@scharle3 sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but short of genetic screening with IVF, methods to try for a specific gender don't work. If you'd like to join us, though, to try to conceive any gender child, please intro on the newbie thread and join us in WTO (waiting to ovulate). Welcome!
are there any groups about timing and how to conceive a girl. My fertile days are coming up soon and I want to try this time around. Please help.
@scharle3 Welcome to the board! I would suggest you read the pinned posts and join us on the daily WTO or TWW thread depending on where you are in your cycle (in your case, it would be WTO since you haven't ovulated yet. As for trying for a specific sex, this board is based on science and therefore don't follow the old wives tales that tell you how to try for a specific sex. And they are just that, old wives tales, because they are not based on science and even if you follow them, you are not guaranteed to end up with the sex you were trying for!

There's the shettles method but I don't know how solid the data is behind that. You might want to try the search function as I'm pretty sure this has been discussed before.
Also, welcome! If you want to stick around, there's a thread at the top with lots of good information with "Read this first" in the title. Then introduce yourself in the introductions thread.

You've gotten some nice supportive feedback so I'm sorry to rain on your parade but I just want to point out that this is a group of women trying to conceive, many who have no children and have never been pregnant. Well I think your question is fair, I do find in a little invalidating to other women who would be thrilled to just be pregnant regardless of the gender of the baby. Besides the fact that there is no proven science behind it, you should probably try the first trimester board. I'm also finding it hard to find the motivation to help you because I don't know who you are. If you decide to stick around please intro on the intro thread

@JennyColada is on point. The best way to conceive a girl is to have: sex, ICI, IUI, IVF, FET, ZIFT, or GIFT....am I leaving anything out?
ETA: Ok, I'll try to actually be helpful here. There's a book called The Impatient Woman's Guide to Getting Pregnant that I read when I first started TTC. There's a chapter in it on selecting the gender. She gives an overview of some studies on it (although I can't recall how scientific it was). Basically, the author says there are - possibly...or not - a couple of things you could do to - maybe...or not - skew your chances one way or the other regarding gender. Personally, I doubt there's good science backing any of it up.
Side note: OH the irony of that book title. I recently had a friend recommend it to me when I mentioned I was having trouble TTC. I had to sheepishly say that I'd already read it and unfortunately have a documented fertility issue that makes the book pretty moot for me.
@beanship I totally just googled GIFT acronym cause my initial thought was "Ooo... that'd be a nice present, but I imagine highly illegal to give a child as a gift"

Hey OP. There is no way at all to guarantee a boy or a girl through timing or eating specific things or anything like that. Because I have seen this question asked a few times over the years I have even gone through studies looking specifically at this. I found a clinical study that looked at specific days a couple conceived on and they found ZERO correlation to timing and sex of the baby.
Just go have sex with your husband and then if you are very lucky you will get pregnant and have a wonderful baby. Can that be good enough?
Because I actually do get to choose the sex of the baby I hope to have. Because I'm infertile and going through IVF with chromosomal testing to limit the likelihood of loss. So I happen to know the sex of the embryos.
Hi OP! I had great success in conceiving a boy my first time around and it was really hard but of course SO worth it because a child's genitals aligning with you particular preference is SUPER important.
*tw loss mentioned* So first I tried every month for 12 months, timed perfectly by tracking my bbt and using ovulation tests. Then I went to a reproductive endocrinologist who poked my with sharp needles and then injected dye into my uterus while watching it on film. Then I took a bunch of drugs and got probed by a vaginal ultrasound once a week for 3 months. Then I took more drugs and got turkey basted with my husband's sperm every month for another three months. (Minus 2 breaks because of giant cysts on my ovaries.) Then I took out a loan for $14k and subjected myself to injections twice a day for two weeks, had 23 eggs retreived, bled from an ovary into my abdomen, stayed in the hospital overnight and shelled out another $3k to have our embryos we worked so hard for genetically tested. And then POOF! Pregnant with a boy! Only to then lose that pregnancy for unknown reasons.
What you're asking is stupid on so many levels. Why skip fertile days and risk your chances at getting pregnant so your baby will be a certain sex?
