Trying to Get Pregnant

WTO Friday 7/7

Re: WTO Friday 7/7

  • @nitnat007 @poandhendrix I'm so sorry about both of your pups :( That really, really sucks.
  • @doxiemoxie212 ugh... that sucks! Why does it take a guy wanting leave for management to realize oh hey... yeah... ladies get pregnant we should do something.  We're a Canadian owned company so I had SOME hope that they might have a legit leave in place, but no.  What else is new /sigh.  And omg... I would love to pull off that kind of crazy, but MH would likely be even less inclined to dtd if I did that, but good idea for the future if I get frustrated enough lol

@poandhendrix I'm so sorry to hear about your family pet :(  Hope the coffee cheers you up!

@Sailing_Mama thanks, I hope so too, he's just dense sometimes.  He has a DD (6 years old) from a previous relationship, so in his mind he knows what he's talking about *eyeroll*

@darkstar42 have fun at your meeting! But new kitties? pictures? I LOVE KITTIES!

  • @lurvleybunchococonuts I just have no shame lol. I'll make DH pull up porn on his phone and make him watch it; whatever needs to happen. Basically sex is no longer sexy in our household.  :D

@darkstar42 I am also new to OPKs (wondfos) this cycle, and I got four positives between roughly 6:30am Tuesday and 5:30am Wednesday with the 12pm Tuesday test line being darker than the control.  I'm pretty sure that I O'ed Thursday based on CM, CP, and a temp dip, but I'm still waiting on a temp rise to confirm.
  • @nanilani04 If you only got one where the test line was as dark/darker than the control, that was the only positive.
  • @poandhendrix Yeah I must be much too old to "get" dabbing.  Once I named a triangle with the endpoints D A and B and immediately regretted it.

  • @looeeze I had three OPKs as dark as the control line and one that was darker than control, for a total of four positive tests.  I tested a lot more frequently after the first positive so I'd have a better idea how long my surge might last.  I made the distinction in case it was helpful to @darkstar42 in interpreting her tests.
  • @nanilani04 ooooh ok that makes total sense. Sorry, I made a dumb assumption!
  • @looeeze No worries, I appreciate your intention of being helpful :)
  • @zamora_spin that's a really good suggestion and what I was planning to do.  I definitely tend to have to rant/get out my annoyances before I can step back and take another look at it without the emotional involvement.  I wish I could get to that point more easily without being a whiny pita first lol.  Thanks to all you gals!

  • Oh, also, I appreciate everyone's feedback about what I should do regarding my temps. I'm going to keep the earlier one with the open circle.
    Thanks all!!
  • All of you ladies are awesome! Thanks for the condolences. Appreciated.

@poandhendrix Really sorry for your loss as well. *creepy internet hugs your way*

@darkstar42 Kitties! They are so much fun! Hopefully that blue gel didn't taste good.

@wisewitch222 There is nothing better than HIO in your own bed. Gone are the days of finding it fun to do it in the car and on the beach. Your own bed is where it is at! FX that your timing was good too.

  • @nanilani04 I went to LA for a cousins wedding. Awww was wishing you were an astronomer... I have such a huge astrophysicist crush on Neil Degrasse Tyson LOL!
@poandhendrix so sorry about the dog!!! Your poor dad :(

  • @looeeze I think that might have been a little before me. I was born in 92.
@purplg8r I've never been able to post pictures unless I'm really dumb.

WAYDTGKU: temping, OPKs, sex every other day

    R/R: it's 113 degrees here today. Blah!

CS/Q: still no positive OPK even though I've had three days of elevated temps. I can't remember: is it better to take an OPK later in the day?

GTKY: Post a meme that refers to your job
  • @mileswithmyles you should get a positive OPK before you ovulate, so if you have had three days of higher temps, then you've already ovulated, and you won't be able to catch it with an OPK after the fact. Did FF give you cross hairs?
  • @mileswithmyles The general thought with OPKs is that many women have surges that start mid-morning, so sometimes FMU is too early to see the positive OPK, and if you wait until the next day to take another, you could miss your surge. What I usually do when I start to see fertile CM is one am (FMU) and one pm OPK. Everyone is different but I find that by doing them twice a day I am sure to catch my surge. I use cheap OPKs (Wondfo or Easy at Home, same thing), so I don't really worry about how many I am using, and sometimes will add in an early afternoon OPK as well once I've had a positive so I can better pinpoint when the surge ends. Generally, elevated temps occur after O. Were you using OPKs before the temp rise?
  • @doxiemoxie212 No crosshairs yet. I am wondering if this cycle will be wonky because it is my first one since having my IUD out. When we were TTC before and I went off the pill, my cycles were all over the place. My OB said that cycles should be more consistent coming off the IUD rather than the pill, though.
  • @mileswithmyles were you on the copper IUD or mirena?
  • @zamora_spin Thank you!  I've been using FMU. I bought the Wondfos because I am a POAS junkie. I've been using OPKs since CD 11 and all negative, but they've all been with FMU.
  • @mileswithmyles I went off of Mirena and had a normal cycle my first cycle, but everyone is different and some people do have an-O or long cycles after IUD removal. If you want you can share your chart, people may have thoughts on it. If you don't have CH's yet it's possible your rise isn't above coverline.
  • @mileswithmyles ah, yes, the copper IUD kills sperm/prevents implantation rather than preventing ovulation, right? Leaving a woman's cycles fairly undisturbed?
  • @zamora_spin Here it is. For some reason FF did not save my temps for a new days.
  • @doxiemoxie212 Yes. It's non-hormonal.
  • @nitnat007 and @poandhendrix I am so sorry about the loss of your dogs.
  • @looeeze what are we backing up? the existence of that intro? lol - yes, it existed
  • @looeeze YAASSS to TGIF. I was born 1982 so... I'm quite old.

@mileswithmyles Wow, you have a really wide variation in your pre-O temps (95.9 - 98 degrees) but your closed circles are telling me that you take your temp at consistent times. Is there any reason you can think of for the variation? I think FF is not yet giving you CH's because you are not technically above coverline.
  • @doxiemoxie212 *sideye*nooo, the fact that it was iconic.
  • @looeeze oh, sure, sure - also iconic. Even in the 80s/90s when I was a small human I hated that sort of design, though, lol, so I also have sort of an allergic reaction to the visuals.  :p
  • @mileswithmyles I had a regular cycle the month after my IUD was removed (Jaydess - less hormones than Mirena). I wasn't temping mind you, but had two days of positive OPK's.

@zamora_spin Hey now, I still have two years on you. We aren't "that" old lol
  • @looeeze Yes!!!  Man...TGIF was the best!
  • @zamora_spin I was coming off of noroviris when I started temping, so maybe that could explain the first few days?  Other than that, I don't know. I keep my thermometer on my nightstand and take my temp immediately.

    @nitnat007 that's encouraging! Thank you!
