I'm so glad that my dogs are not afraid of fireworks because our neighbors have been lighting them off all weekend and I don't imagine it's going to stop soon.
Me and the cat that peed on my bed last week have made up and he hasn't peed on anything yet this week.
Work was a nightmare last night, but at least it was better than last Sunday night.

I am still working on learning how to leave a gif. I have read the instructions step by step about 20 times and still haven't succeeded. I'm going to try on this post so I apologize in advance if just a link or something weird shows up. I think it would be awesome to have dogs at work all the time. I loved on a dog on my lunch break a few weeks ago and it improved my mood significantly. Think of all the office drama that could be prevented if everyone had some sweet dogs at their workplace!
@pebbledam I read your sentence as "me and the cat peed on my bed last week" THREE TIMES before I finally saw the "that." I was about to ask you a lot of follow-up questions
@muggle621 I just drag and drop gifs that I've downloaded.
Sooooo what do people do with their wedding dresses? My parents moved and made me take mine and now its just chilling in my basement. I will probably never fit in it again and doubt a future daughter would want to wear it/be too tall for it (I'm 5'4" and H is 6'2".) But I love it and don't really want to get rid of it - which is silly.

@becausescience - I've been struggling with this too because there are some charities and prgrmas that will take donated wedding dresses, but I kind of want to keep it and maybe repurpose it. Perhaps make a new skirt out of the material and wear it on an anniversary? Or maybe make throw pillows for the bed? Idk, I haven't decided yet, either.

@becausescience Mine is sitting in the closet but I plan on taking mine to this cleaner that cleans it then puts it in this box with a window on it so I can occasionally gaze at the visible six inches of it I can see.
Me: 36 DH: 37 Married: 5.27.16 Baby Boy Due: 3.18.18
@becausescience My tailor offered to "preserve" mine after the wedding. I'm not sure what that even means (probably just more money for her?), but I did it anyway because my mom's was eaten by rats in our old basement and didn't want a repeat of that. I should probably open the box and see whether it's still in the same shape since it's been 7.5 years, but that would require going through my closet, so, that's not happening.
mines been on the same hanger, in the same dress bag, with the same dirt around the bottom since 2008 I used to say I should clean it but never did. I can't part with it yet. not sure when i'll be ready. a friend of mine donated hers.

@becausescience Yeah, I'm with @RVAmom315. It's just preserved in a box in our attic. At least that's where I think it is. I haven't actually seen it since the day we moved into the house two years ago.

@becausescience - Mine is in a box, but it's still at my mom's house. I'm an only child, so my mom is very attached to my things. That's fine, though. We don't have the storage space for it. My mom says maybe it can be used to make a christening gown for future babies, but I don't want to count my chickens before they're hatched because...PCOS.
@becausescience My wedding dress is in the closet in its dress bag, just like @catlady1215. Maybe get one of those preservation things from Davids Bridal and stash it away.
So. I dropped my dog off with his trainer on Friday for a two week board & train. I texted her today to see how he's doing and she told me he's having pretty intense oppositional reactions and she can't guarantee him like the program says because of how severely he redirects on her. Guys. I don't know what I'm going to do if this doesn't work. We spent $2500 on this training program because it was our very last resort with him, before having to re-home him. I love him so much and the trainer *thinks* she can at least work on some of his issues and get him to be at least a manageable family pet. I keep asking myself what if she can't? Ugh. Reading what she said ruined my day.

Re wedding dresses, well my wedding dress was super non-traditional. I bought a white/pink flowered corset, and made a knee high floofy light pink skirt. I've since worn the top a few times. The skirt I might use in a memory quilt or something.

I'd just like future trolls to know that it's really easy to find out who people are these days. Especially if you use a real pic of yourself as your avatar. You're not as anonymous as you think you are.

I'm still at my librarian conference but have to share this with an audience who will appreciate it: my brother-in-law is running for Congress and just got a new logo for his campaign consisting of his initials in a fancy font. The problem for me: His initials are CM. I don't have to tell you all what I think about every time I see it...
So...I saw that hideous, mean troll post today. I was just wondering what's up with the noodle gifs. I've been a pretty casual lurker, so I feel like I may have missed the memo on noodles.

@catlady1215, my dress has been preserved the same way, I am pretty sure it is in my mom's closet, but not sure anymore. @Mamasaurus, I am sorry about your dog. What breed and how old is he? My parents dog was in a similar situation a few months ago, and he has really made improvements in the last few months.
Thanks for all the wedding dress advice! I should probably look into having it cleaned and preserved if I end up hanging onto it. @LazyCrane What Etsy shop did you order the album cover from?
@mamasaurus12415 I hope it works out with your dog. That is a tough situation to be in.

@holly321 Thank you. He's about to turn one year old and he's a German Shepherd. I'm glad your parents dog is doing better! I'm sure that when we get him back at the end, we'll have to continue working with him. I might contact the breeder we got him from because she also trains GSDs.
@becausescience I have a small starter home now, but when we buy our forever home I plan on framing my dress behind glass in my dressing room/area. My dress was gorgeous and I wanna look at it every day.
@becausescience, it was almost 8 years ago, so the shop is no longer active (it was called sew bridal or something cheesy like that), but I just searched wedding dresses on Etsy and messaged a few people with what I wanted and asked if they could do it/how much it would be and picked the cheapest option.
@pebbledam Glad that you're friends with your cat again.
Re wedding dresses: Mine is in a garment bag in the guest bedroom. I've thought of donating it, but I want to find the right place. I'm extra curvy and short (I think we had to take 6 inches off the bottom) so I want to make sure that it goes some place where there will be someone that it will fit.
