I have my first round of GD testing in the morning and the paperwork doesn't say if I'm supposed to fast or not. Google seems split over it. Anybody here know?

@thatlauragirl this response is too late for you (hope it went well and that you don't feel residually terrible) however, in my experience it seems to depend on your OB. some will specifically instruct you to fast. some will specifically instruct you to eat, and what to eat. some will leave you hanging.
FWIW, my OB says the 3 hour must be fasting but the 1 hour you should eat something protein based first thing before you go. they're probably hoping more people pass that way and that you feel less awful afterwards.

This advice is probably too late for OP, but sharing for everyone else.
I've also seen it all over the place. Although I think almost everyone I know who was told to fast failed the 1 hour test, but then pasted the 3 hour test. The ladies who were told to eat a protein-rich breakfast seemed to pass it fine.

@Tennis11785 With both pregnancies I have failed both (1 and 3 hour) even after eating a protein rich breakfast. My insulin resistance is just awful when pregnant.
Is there a specific time in your pregnancy you're supposed to have this test done? 4TM, you'd think I'd know, I remember doing the test in the past with my other babies but I totally forgot when I had it done... 15 weeks? 20 weeks? 25 weeks? ugh, too hard to think back. I'll be 18 weeks in a few days and my doc hasn't said anything about it.
@Tennis11785 I failed my 1 hr with DD and o ate normally but passed my 3 hour fasting. I went to my 1 hour st like 3pm. I feel this was too late. Will schedule for morning this pregnancy
@eazybreezy225 my doctor doctor typically does them at 28 weeks. But due to my family history of diabetes she ran one on me today at my at 14 week appt. (I'm technically 13 w,2d) and said she plans to run it again at 28 weeks.
Thanks again, everyone! It went okay and I had a light snack with no sugar beforehand. It's crazy how every office seems to have a different protocol!!
@eazybreezy225 My OB normally does it at 28 wks but because I'm AMA, they do it at 16 wks and then repeat it at 28.
