Re: Weekend Randoms

  • Relaxing! We sent our two boys to camp for a week. They left Saturday. Boys= dogs. Camp= kennel.
And all weekend have laid in bed having scrubs marathon.  We are both teachers so we have 2.5 months ish weekend :)
This is probably last summer of doing this. :)
    It's nice and quiet.

DH and I LOVE scrubs. We binge watched it when I was on maternity leave last fall. Dr. Cox is my absolute fave!

  • I love Dr. Cox too. And Elliott!
  • Whoa same! Haha. DH is obsessed with scrubs.
  • I'm just waiting around to find out what the plans are for dinner. It's DH's birthday tomorrow so we are supposed to be doing dinner with his parents, but MIL isn't feeling well. Meanwhile I'm about to eat my arm off.
  • Fun! Teacher too here!  :) :waves:

It's nice to have DH home on the weekends as backup with our DD. She's a busy little bee! We went to storytime yestersay, fed the ducks, watched a dog dock diving contest, got ice  cream and grocery shopped.

I guess it was a lot because today I'm exhausted! DH told me to sleep in so I did some but then we got ready for church and grabbed lunch on our way home. When DD went down for a nap so did I...and I slept 4 hours! Now I just feel more exhausted. Haha

  • Nice @heatherdubrow I totally need a neighbor with a pool!
  • @heatherdubrow that's awesome about your neighbors!
@ladybug0088 um a dog dock diving contest! How hilarious/ cute was that?!
  • We are camping this weekend. BIL and SIL3 are having a baby shower tonight. They're in from out of state. I am beyond tired.
  • @TattoosandLace I hope you are able to make it through the rest of the night and have fun.

@heatherdubrow Wahoo for awesome new neighbors! I also love your SN btw. I am a RHBH fan myself. :)

  • @meatball37 thanks! The 1 year old is napping on me in the camper. The 2 year old is getting a bath. Now to just smile politely and keep my little Squish secret tonight. ;)
  • @TattoosandLace what kind of camping are you doing? I'm going RV camping with the ILs for 2 weeks next month. Kinda nervous about how that's going go with a 10mo old.
  • @the_other_mother we have three campers by the lake. Thank the good Lord we aren't in a small space with the in laws!
We bedshare and they're doing fine.
When DD1 was 7-8 months old we went camping on a hunting trip. She did really well then too. :)
  • @meatball37 Thanks! I am always and forever an OC fan! But i do watch BH and NY. I love my trashy reality TV
  • @TattoosandLace I'm hoping that's the case for us too. I'll probably just bedshare as well since DH won't be joining us.
  • @Chawk17 it was super fun! We had never watched dogs do this before so it was really cool! The dogs LOVED it! Unfortunately, DD was a little preoccupied thinking about ice cream so we only watched a few and then left to get ice cream.  ;)

  • My parents took the kids for a whole 24 hours. It made for a fantastically nice 24 hours.

@TattoosandLace I am seriously considering canceling my yearly camping trip bc of this pregnancy. I feel like I will be 100% no fun. How's camping go?
  • We've had a pretty mellow weekend here. My girls pretty much swam all weekend. Currently trying to potty train one of them and it's been going pretty good!  I used the 3 day potty training method on my first and it worked like a charm but I haven't had a weekend yet I could dedicate to that. On her own time for now

Weeeeelllllllllll, it's conplicated. If My in laws didn't blow donkey balls it wouldn't be bad. The girls are having fun. DH is getting to see his brother who he hasn't seen for a good bit of time. If it was just the four of us we would be having a fun time. :)

between lakeside baby shower for SIL3 and being left out of "family event information" (the latest was a professional photographer was hired to take family photos since BIL was home. No one told us. I accidentally found out two hours prior when I overheard someone talking about it.

spent the weekend At  a first bday, then caught up with the inlaws. I'm an awful secret keeper. It's really difficult to be around people and not just want to to say " I'm pregnant"!!!  How am I going to last another 7 weeks keeping my mouth shut?! Lmao.

@smorzandoj we were camping this weekend (tiny 16' camper with no bathroom) DH, 2yo DD and I. Thankfully my parents took the dogs. We were only an hour from home so that was reassuring. It went fine though. I was lazy so my DH and cousins wife chased the 2yo most of the time but other than that it was great and the pregnancy didn't really factor into it at all. My cousin and his wife know we're pregnant (we both have infertility in common) so that made it easier too.

  • You camping ladies are tough. The closest I get is throwing a tent in the backyard for my two oldest and my husband. I don't think they even know what real camping is

  • @sabriel1 I don't camp either. My idea of a vacation is at a hotel with a pool and drinks!

  • We usually go camping twice a month or so in the summer and I was worried about it being pregnant. We have gone camping once so far this year when I was about 5 weeks and we rented a cabin instead of a tentsite because I wanted to ease into it, and it was great! I think when we do more camping, I may try and sleep in separate tents from DH because he snores and its so quiet and I cannot deal.

  • @sabriel1 this is my first real time camping. :) I wouldn't say I hate it, but I don't know that I love it either. Maybe if this mattress had a mattress pad.

I just get anxiety about trying to get the kids to sleep in a tent. Lus, did you ever notice the size ranges are just way off. Like  8 man tent my a##.

I'm all for celebrating fur babies bdays. Have you seen the show Downward Dog? Its on ABC and if you love dogs you'll love it!
Our littlest boy Pete ( dog), just stares at the tv when other dogs are on!

  • @chucksmom15 please tell me that's peanut butter as icing lol so cute! My puggle will be 7 on June 30th and I always give them ice cream and sing happy birthday. My girls love it

@Chawk17 we love Downward Dog!!  Our lab "watches" the screen too.  Birthday boy got the first piece but had to share with his brothers.  We have a 16 year old dachshund and a lab named Chuck (my profile pic and screen name) in addition to the birthday boy.

    Thanks @heatherdubrow!

It is @seitzy3!  I think DH did a mix of peanut butter and honey for this frosting.  It's a super easy dog birthday cake recipe we found online.  What ice cream do you give them?
  • @chucksmom15 we make them peanut butter or strawberry ice cream. They love it! Sometimes for treats I will give them the frosty paws ice cream cups from the grocery store.

  • My LO will not nap this afternoon. I wish I could tell her how bad she will miss it when she's older. Although my 4yo would say otherwise. She's the damn energizer bunny

Our dog Moe ( we have 2) loves ice cream..you can't hide it from him. He turns into an ice cream slut loving on us until I give him the last bit ( I get strawberry ice cream so I can share....DH gets chocolate so he can't share!)

Also dog lovers I don't know if you have a petco..
But they sell frosted dog cookies, and dog oreos!

I just snorted at my desk from laughing @Chawk17
  • I haven't seen a weekly randoms thread. Anyone mind if I start one? Also, I think daily ones are a bit too much work. Or we could do monthly, that's what we opted on my last bmb. I'm open to whatever!
