Any appointments this week/last? How did it go? Last week, regular 34 week appt, next appt is regular 36 week.
Cravings? Sweets, chocolates and milk shakes!
Rants/Raves? Getting excited, almost at the 1 month mark! Had a fun weekend too, hosted my sister's bachelorette party, and it went great! This weekend is my last weekend of travel, after that, going to really buckle down and finish the nursery and do all laundry, looking forward to it!
Questions for FTM, STM+? Anyone's doctors able to tell them what their baby's weight is? I asked my doctor, and he said it wouldn't be accurate and not to bother.
GTKY: If a celebrity can play your SO in a movie, who would it be? The closest celebrity would be Michael Varton. He's tall slender and has a bigger nose. haha, rereading that literally made me laugh out loud...
Any appointments this week/last? How did it go? Tomorrow, getting that strep test
Cravings? Ice cream. It's hot out.
Rants/Raves? Just done carrying around a big medicine ball on my front. I want my body back. I want to be comfortable sitting in more than just the reclining position and I want to be able to toss and turn in bed or lay on my stomach or back or something. I want to be able to breathe normally. I also feel irrationally discouraged that the baby hasn't "dropped" yet, because they say for FTM it happens 2-4 weeks before labor starts. Well, I'm due in a little over 3 weeks so this drop better happen soon, I don't think I can bear to go past my due date.
Questions for FTM, STM+?
GTKY: If a celebrity can play your SO in a movie, who would it be? Even though DH doesn't like this actor, I'd say Eddie Redmayne. Others say he looks like a young David Duchovny though. Little of column A, little of column B I guess!
@DeansGirl14 i feel discouraged about the entire drop thing too! My friend due in July dropped when she was 34 weeks. She's due any day now. Doctor said it's different for everyone, but I'd like for it to happen!
@jacksonbears I have been told what the baby weighs, but I take the whole thing with a grain of salt. I was told at 32 weeks, that he was 5.5 pounds. However, everything that I looked up about the accuracy of weight estimates, from US at that early, said that baby was most likely smaller than that. I would have preferred to not know to begin with, but I was made to get a scan, becuase my fundal height was larger than it should have been (by 1 cm) . . .
How far along are you? 36 weeks tomorrow
Any appointments this week/last? How did it go? None last week. I have my doubles starting this week. I will have an OB appointment on Thursdays, from here on out, and then Fridays, I get to treck into the city, and have an US . . . I am hoping to get out of one or two of the USs, becuase its a PITA to get to the city early in the morning, especially at 36+ weeks.
Cravings? Ice cream! I was in Maine this past weekend, so I got to have my favorite ice cream, and it was heaven!
Rants/Raves? My shower was beautiful. My mom threw the whole thing, and it was Classic pooh themed! She did an amazing job, and she only had one or two meltdowns (my poor mom). The worst was the frosting for the cupcakes (it melted), but I didnt care. It was the most adorable shower ever! I cant get over how much stuff we got either. People were far to generous, and though we still have a few things to buy, we are pretty well stocked. Im now exhausted, and ready to sleep for the next 4 weeks to prepare for baby, however, I still have the whole work thing to do. Only 2 more weeks in the office, before I start WFH up until I go into labor!
Questions for FTM, STM+? none
GTKY: If a celebrity can play your SO in a movie, who would it be? I really have no clue! I hate being the party pooper on this GTKY, but I just cant think of anyone who might look like my DH. He is not super tall, and he is very thin, so there arent a lot of guys that are celebrities that fit that.

@jacksonbears your doctor is correct, estimating size at this point is wildly inaccurate. Like, could be pounds off. Why do you want to know? Just curiosity?
How far along are you? // 34 weeks tomorrow
Any appointments this week/last? How did it go? // Regular 34 week prenatal Thursday
Cravings? // Basically anything unhealthy. Chocolate and fast food at the top of the list.
Rants/Raves? // Rant: I never understood why women had such a hard time with the last few weeks of pregnancy, but man I'm there. I'm so tired and uncomfortable and was so irritable yesterday that DH asked what was wrong and I just started crying. Thankfully he reassured me it was all normal, and sent me to our room to take a nap. Rave: he also did the dishes and took out the trash while I was napping. Love him so much.

Any appointments this week/last? How did it go? Couple appointments last week. Had the swab and cervical check. Got my induction officially scheduled for this Wednesday. Assuming all goes well with my ultrasound tomorrow, I'll be delivering Wednesday and not sooner. I'm gonna have a baby this week!
Cravings? Fast food fries
Rants/Raves? I'm gonna have a baby this week! I'm excited, but so nervous. I have white coat syndrome so I know I'll be a mess in the hospital.
Questions for FTM, STM+? How bad is the first postpartum period? I've heard awful things about it.
GTKY: If a celebrity can play your SO in a movie, who would it be?
David Cross. A lot of people think he looks like him.
@Kathryn0903 I had my first period at 11 weeks. I don't think it was any worse than a regular one. The only thing that was annoying was it got really light and almost gone after about 4 days and then I would get random spotting.
@mrsmatt1212 Im with you on the unhealthy food. My problem is, despite the unhealthy food tasting fantastic in the moment, a few hours later I really regret it. I feel so bloated, and the extra salt makes me swell even more. But I have zero desire for healthy food (no salad for me, as I almost got super sick while eating one a week ago, and cant even think about trying it again). Any appointments this week/last? How did it go? Thursday I had the GBS swab and slightly elevated BP...it came down after 15 min on my side and I was just told to take it easy.
Cravings? So much sugar - candy, ice cream, cake. It's grossing me out as I've never really been a sweets person.
Rants/Raves? I had my toenail removed a few weeks ago (dropped a huge mug on it and destroyed the nail bed) and was finally able to go in the pool his weekend!! It was so awesome, I love being in the water!
Questions for FTM, STM+? For monitoring LOs first days of diapers and feedings, does the hospital generally give you a sheet? Is it easier to just draw up my own? Has anyone used an app they can recommend?
GTKY: If a celebrity can play your SO in a movie, who would it be? Bradley Cooper - a lot of people have said he looks like him.
@caity024 our hospital gave us a sheet last time but I think an app would be easier. I'm hoping to find a good one this time. I think it would be much easier to plug in my phone rather than look for a piece of paper and pen every time.
@Kathryn0903 So excited for you!!! I got my first PP period at 8 weeks (despite the fact that I was pumping!). It wasn't any worse than a normal period, and surprisingly I went back to a regular cycle right away.
@jacksonbears For my son, the US tech told me at 36 weeks t har he was measuring 7lbs15oz. He was born at 38 weeks weighing 8lbs11oz, so she was pretty accurate. I've heard overall though that the measurements are usually pretty wrong, so take them with a grain of salt.
@southernmama15 and @caity024, @bumpybump used an app (I think its babyconnect) for monitoring. I think DH and I might use the same one.

Cravings? Fruit- So dry feeling that watermelon has been eaten by the pound.
Rants/Raves? A little squashed, limited breathing, but I am making it work, baby has not dropped at all.
Questions for FTM, STM+? all the bottle sizes, and mini bottle things and all- what did you pump into? I plan to BF but daycare will happen so I want to start pumping early-and between the little tubes and bags and small bottles and seriously...

@southernmama15 and @caity024, @bumpybump used an app (I think its babyconnect) for monitoring. I think DH and I might use the same one.
Yep, we used BabyConnect (available for iPhone, Android, and desktop). Allows multiple users for the same kid. I already added this LO to ours and have been keeping record of heartbeat, notes at appointments, etc. I still keep track of DD's weight, height, etc in there too. Know it's not a perfect app by any means but it worked for us. @caity024 unless our hospital has changed, we will still be required to keep track of things via paper for their checking that LO is doing well. Side note, our hospital even tracks the oz of water I drink.

I have an ultrasound on Thursday. I am super excited to see if he is in position.
Cravings?
chocolate
Rants/Raves? Rant: I am super pissed off with the company I am working for. We don't get sick days, just paid time off. All of my doctor's appointments have put me in the negative and I still have 4 more weeks! It annoys me because I get weekly calls from HR telling me I am negative (like I don't already know!), meanwhile my fellow employees fake their timecards and my boss just blindly approves them. I can't do this because I have to inform our insurance company (I have an FMLA claim set up) every time I am out for medical reasons. UGH.
Questions for FTM, STM+? when do you start baby-proofing your home? Can you start doing it (putting plugs on our outlets) and save some for later (putting cabinet locks on)?
GTKY: If a celebrity can play your SO in a movie, who would it be?
I currently don't have an SO, but if I could special order one, he would be suave like George Clooney, athletic like Liam Hemsworth, intelligent like Anderson Cooper, sexy like Ryan Goosling, and classy like Obama.
@tova24 you can start baby proofing outlets and cabinets now if you want but it's kind of a PITA to have to deal with the cabinet locks. So, I'd personally wait.
***TW in Siggy*** Me: 34 / DH: 33 Married: Nov 2011 TTC #1: Jan 2013, BFP Sept 2013, DD: June 2014 TTC #2: Aug 2016, BFP Nov 2016, DS: August 2017
@Kathryn0903 I CANT WAIT TO SEE PICS OF BABY! My first PP period wasn't too bad, but the initial PP bleeding after birth was severe. I bled heavily, including passing large clots, for about a week. I bled for a full 6 weeks after with my firstborn. The subsequent 2, I've only bled for 3 weeks each. With DD, I EBF her, and didn't have my first period for 5 months.
@tova24 You can go ahead and put in the outlet covers & cabinet locks. You probably won't need a toilet seat lock for awhile. Move all chemicals/cleaning products/detergent/medications to your eye level or above. Door knob covers you won't need until baby starts walking.
@smallbutmighty77 Did your pump come with bottles to pump into? I'd use those, and transfer the milk to freezer bags/storage containers once you build a supply. Most pumps have adaptors you can buy that make them compatable with most baby bottles.
@caity024 Yes, the hospital will have you keep track of feedings, intake/output, etc. There are a ton of free tracking apps. Looks like I used Baby Tracker last time, but I'm gonna check out Babyconnect after seeing so many other mamas using it!
@Kathryn0903 my first PP period wasn't bad. I went a total of 18 months without a period (9 mos pregnant + 9 mos pp). That long without was glorious! The worst part for me was not knowing when it could start again. So just make sure you have stuff with you if it starts.
***TW in Siggy*** Me: 34 / DH: 33 Married: Nov 2011 TTC #1: Jan 2013, BFP Sept 2013, DD: June 2014 TTC #2: Aug 2016, BFP Nov 2016, DS: August 2017
Cravings? All things bad for me. Mostly sweet stuff.
Rants/Raves? Like @mrsmatt1212 I can now see why the last several weeks of pregnancy are zero fun. I'm just ready. My back hurts sooo bad anytime I sit down, and I'm just so uncomfortable in any position. A good night sleep has gone bye bye and I feel like everything I do is such a chore (walking, sitting, getting up from sitting, etc). Also I'm super emotional right now and basically cry at the drop of a hat. And I just found out that my mom started smoking again and I told my Dad that she's not going to be around my kid if she's smoking. Maybe that's my 3rd trimester hormones talking, but I don't want him subject to that. Any other mamas have to deal with that? My mom smoked when she was pregnant with me and the entire time growing up. I didn't have a choice back then but I certainly want to give my son a choice now.
Questions for FTM, STM+? How do you know if the baby has "dropped"? I mentioned this in another thread but I have been getting lots of pressure on my cervix whenever he's active and it feels like he's gonna push through there at any time. It's to the point where I feel like I'm having to hold my crotch because it feels like he's gonna fall out.
GTKY: If a celebrity can play your SO in a movie, who would it be?
Prolly Chris Hemsworth. He was super yummy in all of the Thor/Marvel movies
I found out last week that my OBs group is merging with a larger group. 2/4 OBs are leaving August 1st. There's a good chance that I will be delivered by someone I don't know.
Cravings? Cold food
Rants/Raves? The thought of not knowing the OB on call after getting to know everyone in my practice makes me so mad. Why couldn't this merge happen in September:/
Questions for FTM, STM+? Did you know the OB that delivered your other child(ren). Does it even matter?
GTKY: If a celebrity can play your SO in a movie, who would it be? Will Ferrel because he has that kind of sense of humor.
The first day May 2007 The yes day April 2012 The best day Nov 2013
@BlackNYellow I met the OB that delivered DD the day before my induction. I'm pretty easy going with who delivers so for me it wasn't a big deal. For others, it may be a big deal. Just depends on the individual.
***TW in Siggy*** Me: 34 / DH: 33 Married: Nov 2011 TTC #1: Jan 2013, BFP Sept 2013, DD: June 2014 TTC #2: Aug 2016, BFP Nov 2016, DS: August 2017
@BlackNYellow I got super lucky with my OB, and she has been there for all 3 of my deliveries. I'll be having a RCS, so she'll most likely be there to deliver this LO as well. For me, it's been a wonderful experience, as she's my regular OB/GYN as well, and by this point (11 years, 5 pregnancies, and 4 babies later) we're pretty close & I look forward to my appointments.
@Kathryn0903 my first couple periods were heavy and painful like labor. Did deep breathing for the cramps lol but ibuprofen helped a ton. And I've always noticed when I take that, my period is less heavy. I assume because of the decrease in cramps?
@jacksonbears my Dr has been monitoring growth all along. Idk if it's because of the makena shots I was on or hx preterm labor, but while it's nice to know, it has caused me stress too. Like she has has barely gained weight in the past month. But Dr isn't worried. I assume the scans are just off because the tech has mentioned difficulty measuring her abd and head a couple times.
@mrsjqg1024 I've always heard with second pregnancies you don't drop until labor. But I definitely have dropped this time, too. Others can even notice. For one, the obvious is your bump looks lower. Also, able to breathe easier, increase in pelvic pain and waddling in my case lol, and increased need to pee.
@tova24 I love the "special order SO", it made me laugh! Also, I have started some baby proofing, though some things are already done because of my dog. But we put in plug covers, and are going to start other things this weekend.
@mrsjqg1024 not a STM, but I my Uncle and his partner smoke a ton! They live far in FL, so I wont see them often, but when they come around, I have made it clear that they will not be smoking anywhere near my kid, and that if they smell enough to bother me or DH, our kid wont even be near them. I have zero tolerance for their smoking (long story . . .), and will not let my kid suffer because they are choosing to smoke.

@mrsjqg1024 I'm sorry your mom started smoking again and that it's now of all times! I'd be really annoyed and your reaction is completely warranted. (I feel like I should mention that I'm a fanatical anti-smoker. Those anti smoking PSA's really worked on me)
The rules my sister had when my Dad comes to visit are- Smoking outside only, and not just outside the door, but he had to go to the end of the driveway (which was far) and smoke there. After he was done, he had to "air out" in the fresh air for a few minutes. Upon returning to the house he had to change his shirt (leaving the smoking shirt outside or in the garage) and wash his hands right away. My dad isn't a chain smoker and he's not the kind to usually light up inside his own house or car, so it doesn't cling to him the way it does some smokers.
I plan on implementing the same (only non smoked in shirts and washed hands) when it comes to our baby and smoking family members. Don't like the rules? Too bad, can't hold the baby then.

@Mango517 Thanks! Yea, I'm so disappointed in my mom right now. She's also going to be watching the baby starting in January and I like the rules that you have laid out. I just hope she actually abides by them while watching him because I obviously won't be around all the time to enforce. My DH and I plan to have the talk with her sometime this week. She's still semi-denying that she started back up again, only saying that she will have the occasional cigarette, but I know it's bs. You don't smoke for 40 years, quit for 10 months and then only start to smoke again "occasionally". I have a lot of other family members that smoke too but luckily they won't really be around the baby, only at Holiday gatherings. But I will have the same rules for them as well, and if they don't like it then, sorry not sorry!
Any appointments this week/last? How did it go? Last week. They went well! Such a relief. He's measuring right on track according to my growth u/s, facing head down, and my fundal measurement caught back up to be on track. I feel like he went through a major growth spurt the weekend of the 4th, right before all the appointments.
Cravings? I'd shank someone for some lemonade. Right now that's out due to GD, acid reflux, and my allergies to fake sugar.
Rants/Raves? We moved and it's only a week into our new town- I already LOVE IT here.
Questions for FTM, STM+? I know everyone is talking about the baby tracking app (so helpful to know!)... what app are you planning on tracking contractions on?
GTKY: If a celebrity can play your SO in a movie, who would it be?
My H resembles George Clooney... Like he could be his out of shape 2nd cousin who lives a quiet life in NJ... But both are the same height, dark, have the same facial bone structure, and have a nice smile with kind eyes.
Together: January 2002 Married: May 2008 Baby: August 2017
Clearly we like to rush along at lightning speed...
@smallbutmighty77 - on the bottles and what to pump into...I was super stressed out about this and then we went to a breastfeeding class 2 weeks ago and I realized that I will have no idea what my supply is like or what type of nipples (and therefore bottles) the baby will like until later so I had to convince myself not to worry about this stuff until 3-4 weeks postpartum (it was hard!). I have one or two of a few different kinds of bottles that I bought on sale or got off our registry to try them out. like @PinkPrincessPiper said - my plan right now is to pump into the two bottles that came with my pump (or a few others that fit directly on or with the adapter to regular bottles) and transfer into bags to freeze once I do start that. I don't want to build up too much of a stash unless we're going to use that soon as apparently the milk changes as the baby gets older to adapt to what the baby needs. DH and I both have business degrees so we were making lots of FIFO (first in first out accounting principle) jokes during our breastfeeding class when talking about this.
How far along are you? 34 weeks
Any appointments this week/last? How did it go? Nothing this week.
Cravings? Nothing, really.
Rants/Raves? I am weirdly excited for our childbirth classes to start tonight. DH is dreading it so I feel bad looking forward to it so much.
Questions for FTM, STM+? When did you/should I start discussing a birth plan with my doctor? I'm still up in the air on a few things and just realized I'll be 37 weeks when I finish my childbirth classes so might want to have something before then, just in case.
GTKY: If a celebrity can play your SO in a movie, who would it be? DH is tall, dark, and handsome (I think) with a perpetual 5 oclock shadow. I don't think anyone's ever told him he looks like a celebrity and I can't think of one either.
Any appointments this week/last? How did it go? Tomorrow
Cravings? None
Rants/Raves? LO is so HEAVY!! I'm thinking he turned since I feel kicks on my front and my ribs, and some pressure down below. I think he may have dropped too... because the pressure feels so low these last couple of days... its almost like he is in my legs! This is my last week at work... thank heaven.
Questions for FTM, STM+? Nope
GTKY: If a celebrity can play your SO in a movie, who would it be? Probably Andy Samberg? He looks the most like my hubby. I think he could play his personality off well too.
Any appointments this week/last? How did it go? Had my first weekly biophysical profile Friday. LO is measuring 30th percentile, and still breech. I'll go back Friday. We're going to a labor and delivery class tomorrow evening.
Cravings? I've really wanted juice/soda this week.
Rants/Raves? Rant: Poor DH had to deal with a record-keeping oversight at work, and has now had to fight to get his third week of vacation that he's supposed to be granted, and we're counting on for him to have any kind of paternity leave. I think it's worked out in the eyes of our boss, but not in the eyes of the company. Rave: Had a great shower this past weekend, and we have a couples shower this weekend! Looking forward to it!
Questions for FTM, STM+? I've been wondering about baby-proofing too, and I think we'll hold off until LO is moving around more.
GTKY: If a celebrity can play your SO in a movie, who would it be? Chris Pratt, the Parks and Rec version. They remind me of each other.

For my son, the US tech told me at 36 weeks t har he was measuring 7lbs15oz. He was born at 38 weeks weighing 8lbs11oz, so she was pretty accurate. I've heard overall though that the measurements are usually pretty wrong, so take them with a grain of salt.

@caity024 unless our hospital has changed, we will still be required to keep track of things via paper for their checking that LO is doing well. Side note, our hospital even tracks the oz of water I drink.

35 Weeks 6 Days!!
UGH.
when do you start baby-proofing your home? Can you start doing it (putting plugs on our outlets) and save some for later (putting cabinet locks on)?

Any appointments this week/last? How did it go?
I found out last week that my OBs group is merging with a larger group. 2/4 OBs are leaving August 1st. There's a good chance that I will be delivered by someone I don't know.

Last week. They went well! Such a relief. He's measuring right on track according to my growth u/s, facing head down, and my fundal measurement caught back up to be on track. I feel like he went through a major growth spurt the weekend of the 4th, right before all the appointments.
I'd shank someone for some lemonade. Right now that's out due to GD, acid reflux, and my allergies to fake sugar.
We moved and it's only a week into our new town- I already LOVE IT here.
I know everyone is talking about the baby tracking app (so helpful to know!)... what app are you planning on tracking contractions on?

Rave: Had a great shower this past weekend, and we have a couples shower this weekend! Looking forward to it!
