Figured a lot of people are busy with new babies so I will start.

What does everybody have going on this weekend??

Re: Weekend randoms 7/8-7/9

  • For me..just waiting for this little guy. The waiting game sucks. Due on Tuesday and everyday I think it may be it.

DS has a baseball game and it's supposed to be 97 degrees pretty much all weekend.

    Anybody doing anything fun???

  • @Cynth0104 the waiting game is the absolute worst part of pregnancy for me. As your due date approaches, the "maybe today will be the day" is so exhausting. I know it shouldn't be that hard to wait to your date (and further) because we have 40weeks to prepare to go all the way. But the discomfort and exhaustion take over and you just want baby out NOW. The heat doesn't help either. Hoping you can find somewhere cool to wait it out!

Its gonna be a hot one here today as well, so we will be inside most of the day. I'm scared of our AC bill, but it's worth it! This evening we have friends coming over to meet LO and bring us dinner. I'm excited because she takes pretty good pics and wants to snap a few of DS and LO!
  • Getting a (much needed) haircut today and then meeting some other families for a s'mores beach bonfire tonight.  I'm only 36+6 so I'm still a little in denial that these are our final weeks as a family of three!
    Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker

  • Getting a mani pedi and already feeling sorry for the person who will have to deal with my swollen feet and hands.
  • DH and I were planning to go to a little fair down the road for lunch (AND I WAS GOING TO GET A FUNNEL CAKE) but it didn't open until 3... so we will go tomorrow after we see Spider-Man. Mostly excited for that since the movie theatre has the Coke freestyle machines so I can get a caffeine free Diet Coke  :p<3 currently doing nursery tidying and clothes size separation/organization. Only have a couple more weeks with ALL this energy  :D so I should try to get some worthwhile shit done.

Going over to a friends for ribs tonight. So pleased that I don't have to think about dinner.
  • +1 to hot weather and the waiting game! I was due the 5th but only 1cm dilated on Friday and no contractions! I had my membranes stripped and had some cramping shortly afterward but nothing since. Baby seems very comfy in there. I have an induction scheduled for Wednesday night/Thursday morning, so there's an end in sight, but what a waiting game in the meantime!

    Hope everyone is staying cool!
  • Yesterday was DH's birthday, so we're celebrating with his father after church today.  Spent a good part of today in the pool.  Now DS is napping, and I just finished my last grad class to push up up to the next pay level on my contract, Masters+30.  I'm so psyched.  There is one more level after this one (Masters+60) which would require 10 more classes.  I can't decide if I'm super motivated right now to keep going, or if I need to cut myself some slack.  Tomorrow will probably be more pool floating, and playing outside.  We'll see.
  • @Potterphile I'm looking forward to Spider-Man - planning on going Tuesday morning! I loved capt America civil war and how they introduced Spider-Man and black panther :)
  • DH, FIL, and I picked the remaining peaches off our peach tree. So we are going to make peach jelly tomorrow. DH wants to try out our pressure cooker's option for canning and see how it works. We also are going to make some peach sorbet since ice cream upsets my stomach so much.

I was planning on getting my nails done, but the heat has sapped my energy and I feel icky. Probably ate too much sugar this morning (DH bought doughnuts).

I also have been watching all of the Grey's Anatomy seasons on Netflix. Gives me something to do while I feel icky.

Today is also DSS's 9th birthday, but we don't have him this weekend :(
  • I'm just semi wasting my time waiting for my in laws to come over... I still don't know if they are coming or not which is pretty annoying (it's been their third attempt)

I honestly don't have much left to do or maybe I don't realize? Nursery is done, clothes are washed, bedrooms are ready, extras are thrown out. The only thing I have left is doing grocery tomorrow! And cooking on Monday (if I feel Up for it!) and Tuesday my parents arrive (G.B.W) <3

And Amazon is a full time butler... alls good!

@Creedon778 Let's hope so! Due date is Tuesday and I am so ready! Bring on the full moon!!
  • Lol @BusyZee "Amazon is a full time butler." So true!!!
  • This makes me so mad I could spit!  I have literally been on summer break for 2 weeks.  We don't go back to school in NY until AFTER LABOR DAY!!!
  • @chiquita928 congrats on bumping up to your Masters +30. You're a teacher, right? I won't give you advice about continuing your education because I got two semesters in and found excuses to take a hiatus   :D

I got some last minute baby items and finally got my mom to get the stroller system. I think she might've been in denial I was having a baby in the near future. Then, DH and I saw Spider Man and went to a fireworks festival. Just when the heat and crowds were getting to me, the weather got windy and chilly.

Today, DH and I are in full on nesting mode. He's putting the crib together (just for naps at first), and I'm cleaning and putting stuff away. Next step will be the hospital bag.
  • Well... This weekend was suppose to be more chill/relax, enjoy the baby, you know lay low... Well yesterday evening, my lovely husband decided to go outside and play basketball with the neighbors... He ended up dislocating his ankle and what ER believes to be a small fracture as well... But we have to see an Orthopedic this week to confirm diagnosis and see what they wanna do... When I tell you his ankle was soooo out of place, that's an understatement!!! So now... I'm almost 2 weeks post c-section, (still trying to recover myself) having to take care of 3 kids, my husband and myself... My teammate and helper is down, he can't do much, however my 9 year old is helping the best she can and I'm thankful for that!!! Might I add, the baby has started to really struggle at feeding during this time too... She's been screaming n crying, pulling away from bottle, straightening her body out, all the signs of gas... So I been doing process of elimination and she's now on Enfamil Nutramigen formula (same as what my other 2 ended up on) and finally feeding time is back to being calm and relaxed...
