Black out shades or window treatments

I want to get black out shades/ window treatments for the nursery. The one window in the room faces the street and east. It gets super bright when the sun shines through in the mornings. Does anyone have them or know of a good place to get them? I don't want to spend a fortune, but honestly, how much can it cost to do one window?

we got some shades for our closet window from BBB. i don't remember how expensive they were, but they block the sun out for sure.

We got black out hunter douglas blinds from Costco. Worth every penny.

Depends on how big the windows are. Bed bath and beyond have some nice ones from eclipse as well as walmart. They come in plain colors but do the trick. 20-30$ a panel.

I've made them before from regular curtains and then you just buy the black out material from the material store and sew them on the back. Good luck.

Depends on how much you want to spend. We got some custom made for our bedroom and they were about 500/window. They were also made in dupioni silk so that definitely jacked the price up. However you can do it for far, far less by going to Target/Walmart/etc or make them if you know how to sew.?

I have found good black out window treatments at BBB, Lowe's and a linen specialty store.

PLEASE READ If you have double-paned windows - DO NOT tint the windows yourself. My parents did this, heat built up between the double panes, and the window shattered. They are having a professional come and replace the window with double-paned tinted windows from the manufacturer (who does it in the proper way so the window does not break). Other than that, GL!

LOL! That is awesone.

Thanks for all the help girls! I have some cash on a Walmart gift card, so maybe I'll head over there soon to take a look at what they have.
