Re: Monday Ticker Change 7/3/17

  • 1) How far along are you / how big is baby? 22 weeks. Baby is the size of a coconut.

    2) How are you feeling? Last night was rough. I couldn't breathe laying down no matter which way I laid and I could feel my skin stretching more.

    3) Any appointments this week? Nope 24 week appointment on the 19th.

    4) Rants/Raves/Questions?

Rant- our city has an ordinance for when fireworks can be shot off and of course no one is following it this week so our whole family seems to be a little on the ornary side.

Question- anyone experiencing an itchy belly yet? What is your go to cure?  I had it with DD1 in the third trimester and the only thing that seemed to work was a gold bond lotion. This time it's starting earlier and the gold bond lotion isn't working anymore.

    5) GTKY: What holiday / special day are you most excited to celebrate with baby?

Their birthday. It has been an emotional journey getting to where we are today and the day of her birth is going to be one of the best days ever.

@MAMandeville I have a pregnancy rash and I have been using aveeno skin relief lotion (it's oatmeal based) and it helps take the itch away something like this may help.

    1) How far along are you / how big is baby?
21 weeks!! Baby is the size of a endive or a carrot

    2) How are you feeling?
I have been feeling good this week!

    3) Any appointments this week?
I have a check up appointment Wednesday which we should find out if baby is a boy or girl. Can't wait to find out so we can start getting the baby room ready.

    4) Rants/Raves/Questions?
    Nope not this week.

    5) GTKY: What holiday / special day are you most excited to celebrate with baby?
I am excited baby will be here in time for Christmas, we get to see lots of family around this time of year and I know our family is excited for this little one to arrive.
  • Ooo @kdw89 good idea! I was just at the store this morning I will have to make another run soon before the holiday rush hits.
  • 1) How far along are you / how big is baby?
20-21 weeks; banana according to apps, but baby was bigger at AS

    2) How are you feeling?
Physically, I am doing well aside from my hands swelling when I am outside for a bit. I took my rings off and might run to Kohls for a cheap cubic zirconia set in a larger size. Emotionally, talking to my sister about a baby shower theme upset me. She and DH questioned if I really wanted to incorporate rainbows into it because that was "living in the past". I said I wanted to acknowledge what we've been through to get to this baby. I cried my eyes out. They both felt bad.

    3) Any appointments this week? Wednesday with regular OB for check up; last one was at MFM for AS

    4) Rants/Raves/Questions?
Nope, but like I said on another thread, baby's movements are becoming more frequent. I was amazed at feeling 17 kicks in a short period this morning. I haven't used my Doppler in a long time and I'm proud.

    5) GTKY: What holiday / special day are you most excited to celebrate with baby?
I'm not going to count birth, although DH agreed we won't have our families come until the day after he is born so we can celebrate him by ourselves. I am hoping he's here by our 5 year dating anniversary on 11/30. In some ways, that's just as special as our wedding anniversary, if not more, to me.

  • Aww @NYTino24 I am sorry your sister and DH upset you with that. I think rainbows would be a beautiful theme. I personally would have probably said something like "this is our rainbow baby who is in the present." but I would also have been upset because I would want out two angel babies celebrated too.

I hope they see it your way soon. I will be praying for you.
  • @MDMandeville Thank you. I haven't cried like that in a while. The dog even noticed and kept looking at DH like, "Do something!" He kept pawing me to try to comfort me. I'll probably explain more tomorrow when we do the PGAL check-in.

@kdw89 Yay for finding out! Do you have a guess?

  • @NYTino24 that is so cute that your dog does that with you. I could be crying and our dog wouldn't care but she will run and find me if DD is crying. I bet yours will do the same with your little boy.
  • @MKMandeville It's our in-law's pup. We are dog sitting and he's my BFF. DH is allergic to dogs, but he's a hypoallergenic Maltese. We have decided it won't be fair to have pets since we work a lot and want to travel without boarding them. Plus we're lazy and don't want to get up and walk a dog all of the time. I'm home for summer and he's good company, but just not our thing.

@NYTion24 all along I felt like baby was girl then after my A/S I was like nope I am thinking Baby might be a boy. DH and I both want a girl but will be happy either way as long as Baby is healthy and happy.
  • 1) How far along are you / how big is baby?
    21 weeks, a baseball hat

    2) How are you feeling?
Feel great during the day.  Get tired easily and lots of stretching/soreness in my abdomen.

    3) Any appointments this week?
    Not until 7/20

    4) Rants/Raves/Questions?
Rant - People commenting on my size.  Had lunch with DHs family and everyone except SIL/BIL made a comment on how large I am or only talked to me about baby.  I am more than the human I am gestating!

    5) GTKY: What holiday / special day are you most excited to celebrate with baby?
All of them!  So exciting to see things through their eyes!
