I finished a project that was kind of stressful today (very short turnaround time requested), so I feel accomplished. Now it's time to work on my next project which is the current bane of my existence, but I'm going to ride this accomplishment high for a bit.
We are going to a local amusement park for a company picnic tomorrow. I can't go on basically anything so what am I going to do? Eat food and lay in the lazy river all day while everyone else goes and rides the rides.. I am way more excited about this than I should be. lol.
Getting to take it easy for the most part after tot swap shopping exhaustion today. Basking in my successful findings... High chair, exersaucer, bouncy seat, boppy, bottle warmer, monitor, etc. DH picked out some outfits too that I'll wash and organize. We are actually in good shape!
It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*
DH wanted me to drive our new car to my parents to get me used to it tonight while he drove our old one (it's theirs, I've been borrowing it since college) and it's the best! The car I've been driving is the one I learned HOW to drive on and gosh guys, technology is amazing. I am a huge fan of backup cameras, blind spot indicators, lane assist, auto bright lights, and being able to play music through Bluetooth. Feels good to be in 2017.
After not feeling LO move since yesterday morning (baby is regularly active in the evenings) I am now feeling lots of little kicks and movements as I type. BEST FEELING EVER!!! I know not feeling baby move for a bit shouldn't have had me worried, but PGAL brain can be a real b*tch.
@DuchessOfCambridge I am the world's biggest fan of backup cameras. I make DH install them on all our vehicles if they didn't come on them. *TW* Years ago my baby cousin got out of the house somehow and her dad backed up over her in their SUV never knowing she was there. She didn't make it. So I refuse to back up without one. You just can't be too careful.
We are taking all 3 boys to a wedding today I will let you all know in about 12 hours if it was a win or not.
We had initially planned to go sans kids, then our babysitter fell through so I wrote that on the RSVP to explain why I'd crossed out our initial "yes", then the FOTB (whom we know better than the couple) called to make it clear that the kids were definitely invited and there are many kid-friendly activities planned. So we're giving it a shot! Hold me.
My DH is helping me clean the house and I didn't have to ask for his help. I started cleaning up stairs and came down to him cleaning the kitchen and he had already had everything in the living room put away so I just had to dust and clean the floors. He sure knows how to make me happy.
DD started to perk up again with some Motrin, I know the fever will return but she asked for a pancake, bacon and eggs. I'm tired so is DH so I tried a diner near by that delivers, they almost couldn't but the ladies shift was almost over so she did it. So happy to have yummy pancakes and bacon for breakfast. Kid movies and naps for us today.
@DuchessOfCambridge thank you. She never acts sick. Temp max of 105 today, I'm pretty sure she has strep throat. Last time she got it she ended up with scarlet fever because her only sign was a rash that they thought was an allergy. I'm crossing my fingers I stay healthy.
@MaximumEffort oh my goodness. Hopefully your pregnancy hormones keep you healthy ( is that I thing? I feel like I read somewhere that that's a thing) and I'm thinking of your daughter and sending healthy vibes her way
I hope I skip strep through, so far I haven't gotten it from my patients. If DD gets worst I'll take her to my work where there is a med express so that I don't get a huge bill. DH told me that I have to move out for now, lol, who going to be the nurse here? So I sent him for more medication for her fevers and stuff to hydrate her, as well as food for us. She started the rash and red spots but told me "im hungry now, what do we have that's healthy?" Sweet girl.
@MaximumEffort Hopefully an increase in appetite is a sign that she's getting better
DH and I went out with 4 of his friends to an escape room thing. It definitely wasn't a super nice one but it was only $20 per person (opposed to $50). We had to solve clues to open various locks to find weapons to fight zombies, except on the final lock we had the combination but couldn't get the lock to open. The guy had to come in with bolt cutters because the lock was apparently broken. And then another thing was broken too. It was fun either way. We also got to have sex which is a win because we're still visiting his parents and have to time it when no one is home. Last week his sister who is my age randomly came over when we were going at it and we didn't know. At first we thought she had just got there but then she told us about how our dog Daisy had just been making funny noises on her lap for 10 minutes straight. I was mortified. We can be quite but his parents' guest bed/DH's old bed is loud AF.
I went to a party where I thought I'd see a few high school friends and actually saw A LOT of them, all male friends (most all of my friends have always been male) I hadn't seen most of them since before I was pregnant with DS, and DS of course wanted to get in the pool. I sucked up my pride and got in a bathing suit in front of soooo many of their child-free significant others. Total win for me because I've always been self-conscious and they were all gorgeous and well groomed.
I got mostly compliments, although a few of them made jokes about how weird it was to see me so pregnant since I was "basically a dude"
We went through all the clothes given to us and sorted by size and decided what to keep (some was realllllly stained and crunchy), put the second pantry together and reorganized the whole kitchen creating about 3 empty cupboards and 2 empty drawers and making it easier to see what we have and made spaghetti sauce for dinner and to freeze. Now I am tired though and need a nap.
Carseat and crib: ordered! I also FINALLY figured out hoe to get all the boxes checked so that I could order my Amazon welcome box! Yeah! Also, I cooked Sunday lunch in the crock pot so after church it was a hot lunch and we were all cleaned up before 2! I am planning an 1 hr nap!
DD finally figured out how to pedal her bike with training wheels. She mastered pedaling her tricycle, but couldn't figure out that the bike was the exact same concept! Lol happy for her, now she can keep up with big DS
DD is back to her hyper self and has been fever free since yesterday. Once she got the rash to her feet I made the decision to take her to the hospital where I work. I've had all temps, medications and activities charted since the day before so it was easy for the Dr to follow. Helped that I worked there. Got some antibiotics for the strep throat/scarlet fever so after tonight she's no longer contagious.
We finally got our new van! I'm so excited to get it all kitted out so we can get the kids in it and I can start driving it around. DH is rather fanatical about getting it ready (floor mats, seat covers, etc) so much so that he didn't take the van and left me stranded at home while he went and built a deck with a friend of ours. We've got stuff on order, so it's just a matter of getting the items and installing them all! #vanlife
Yay @britduhr I didn't throw up either! It's been almost a week! I ate all the food here on our trip to DC/Charlottesville. We go back today. We had a really good weekend, just exhausting. Today is still counting for me as weekend since I'm on vacation so we will see how many more wins I can muster.
