her BF here which I am both thankful for and feel a tad suspicious about. DH is still hunting for a second job and interviewed for a higher position at his current job, so here's to hoping that's going to work out since our lease is almost up and we'll be moving out of our place soon which I'm not looking forward to doing with a baby and toddler.
@OmegaRose3 Hi! Just came back from a busy weekend of motorcycle racing and hotel living with a toddler and infant! It was fun and we created lots of memories, but definitely tiresome.
Again, how is your SIL still breathing (replied with that in the Monday b!tchfest thread)? I must say I feel like ds2 waa lalert/smiley/interactive earlier than ds1 but I may just be forgetting or the haze of the newborn days is clouding my judgment. FX your H gets the higher position and/or 2nd job. Not looking forward to it, but we will be moving soon too. Good luck and hang in there!
@mrsrep123 That sounds both fun and hectic...I feel the same way about DS with the alertness etc in comparison to DD, but I'm one of those obnoxious people that has a thousand pictures of their kids on their phone and I have lots of pictures of DS smiling and barely any of DD when she was this age so I think they really are just different from eachother
Ugh...so not looking forward to moving with 2 kids or just moving in general to be entirely honest
@mrsrep123 how was the hotel living with an infant? We are looking to do a weekend away next month. Since DD makes 5, some hotels won't let us do a double room, instead they require a suite. I'm still just browsing trip ideas, but I think our family definitely needs a little get away.
@mcvgal it actually went smoother than I thought but we were hardly at the hotel. With the racing itinerary, we were up and out early and when back, it was pretty much bedtime for the kids. I brought the pack n play and Boppy Lounger which totally helped. As far as rooms, we didn't reserve with 2 kids to avoid the extra room cost. If you do, i would just stick with a total of 4.
LO has had diarrhea since Thursday. This is my first baby and slight illness with her and I didn't think diaper rash could happen so fast.. actually I didn't think about it at all. I now know to be proactive next time but in the meantime she is so miserable. She turned 8 weeks today and I'm wondering if infant Tylenol would be helpful or necessary. She didn't have a sore butt Friday at the pediatrician's so I didn't ask.
@Kateriee if she does not have a fever, I would avoid giving her any Tylenol. Did the pediatrician give any suggestions for addressing the diarrhea? This is going on the 5th day now, you may want to call the doctor for follow up, even if just to make sure she is not getting dehydrated. I hope she feels better soon.
I called yesterday. The doc thinks it's a bacterial infection, apparently it's going around. She's eating well and has wet diapers and no other signs of dehydration. We changed formula again and her stool seems to be firming up.
O good, that sounds like she's getting it all out of her system. The hardest part about any bug or infection is just having to let it work it's way out. I don't like the helpless feeling of wanting to be able to take all that discomfort away but not being able to.
@mrsrep123 what motorcycle race did you go to? DH and BIL used to race supercross and going to the races was always such a blast.
@Kateriee fingers crossed it passes quickly and LO is feeling better soon.
My grandparents have been in town for the past week and though it's been a little stressful having house guests, it's been so much fun to see them interacting with my kids. My grandpa is such a ham and I swear he teases my 3 year old the same way he used to tease me and my cousins and DS just adores it.
Hallo! Thought since I'm back to work I better get back on here.
Question...can you think of another good way to word that I'll be away from desk pumping? Pumping sounds so weird to me, but it may be what I have to do...
@nda_roxybabe, I second not telling people what you're doing. They can think you're in meetings, or they can assume you're pumping since they probably know you're a new mom.
Me: 29, DH: 31 Married: October 2014 Began TTC: April 2015 BFP #1: 9/18/15. EDD 5/18/16. MC 10/26/15. (9w) BFP #2: 2/27/16. EDD 11/7/16. MC/D&E 4/20/16 (11w) BFP #3: 9/22/16. EDD 5/29/17. DS born 4/24/17 BFP #4: 5/20/18. EDD 1/23/19.
My sister is trying to plan a trip with me for March. That's 8 months away. She wants to know what weeks work best, but I don't know what my projects at work will look like this far out. I prefer to plan trips with 3 or 4 months notice, not 8 months...

It's official... my period is back! Ugh! And pimples since I'm no longer on hormonal birth control. I'm hoping it clears oncer things settle because I don't want to deal with acne anymore
Nordstrom anniversary sale starts today and I want to go the mall! I've been trying since 9am to get us ready but DS is just not onboard with my plans today! he was also up at 2:30 and 5:30 today so that was hugely disappointing since he's only been up once overnight for the last 3 weeks or so!
@nda_roxybabe how do you feel being back at work? I always feel guilty going back but then after an hour of adult interaction I feel so much better. Kudos to SAHM but I need to be away a bit in order to be better mom, personally.
ETA I also think it's best to leave a generic "away" or out of the office message.
@nda_roxybabe can you just set a generic "meeting" message or "away" notice so you don't have to announce you are off pumping? I also can't believe you are back to work already!
I had my good ugly cry today. I'm missing the closeness of breast feeding, but I dried up. I have to have a colposcopy because they found abnormal cells in my papsmear and I have to schedule an MRI because they are worried about my vertigo lasting for a long time and theirs a possibility of tumors.
On a good note, LO is about to go to sleep for awhile and in one week our vacation/family reunion starts where I get to have the grandparents watch daughter while I go have adult fun. (Rafting on the river, horse back riding, etc.)
@Kateriee I remember I had the same feelings when I stopped bf my first. Its mixed emotions. I remember feeling sad but free. No more planning your life around pumping or feeding.
What kind of swimwear is everyone wearing? I haven't been brave enough to wear a bikini but I feel frumpy wearing a one piece or tankini.
@Kateriee I hope everything goes well with your appointments. You have a lot of things going on at once. NO longer breastfeeding or pumping does bring many mixed emotions, but a major positive is now you don't have to worry about any pumping or nursing getting in the way of family reunion activities.
@Kateriee sometimes it takes a good ugly cry to feel a bit better. FX nothing serious is going on but do keep us updated. Glad you'll get a break in the upcoming week!
I hadn't logged in on the computer in a long time and I noticed I was 50 weeks pregnant according to my ticker. I imagine that would be a very uncomfortable point in gestation.
Yup, 8 weeks and back to work It's really not bad, I have a great job. I just miss my boy! Apparently we will be having a "bring your kid to work day" so I am thrilled!
I don't typically have too many meetings and since I support the whole department I want them to have an idea of where I am. I ended up putting it on my Outlook calendar (which they cant see details on) as "pumping", but the sign on my desk I did "I'll be away from my desk, but available via email during these times {times}".
@mcvgal It's such an adjustment and a lot of all around guilt. Guilty about leaving the baby, guilty about rushing out of work to get the baby, guilty about trying to get the baby to bed so I can rest and get things done.
@mrsrep123 I'm on the mini pill and it must be like the IUD because I'm getting the horrible cystic acne I had with that. Ughhh
@nda_roxybabe well said regarding all of the different types of guilt. I'm trying to switch it up and refer to it not as guilt, but rather as a necessity to achieve our goal of a healthy and happy family.
+1 for not being ready for a bikini, but mainly because I still have a really dark linea nigra. At this point, I'm just hoping it goes away by next summer.

@lrwardrop I ordered this one piece from Amazon. I've lost most of the weight and I'm pretty slender, but I'm just not comfortable yet for my bikinis.
