Okay to use expired meds?

I have a friend giving me her leftover Gonal F, unopened and refrigerated properly. They expire this month and I would need then in two weeks. Are these still okay to use? I am OOP and she had 1200ui unused after her IVF protocol, I would be paying $1800 for this OOP.

    I'm not a doctor, so I can't give medical advice. 

    My RE gave me permission to use meds up to 6 months expired between fertility treatments as long as I properly stored them. They would also take meds close to expiration for donation to other patients. 

    I would check with your doctor, most are ok with it, and appreciate the honesty.

    Ditto @cowboycorgi -- ask your doctor. Some drugs are totally fine after their expiration date, especially if it's a matter of a couple of weeks. Others can spoil pretty quickly. Since gonal-f requires refrigeration I'd worry it's in the latter category, but your doc can say for sure.

    Doc okayed up to 6 months after exp date as long as they are stored properly!
