@Avrilmai If you live near any Joann Fabrics stores, I would suggest checking their schedule to see if they have classes for learning to knit!
This. I don't think I could've learned if my aunt hadn't taught me. I'll probably just look online or get a cheapie kindle book as a refresher, but it really helps to have a person showing you how your hands should move when you first get started.
@AvrilmaiI I second @lulu1180 on Joann's (or Michael's), and would also suggest looking into whether you have a local yarn store that might offer classes. Ours does a really cool series of beginner knitting classes once a month (you can go or skip as you please, you just have to register in advance). I primarily learned via books, Google, and youtube, but I already knew how to crochet and I feel like that helped in some ways. I already had a "feel" for working with yarn. That said, once you get started youtube is a GREAT resource for figuring out how to do some random stitch a pattern calls for.
@beanship, if you browse patterns on Ravelry, you can actually filter by skill level and find only "easier" patterns to skip by all of those fancy, intense projects that might catch your eye!
You ladies with the wood craft skills are awesome! I wish I could make stuff like that!
Here are a couple of my coloring book pages. Honestly these are the most complete pages because I love these really complex coloring books and just start coloring at random and a lot of the time don't finish
@mamasaurus12415 I find patterns everywhere! Pinterest,
other places online, actual legit patterns from craft store, and old
hand-me-down ones from my family. Sometimes I make my own.
hedgepig I’ve dabbled in quilting. Working on a lone-star
quilt right now for my dad. Only ‘finished’ quilt I guess is the civil war 9
square pattern quilt I did several years ago.
I’m going to have to check out Ravelry…. Good thing I’m at ‘work’ today! I'm into all things crafty. I crochet, embroider, quilt, sew in general, bake, decorate... I'm not such a fan of knitting (sorry knitters).
Afghan I crocheted for my dog (because, doesn't every dog have an afghan made by their mommy? )
Some cakes/cupcakes:
Tardis Apron I made for a friend's birthday

@dpjennifer I did a lone star some years ago and it turned out great... I've actually been thinking of doing another once recently. I was still pretty new to sewing and I remember those Y seams being a real PITA Good luck with it... I'd love to see a work in progress pic, or a finished pic later on if you want to share... Your probjects are beautiful BTW.... I've dabbled in cake decorating, but have never had the patience for the more elaborate ones. Good job!

hedgepig I'll have to look for pictures of the partially assembly quilt. Oh how I wish I was as crafty as some of you are! But that is not my strong point! haha. I find awesome things on Pinterest, but know I'll probably never be able to do it!
@KristoKekerooni Lame! Maybe they'll show up later...ah well. Those flowers in that bouquet are STUNNING (as are you)!! The finished product for mine looked like this:
@zwink1 - those flowers are GORGEOUS. What a beautiful finished project. I almost did that style in my flowers, but when we decided on roses, I decided the soft shape would be redundant, so I went with the more fun pointy flowers in mine. The florist did a great job arranging them in the bouquets. I wish I had better picture of just the flowers. I wish I had seen your finished project though. The rose + paper rose shape really isn't redundant like I thought. They are breathtaking! so soft and sweet!
I forgot to share my favorite project to date that I have done! My kitchen table! I bought it at an auction for my $50? I saw it was a good sturdy wood, but the top was horrible scratched and stained, as were the sides. The cushions were utterly disgusting. So I sanded it down, Painted the legs with a chalk paint, stained the top a Gorgeous deep color, and reupholstered the chairs. It took maybe two weeks total? We moved pretty slowly.
These are horrible before and afters.I had forgotten to take them, so I just found a random snapshot of them. I wish I had a picture with the wood grain. It's gorgeous. Sorry. The before does not do it justice. It was so ugly. The table also has a really nice sized leaf that can go in, which made this table a MUST BUY. It's not pictured with the leaf, though.

@KristoKekerooni I love the skinny couch table. That is on DH's project list. He also wants to add a plug to the top because our couch blocks a prime outlet!

These were our table numbers.
Amish puzzle ball. Super quick to crochet, and very cool.
And finally, I have made a ridiculous number of hooded animal blankets of all varieties. This lion is still one of my favorites!
@AvrilmaiI I second @lulu1180 on Joann's (or Michael's), and would also suggest looking into whether you have a local yarn store that might offer classes. Ours does a really cool series of beginner knitting classes once a month (you can go or skip as you please, you just have to register in advance). Each month focuses on a different stitch and you make different squares that you can eventually attach to form a blanket.
