I looked on the rules board and didn't see a designated day for this one, so I decided to start this thread. Hope that is cool. I noticed on the intro thread that we have a few over 35 mamas out there.
1) How are you beautiful ladies doing/feeling?
2) Do you have other children?
3) What is your favorite thing about being an over 35 mom?
Re: +35 mom check in 6/28
2) I have a 20 month old son, who runs me ragged chasing him around all day. Carrying him up and down the stairs 20 times a day counts as a workout right?
3) My fav thing about being an older mom is that I feel more settled in my life. I definitely also feel more confident and let the small stuff roll right off my back.
1) How are you beautiful ladies doing/feeling?
I've been feeling pretty good. Heartburn has been my biggest issue lately. I've still been getting in several short runs each week and hope to get to the gym to lift weights this week.
2) Do you have other children?
I have a 12 year old stepdaughter and a 15 year old stepson. Other than that, my kitties and rabbit are my babies.
3) What is your favorite thing about being an over 35 mom?
I'm happy with where I am in life right now.
I'd like to think I have more experience and maturity than I would have if I was younger. I've taught for 15 years, so I've met all sorts of kids and parents (and parenting styles).
I also hope maybe people think I'm younger than I actually am when they see I'm pregnant (since women generally are pregnant younger). Ha!!
Most of my friends and family have already had kids, so I can go to them for advice, if needed.
2) Do you have other children? One 4 year old adopted son. He and I have been having a hard time lately. He seems to be very upset about the fact that I can't pick him up anymore. My husband is having to do most of the parenting now.
3) What is your favorite thing about being an over 35 mom? I agree with the other ladies here. It's nice to feel grounded. It probably helps keep anxiety at bay with the nesting instinct kicking in. My husband and I have been married for 11 years, we're comfortable in our jobs, and have raised a son from 2-4 years old. We've got this.
2) Do you have other children? I have 2 boys - age 10 & 6
3) What is your favorite thing about being an over 35 mom? Life is so good right now and I definitely don't mind the extra ultrasounds I am getting.
