    1.  How far along:  7 weeks 3 days

    2.  Symptoms:  Pretty debilitating depression/anxiety, coupled with an aversion to all things pregnancy.  Feeling kinda hollowed-out right now.

    3.  Coping Strategies:  Lately, all I want to do is sleep.  I'm lucky that I have the support in my life to allow this to happen short-term, but after five more-or-less bedridden days, I'm realizing it's more of an avoidance mechanism than a coping one, so I'm trying to switch gears and reach out for help.

    4.  Win of the week:  I've been doing a lot of reading with DS, because it's about all I have the energy for.  We otherwise do most of our reading at bedtime, so it's been nice to reintegrate it into the day.

5:  Dogs or cats?  I have two of each, but am naturally more inclined towards cats.  I like that they're independent, but can still be very affectionate.  My one cat hasn't left my side through all of my wallowing, and she still comes running any time she hears DS cry.

  • 1.  How far along? 6w1d based on ultrasound yesterday

    2.  Current symptoms? nausea, wanting to sleep all day, and breast tenderness

    3.  Coping strategies? I am finding it easier to stay busy since I have a toddler at home this time and I'm not able to obsess over the pregnancy as much. I picked up some new library books to read after his bedtime to occupy my mind. I'm also trying to work on purging each room of the house so there isn't so much clutter to keep cleaned up. I feel a lot less anxiety when my environment is clear.

    4.  One win so far this week? Ultrasound yesterday showed a healthy baby measuring 6 weeks exactly and a heart rate of 111 bpm. My healthy son is the only pregnancy I ever saw a heartbeat with, so it really calms my nerves to know this baby is healthy.

    5.  GTKY:  Are you a dog person, cat person, or neither, and why? Dog person for sure. We have one cat that someone left in our front yard in a carrier a few years ago, but she is basically feral and only wants me to feed her and leave the doggy door open so she can get inside if it is raining. She hates being petted/snuggled, which is good since I'm allergic to cats. We have 2 large dogs who I love to pieces even though they can be a pain when it comes to housework (shedding, tracking in dirt, chewing toys, etc).

    2.  Current symptoms?
Nausea here and there, full blown exhaustion and some food aversion. Oh the bloat. My stomach has never looked so mammoth.
    3.  Coping strategies?
Focusing on making it through each day and trying to stay as grateful as possible. Whenever my mind worries I stop and list the reasons I'm so grateful and thankful. It helps me remember all the positives instead of dwelling on potential problems.
I will also say that this pregnancy seems to be going on forever. I am so excited to have the baby and just want it to be February now. I know the next 7 months will move slowly. Anyone have any coping tips for that?

    4.  One win so far this week?
I saw the heartbeat this week! Which was an incredible relief and such an exciting moment. I am still anxious about miscarriage due to a previous loss, but seeing  that little heartbeat was wonderful
  • 1.  How far along? 9W 3D

    2.  Current symptoms? Everything is actually pretty good this week compared to last. Nausea has subsided and fatigue is getting a bit better. Haven't had bloating up until now but thats starting to show up.

    3.  Coping strategies? I've just been trying to take it easy lately. House work is getting neglected as hubby is always out of town but I basically just said that I need to take a break and he agreed. So I work, come home and relax instead of stressing about getting things done.

    4.  One win so far this week? First morning commute on the bus without feeling like I was going to throw up everywhere in front of 100 people

    5.  GTKY:  Are you a dog person, cat person, or neither, and why? Neither!!! Cats are devil spawn and im super allergic to them. And I am admittedly kind of scared of dogs.

    2.  Current symptoms? All day nausea, fatigue

    3.  Coping strategies? Trying to manage the nausea, which will help me stay out of a panic attack.

    4.  One win so far this week? Sea bands

    5.  GTKY:  Are you a dog person, cat person, or neither, and why? I own 3 cats. All the love, less work than dogs.

I thought the same with my first...It felt like for...ev....er.....especially during the first and third trimesters. Now my son is 2! It really puts in perspective that it's going to go a lot faster than I think. Easier said than done, but try not to dwell on how much time there is left and enjoy where you are now with each milestone.

fatigue is my major complaint today.

going to try and nap when DD naps.

My ob put me on nausea meds and they are helping! Why didn't I call sooner?!

I love all animals. But mostly think I'm a dog person.

  • Thanks for doing this check in. I've been doing ok but I get a big anxiety spike here and there and I recently had one. Ugh.

    1.  How far along?

    9 weeks 1 day :-)

    2.  Current symptoms?

My symptoms kind of disapated in the past two weeks and I was freaking out. Today I felt nauseous again and for that I'm actually glad.

    3.  Coping strategies?

I haven't been doing a great job at my self care but I have asked/received support from some family and that helps. They are trying to reassure me and soothe my anxiety. I appreciate it.

    4.  One win so far this week?

I went home from work an hour early today and I've gone on a couple of walks this week.

    5.  GTKY:  Are you a dog person, cat person, or neither, and why?

CAT. I had dogs growing up and I do love them but the older I get the more I recognize that kitty's are where it's at. They just match my personality.
  • 1.  How far along? 9w4d

    2.  Current symptoms? Physically: nauseated and dry heaving if I get too hungry
mentally: I haven't bonded with this pregnancy and feel like I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop (for no good reason). I've also been seriously irritable which hasn't done much for my marriage or my patience with my 2yr old DD, which is leaving me feeling pretty down on myself for not coping better. Daily bouts of crying over insignificant things. Work has also been stressing me more than normal.

    3.  Coping strategies? I need to find one, I feel like I'm going to break soon which is crazy because nothing is really "wrong".

    4.  One win so far this week? Everyone is still alive?

    5.  GTKY:  Are you a dog person, cat person, or neither, and why? Dogs for sure, but only the non shedding variety. I've never had a cat and don't really enjoy them or the idea of litter boxes and hair all over.

    2.  Current symptoms? Nausea, wanting to eat everything, exhaustion, sore boobs that feel 3 times their normal size already lol Depression and anxiety are back under control thanks to my doc switching my meds. But that was before realizing my "crazy" was due to hormones, not my meds.

    3.  Coping strategies? I'm a photographer, so taking pictures and editing them put me in a definite happy place :)

    4.  One win so far this week? I helped photograph a wedding last night and I didn't feel like I was gonna puke once!

    5.  GTKY:  Are you a dog person, cat person, or neither, and why? Both lol I love the sassiness of cats but love the utter adoration that dogs show you.
  • Anyone else freaked out by the 4-5 losses that showed up in this birth month club all in the past few days? Yikes.
  • 1.  How far along? 8 + 4

    2.  Current symptoms? Nauseated and food aversions all day, indigestion, sore boobies, gas and bloating, highly irritated and no patience. Some anxiety and tired... peeing every hour and wanting to sleep. No motivation to be productive.

    3.  Coping strategies? Wrist acupressure and ginger pills along with tiny snacks throughout the day. Sleep. Stretching/yoga. The love and patience of my DH.

    4.  One win so far this week? The nausea has let up a little. I haven't completely insulted anyone with my filterless mouth yet. We get to go to the first ultrasound appt this wed and I am excited.

    5.  GTKY:  Are you a dog person, cat person, or neither, and why? Dog. Love all animals but there is nothing like having my big ole 175 lb mastiff come cuddle with me when I am feeling icky... mentally or physically. He's a big love bug.

My last pregnancy I was freaked out by them on my BMB. This time around, I try an not associate it with my pregnancy and instead offer my sympathy.  I also try not to over think it. A lot of these early losses are found out at the first ultrasound. I've already had my first ultrasound and the babies look good. Every day is one day at a time.

I am abiot freaked juat because this is my second baby but its been 8 yrs since i had my son. I do give those women credit because they are brave and strong and need support in such a hard time. I think it freaks me out the most because i havent had an us yet not til tomorrow
  • @mommaSG @meatball37 yeah my anxiety over miscarriage is still really high bc I don't get any heartbeat checks or u/s until 13 weeks, I'm only at 9. I think that will change things but it still feels really far away.
