  • @allycheer00 Hey! I'm waiting to ovulate so I can start estrogen priming. I'm all thrown off because I'm in a **TW post MC cycle. But after I ovulate I'll get us and bw to confirm and start estrogen several days after. I have an appointment for us and bw on 7/11 so if I'm lucky and have ovulated I'll be in cycle prep. After I have my period I'll be stimming.
  • Yay! Hope all goes as planned. What is "bw"?

Thanks @allycheer00 & @dragonette505!  Of course nothing can be easy in this process but I should've already known that going into round 4... I'm just going to go for it as whenever I get the green light!

I'm on Gonal F Menopur cetrotide & Ovidrel as a trigger -- most likely will be adding in HGH too.
  • @dragonette505 - I'm doing IVF in July! I think no one had started the July board yet... I started the June board, but turns out I won't actually start stimming until Jul 5. I did not love the month of suppression. So much waiting!

Also, sorry for your MC. Ugh. I hope everything goes smoothly for you with the bw.

    @allycheer00 - I'm on an antagonist protocol. :)

@allycheer00 cetrotide is the antagonist I believe, it's to keep you from ovulating early!  It's the same as ganirelix if that's on there too. Last cycle I did five days of it; it's not bad but I do get itchy at the injection site so icing before helps!
  • @allycheer00 Hey, I've done two rounds of microdose lupron... some of my best numbers with that protocol. I'm with a new doc so I'm going back to an antagonist protocol: starting with estrogen priming then follistm, menopur, hgh, triggering with lupron and hcg. Then using crinone gel.
  • @funkykey Hey! The wait can seem endless.... then it's all go go go with stimming and monitoring.
  • @allycheer00i think cetrotide is like ganorelix which basically keeps you from prematurely ovulating when stimming
  • Hi there! Looks like I'm getting in the game! I'm starting Suprefact nasal spray this weekend. Looks like I'll be stimming in late July/early August. First IVF cycle here... what a way to spend your summer, huh?
  • @megmac2010 Yeah! We're in summer school! But really, what better way to spend your summer (since I can't go to any Zika zones!) lol
    :)
  • I just started stimming, on day 4, will be doing retrieval early July. I've been posting on the June thread. It's my 1st IVF, my clinic calls it the Demi halt protocol. Lupron for 11 days then Folistim & Menopure for stun. I'm also on letrozole to keep my estrogen levels lower.
  • I'm doing July FET hopefully! We had our ER already now awaiting PGS testing results which hopefully will be done by Friday. Just started birth control today. We have 9 that are being tested. Fingers crossed for some good test results. Good luck ladies!
TTC 4 years. 7 failed IUI's with either Clomid, Femara and/or Trigger Shots. Started IVF journey in February 2017. Polyps removed in May. 1st IVF Transfer September 26th. BFP. Expected due date 6/14/18. Baby boy born 5/25/18 at 6 lb 9 oz. My bundle of joy.

@Holls214 That's an awesome amount to test!!!
@Hopeful_mom Yeah I have 3 frosties left. I always intended to to another round, but my DH wanted to do a transfer. Obviously if it had worked we'd be set. But hoping we get lucky and this cycle does it for us! :)
  • @dragonette505 @Aera11 Thanks for giving me the info on that med. This is my first cycle and I'll admit that I don't completely know what's going on yet. The nurse ordered my meds.

  • @dragonette505 I think it's the long Lupron protocol, but my clinic just calls it demi halt for some reason, and they just added the letrozole on top of it for me.

@allycheer00 surprisingly good but fat, was expecting to not feel the bloat as quickly but it's not too bad other than that. I couldn't sleep on the Lupron but with the Folistim & Menopur I'm sleeping better than normally. I had a day 3 ultrasound & can already clearly see follicles so the bloat makes a little sense. FX that there r no cysts for u thurs! Waiting to start & not knowing if this all was going to work was pretty hard.

I'm cautiously hopeful for this IVF thing will work. My AFC was pretty low at 7 but they can already see 12 follicles! So it was a really happy day yesterday. We'll see if tomorrow is as good with the next ultrasound!
  • I am going to be stimming in July, not sure yet when as I am doing sher protocol. I am still on BCP, I will start lupron on Monday until AF, then stop BCP and wait for AF. Start ganirelix and estrace first day of cycle, and start Folistim and menopur and clomid day 8 of the cycle. Hopefully this time it will go better, last time I ovulated on my own on this protocol :(

  • @dragonette505 yes, we did ICSI with all our cycles. Theoretically my DH sperm is fine, just a bit low on morphology, but my eggs are bad so I think they do ICSI to increase fertilization rates. Sher protocol is also called  A/ACP protocol, it was invented by Dr.Sher (from Las Vegas) and it is used for very poor responders. Basically is a antagonist protocol, but you start ganirelix (half dose) from first day of cycle to completely suppress LH, which theoretically in older poor responders damages the egg, In the version I am doing version you also add some estrogen in the first 7 days of the cycle, before stims start, to do some priming and increase egg quality/quantity.

Ok.. I asked about the icsi because of your fert rates in your siggy. I was hoping you hadn't been using it cause I was going to suggest adding it.
Are you at a sher clinic? Just curious...
So sounds like they are basically adding estrogen priming to your antagonist protocol?
ps I am actually using a sher clinic (nyc) for my upcoming cycle :)
pps I am adding human growth hormone this cycle to see if it improves egg quality... have you asked about that or do they not recommend it for you?
fingers crossed the estrogen priming does the trick for you this cycle!
  • @dragonette505
I am not a Sher clinic, because those are out of state (and network) for me so the insurance wouldn't cover much.
Yes, they do some kind of estrogen priming, although the normal estrogen priming is done before AF, and this one is done after, just before stims.
I asked my RE about HGH, but she said flat out that her clinic doesn't do it. No idea why, but I haven't insisted...

  • Hi everyone this is my first post!! My name is Sara and I actually have my egg retrieval this coming Sunday with embryo transfer on the 7th,,,fingers crossed.
My partner and I had no idea we would be starting ivf this quickly. We had a failed iui in june and after AF started my doctor just started the stims on day 2. It's been very rough on my body and am trying to stay away from googling.
wish everyone the best of luck :)
  • @marioana99 Lots of clinics do not...some aren't sure how effective it is at such a high price for their patients so they don't want to recommend it and disillusion patients. Sometimes its because it might not be recommended in a particular persons case... its usually not used right away (again its pricey) but some have found it useful. But if your doc doesnt use it its probably no biggie... just wondering if you were at a similar clinic. Sher in NYC uses it:
    https://haveababy.com/fertility-information/ivf-authority/human-growth-hormone-to-enhance-ovarian-response-does-it-work
    https://drgeoffreysherivf.com/human-growth-hormone-administration-in-ivf-does-it-enhance-eggembryo-quality-and-outcome/

@sarajasonivf back to back hormone stimulation can be brutal...I try not to google symptoms and side effects because it gets me nuts! Two things I find super helpful during cycles are acupuncture during stimming (and before if you are covered for it) and I use a yoga app (yogaglo) and do their fertility series. Because its hard to exercise during stimming its nice to do something that lets you stretch a bit but wont make you uncomfortable!

  • Acupuncture has been a godsend. First session I cried entire time and now have a few coming up exactly around the retrieval and then the transfer. iTunes music has a few really great ivf fertility mixes with affirmations. I haven't been working out at all just have been finding comfort in kissing all my students everyday ( I own a preschool ). It's crazy because for my last iui I ovulated so many eggs on my right ovary that this cycle my left is more dominant. I think I may be one of the only women that requested not knowing how many eggs I am growing. My only request from my RE is " just put 2-3 nice ones back in ".
  • @sarajasonivf Yaas Acu is awesome! I also do meditation/affirmations as needed. But these yogaglo classes are super nice...if you ever wanted to throw something else into the mix.
  • I thought I was doing so good, I was feeling so calm... And then ***TW*** a friend emailed to tell me she was pregnant again, and I just felt like: "This is f*cking b*llsh*t". Ugh.

BUT tomorrow is my last day of suppressing - thank God! Then a few days off... I start stimming a week from today!

@sarajasonivf - welcome! What medications were you on for the IUI? How old are you? How long have you been TTC? Keeping FX for your retrieval - have you had any ultrasounds yet to give you some idea of your follicles?
  • Let's see I'm 36 hubby is 40,, we have been ttc for 6 months. My amh looks great , fsh 5, sono ultrasound uterus looked good , hsg clear ,, just not getting pregnant. I was previously married and did 4 iui with my ex who was severly low sperm and we ended up divorcing.
This hubby has Slight MFI his count has improved a lot past few months thanks to pine bark and lifestyle adjustment. We just collected his sperm and count went from 11 million to 51 million :) ,,I have no known issues been tested for pretty much everything at this point. for the iui I was on femara and follistism 150 3 days ,, produced 6 eggs bfn :(
This ivf cycle RE has had me stimmimg 300 follistism for 7 days contuining the next few days and have added menopur and garilex. So in total will have stimmed 10 days.
I asked the RE not to tell me anything about egg count. I don't want to OCD about it not in my hands anymore. From what I do know the drugs are working and everything looks great.

I will  say personally I'm a nutcase. One minute I hate jason and next moment I love him. Phew that was a lot
