Re: Wednesday Ticker Change - 6/28

  • 1. How many weeks are you? What size is baby?
13 weeks, size of a lemon
    2. How are you feeling?
Still dealing with the night nausea and this stupid massive bloat that comes along with it at the end of each day. I feel like I am going to burst. I go lay down in bed at 8 pm every night now so I can be pant-less in peace.
    3. Any appointments this week?
    None
    4. Rants/raves/questions?
Just excited to be basically in the 2nd trimester now. Also looking forward to being off 5 days in a row this weekend.
    5. GTKY: What's your favorite 4th of July memory?
I can't pinpoint one specifically. I enjoyed lighting fireworks with family and spending a lot of time at the lake as a kid. Maybe this year will be a new favorite 4th memory? We are going to Maryland this year to spend time with DH's family. I'm really looking forward to it. We are going to see my SIL's new house, get crabs, hang out at the pool. I'm sure I'll be more than ready to come home, but I'm looking forward to it at the moment. We also will be sharing the news about baby #2 with them!
  • 1. How many weeks are you? What size is baby?
    11w - size of a golf ball!

    2. How are you feeling?
    Good, getting some energy back.

    3. Any appointments this week?
Today, we had our first appt. with my OB's office after graduating from the RE. The NP used the doppler and found the heartbeat before we went back for the U/S appt. That was really cool!  U/S looked good, showed baby at exactly 11w and a HB of 172. Scheduled next follow up for 4 weeks from now, but NP offered a doppler check appt. in two weeks if I wanted it, due to my history. She wanted me to have the option for reassurance. I thought that was so kind.

    4. Rants/raves/questions?
Really excited to have some time off next week. Also excited to have my first MFM appt. next Wednesday. We will do an NT scan and I believe we will also get to do the free cell DNA testing. Even though my egg was 27, my AMA qualifies me, so we will get to learn the sex early!

    5. GTKY: What's your favorite 4th of July memory?
Since 2011, DH and I have gone to New England for the 4th . We have some friends that live outside of Boston and together we all go up to Vermont for a camping trip. It is beautiful and peaceful and fun and we are completely unplugged. Not going this year due to the pregnancy (specifically due to my risk factors, medications, and monitoring), but we will return as soon as we can. It is one of our favorite traditions that we have established for our family and I can't wait to share it with the babe.

  • 1. How many weeks are you? What size is baby? 13 weeks, which is awesome… and the baby is the size of a clown fish!

    2. How are you feeling? GREAT! I randomly puked last night (in public!) but that hasn’t happened in over two weeks. Overall, I feel very large and I swear my lungs are cramped already, but I feel GOOD.

    3. Any appointments this week? Nope… next one is July 13.

    4. Rants/raves/questions? I’m just excited that we closed on the house and to be looking at the glorious second trimester.

    5. GTKY: What's your favorite 4th of July memory? Hilariously, it is when DH was married to someone else and my good friend and I were over at their house. This is back when I still drank, and we ate food, drank, had fire works, and stayed up ALL night. Fun all around!

@jakobaby  UGH the evening bloat is no joke. I’m super uncomfortable.

@fivetimesnoluck Yay for the positive US!

  • 1. How many weeks are you? What size is baby?

12 weeks size of a plum
    2. How are you feeling?
Much better this week. I still have some nausea in the evening but definitely better than all day
    3. Any appointments this week?
Not this week but next Wednesday!
    4. Rants/raves/questions?
    None
    5. GTKY: What's your favorite 4th of July memory?
Nothing super special, just watching fireworks with family
  • I have always wanted to spend some time on the Chesapeake Bay, eating blue crabs. I hope you have a great time on your trip, @jakobaby. I have driven through on I-95, but never spent any time there.

So sorry for the random puking, @EmilyLove25 - that's not pleasant at all, but really glad you're feeling good overall! And congrats on the house - I can only imagine all the nesting you will get to do as you move in and start to get settled!

Your story about July 4th memories made me remember that DH actually proposed to me on July 4th and I totally didn't think about that until you mentioned your DH in your post. Um, DUH! I won't tell him I did that.

But the top memory of July 4th would definitely have to be my proposal  - we went to NYC with another couple. DH's first time there. Had just bought a house about two weeks before and were poor, so I didn't expect a ring anytime soon, but what I didn't know is that DH had actually bought the ring before we bought the house. Other couple totally knew he was going to pop the question, but didn't let on. After a full day of sight seeing in all kinds of special places and beautiful landmarks, he finally proposed as we were getting ready to go to sleep on a sofa bed, in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. He had had the ring in his pocket the whole day, but said afterwards that he just never felt like any of the places (Empire State Building, Museum of Natural History, Central Park, etc.) were the right fit.... it was perfect.

  • 1. How many weeks are you? What size is baby?
12 weeks, baby is the size of a plum!

    2. How are you feeling?
Pretty good... Nausea is gone but headaches have made their appearance. I almost prefer the nausea to the headaches. Trying not to take Tylenol too much as I read it can be linked to ADHD in your child, but I'm probably just being silly. Did almost puke at my job though.... I'm an rn and bodily fluids don't bother me but carrying away a bucket of my patient's puke the other day had me dry heaving for awhile :P

    3. Any appointments this week?
I have another ultrasound tomorrow! And waiting for my Harmony results... Have been calling my Dr's office but the receptionist must be busy... They aren't picking up.

    4. Rants/raves/questions?
I'm still waiting for this second trimester glow/return of energy! Hopefully it starts soon. :)

    5. GTKY: What's your favorite 4th of July memory?
Im Canadian so we celebrate Canada Day on July 1st! And this year will be awesome as it is Canada's 150th birthday :)
  • Whew, barely made it this week. It's been a crazy day.

    1. How many weeks are you? What size is baby?
    9wks, pecan

    2. How are you feeling?
Not miserable. Definitely exhausted and evening nausea. Plus the bloat is SO real!

    3. Any appointments this week?
    Nope, two more weeks.

    4. Rants/raves/questions?
Rave:a bunch of church ladies are coming over tomorrow to help make me a bunch of food for the freezer. I'm so pumped!

    5. GTKY: What's your favorite 4th of July memory?
I love the 4th! When I was growing up we'd always have a bbq at our friends and then go to the next town over where they had an amazing firework show. Oh, and once our family went camping over on the WA peninsula and they sent off fireworks from a barge. We set on the beach and the reflection on the water was gorgeous.
