Ok, after seeing all the fuss about Big Brother here, I made DH watch tonight's episode with me. HOW DO PEOPLE WATCH THIS ALL SUMMER? It's like watching paint dry! I love me some bad reality tv, but shiiiit. It's SO bad! Am I missing something? Someone enlighten me!
The first couple of weeks are hard as everyone is getting to know people and being kind of nice. It usually ramps up after 2-3 weeks and things start getting interesting.
I mean, tonight was basically just introductions. Imagine if you only read the intro thread here; you really wouldn't be getting the full picture.
ETA, also if you've never watched before it's going to take you some time to learn the game so you can't speculate about who's going to do well and who's going to crash and burn and that's half the fun at the beginning.
It's cloudy here, and I had a really hard time dragging myself out of bed this morning. I've decided that I want to make a Tempur-Pedic cocoon that I can hibernate in. Maybe lined in silk or cashmere. I feel like that's not a lot to ask for...I just want to be constantly surrounded by silky-soft memory foam. I don't have a Tempur-Pedic mattress, just a pillow in a silky pillow case. That's the inspiration for my new invention, the Tempur-Pedic Cocoon. I'll add it to my (imaginary) product line, which already includes Fertility Medicine Modesty Pouches.
@looeeze Now I want a Hush Pod, too! Although it's not very portable. They talk about using it in an airport, but you'd have to wheel it around on a luggage trolley.
@looeeze I'm picturing myself sitting in my pod at home, and then when DH comes up to me and starts into a long, complicated story about his day at work I just close up the pod.
@icecubeinthedesert Thankfully our basement isn't finished and we store everything in plastic tubs so nothing got ruined. It's supposed to rain again today and tomorrow though.
@antoto I'm in Illinois. It's not quite as bad as Michigan. My boss was there last week and had to delay getting home because of all of the flooding.
@pebbledam, Hillary's speech was great! A very well-researched and eloquent defense of libraries as serving an important purpose in the times we're living through. It meant a lot to me to be there and I got a really good seat only six rows back!
There was actually a ton of media coverage and CNN live-streamed it, which was pretty cool.
@adirat, it hadn't occurred to me that it was deleted (could be because of all the other drive-bys cluttering the board). But seriously sounded more like a high school project to me. She could have learned a thing or two, and not from the answers to her questionnaire!

@fishsticks-n-custard it can be seen on a recent post, and the post itself is very sweet and emotional and one that makes me empathize with her so hard...but then I was all "wait what's that" and then "ohhhhh man no way."
@kmalls Her instagram feed makes me realize that I don't think I have a single photo DH & I kissing except for maybe one from our wedding. And.... I'm ok with that.

@fishsticks-n-custard My H and I take kissing photos for our personal scrapbooks (I'm old at heart) but I don't share them with the world because no one else cares. Even our wedding photos only have a handful of us kissing.
