GTKY: Tell me about something you didn't understand when you were a kid that seems simple now. Oh man, I don't know, calculus? I'll need more coffee before I can come up with a deeper answer than that.
R/R: This has been a very long week and I have gotten nothing accomplished.
CS/Q: I called off my appt to get provera because of course I ovulated 3 days after I called to set it up. I know there's no research confirming/denying that delayed ovulation is inherently bad, but I'm not going to waste optimism on a cycle where I O'd on CD 60.
GTKY: I remember asking my mom how newspaper vending machines (I actually just had to google what those things were called) worked. I just couldn't comprehend that you had access to ALL the newspapers when you put in your money. I think I spent too much time papier mâché-ing as a kid.
ETA - Apparently, I can't just turn papier-mâché into a verb. Clearly Fench is something that is not simple to me, even as an adult.

@pebbledam Yay for ovulation! I know that you are probably feeling worn out and jaded that you had to wait 60 days for that O, but I'm glad that it came for you! I'm laughing at your newspaper vending machine answer. It always seemed so scandalous to me, as a kid, to give people access to all the newspapers when they only paid for one. Dangerous! Re: calculus- I had to do a lot of it in school, so it became easy by default, I guess. I was actually only 2 classes away from a math minor, but by the end of my degree program, I was so tweaked out on coffee and ready to be done that I said nope and just graduated without. Looking back now, I wish I had just gone ahead and done it.

R/R: we settle on the sale of our house today, last night we took the kids to see if one last time, and it heart breaking watching them. @kbamomma33 coffee and doughnuts is a great way to start your day. Especially a birthday doughnut, I don't know what that is but I'm imagining lots of sprinkles. @pebbledam Haha, I love that you papier-mached so much that you saw the paper vending machines as a gold mine! @kiwi2628 I think a lot of us feel that way when we read the news @Augusta108 Have a great time! @looeezeSEE! Traumatized lol. Hope your pup is ok. I have had a few dogs over the years that have been so terrified of storms. Would have to sit in the bedroom with the tv blasting to try and stop them from hyperventilating. By boy now, couldn't care less though.
R/R: I feel so sick today and I need a nap... that is all! =/

GTKY: Tell me about something you didn't understand when you were a kid that seems simple now.
HAHA literally how a baby is made... had a strange conversation with my mom when I was 10 maybe... I thought guys just peed on women and that was how babies were made. I mean I was sort of close, right?
R/R: the electric company was back this morning. We bought this apt in 2010, and then in 2012 we subletted it while DH was in law school. So obviously we closed our account with the electric company here. We moved back in a year ago and they've refused to setup an account for us so we haven't paid electricity in a year (I know). They show up every 6 months threatening to turn off the power but then they just want a name and number to setup an account. But they never call. So then we call and "oh that account is closed though and we can't reopen accounts." WHAT THE FUCK! We're going to at some point get a bill from them for like $50k.

When I was 4 I distinctly remember saying the following to my mom, "Dad is a liar. He says the people in the tv aren't real. Obviously the cartoons are fake but he's trying to pretend Hey Dude isn't real! You have to tell him to stop lying!!"
PS anyone else remember the show Hey Dude on nickelodeon?
@looeeze your poor puppy! My dog barks at everything but for some reason she's okay with thunder (but if you're in a room where she can really hear rain on the windows then she barks)
@catlady1215 boo about the rain!! I hope it clears up!!
@doxiemoxie212 seriously about the electric company???? Why can't they either reopen the account or start you a new one?? It doesn't make sense! If you're talking about Hey Dude! Then I loved that show!!

R/R: I've been super superstitious and havent bought any baby things at all during this TTC process. But. A mom in one of my running groups was selling a jogging stroller for $100. This one is normal $450. I couldn't pass up the deal so I bought it!
CS/Q: yesterday was definitely a fluke. Big temp drop today. It doesn't reach this cycle's coverline because it was so low this cycle but it would have been below the coverline for every other cycle. So basically just waiting to start spotting.
GTKY: Tell me about something you didn't understand when you were a kid that seems simple now. Not sure about this one.
Once again my west coast ass is very late to this party!
@kbamomma33 Pretty jealous of your breakfast right now!
@pebbledam Yeah the late O pessimism set in for me last cycle too, so I don't blame you. BUT I do feel better now that I know other people researched and didn't find anything conclusive (of course I didn't get KU last cycle so not that hopeful...). BUT at least you can start fresh soon if this cycle doesn't work. The frustration for me once I was in the TWW was mostly the waiting to get a new one.
@kiwi2628 Yeah a lot of people suck. It's easy to fall into the trap of "maybe they just never learned this thing and it's society's/their parent's fault!" But no. Some people just suck on their own accord with no legit explanation.
@looeeze That is probably one of the more INTJ GTKYs I've ever seen.
@catlady1215 Sorry your weather isn't cooperating with the calendar.
@KSMcClary I am dying hearing your kid self's views on baby making.
@doxiemoxie212 I definitely remember Hey Dude. I wasn't super into it but I totally remember the intro/ranch.
@purplg8r Sorry about your temp drop. I am SO with you on the superstitions -- in fact, my mom is super superstitious and she thinks no one should buy any baby stuff until birth or immediately before. So I have ZERO kid stuff except for a few books I kept from when I was a kid.

R/R: Rant: Made the mistake of temping, and not even consistently, this medicated cycle. Got a big temp spike today but woke up late and yesterday only a small temp rise. IUI was Wednesday so now I'm all BSC on the internet like "trigger shots never work late, do they???" I'm hoping either my body doesn't heat immediately from progesterone (which would make sense b/c of pervious cycles), OR I was just Oing for a long time because of multiple clomid eggs. AGH I shouldn't have temped! Rave: Driving far as hell today for a concert as a late bday gift to MH. Should be fun!
CS/Q: If you can quell my fears stated above, please by all means.
GTKY: Tell me about something you didn't understand when you were a kid that seems simple now. I think I have to go with @kiwi2628 on this one. I used to think all people were inherently "good" and just "misinformed" or "hurt" or whatever and now that I'm older that seems like such a silly notion because clearly a lot of people are just shitty. And even if they have a reason to be shitty, does that really matter in the end when we're all forced to pick up after their BS? I don't think so. No one gets a pass for sucking anymore in my book.
@doxiemoxie212 I remember thinking similar things about "real" people on tv when I was a kid too. Blew my mind when I learned they were pretending to be other people.
@purplg8r sorry about your temp drop. I have a stroller and car seat hidden away in an upstairs closet that I pretend don't exist but I also couldn't say no to, so I feel you.
@kbamomma33 um a cake cake donut sounds amazing! I love donuts. Yes please test! @pebbledam Yay for ovulating! @kiki75 do you normally have breast tenderness during your tww? I usually get super sore nipples before and after O but that's it. @doxiemoxie212 that's really weird about your electric company! @purplg8r sometimes you can't pass on a good deal! Hi everyone, I posted last week in the newbie/intro thread - this is my first official posting!
Month/Cycle: let's call it 13/13
CD/DPO: 24/?
Timing: I'm not temping but I am tracking CM. BD'd every 2 days while I had EWCM
Testing: not sure if I will
R/R: I took my 1 year old puppy to a cardiologist today because he was diagnosed with a ventricular septal defect in his heart as well as a grade 3 murmur. we found out he does NOT have to have heart surgery so I'm very relieved!
CS/Q: n/a
GTKY: Tell me about something you didn't understand when you were a kid that seems simple now. This makes me seems totally incompetent but until I was probably 21 I had an extremely difficult time with pumping gas. I didn't know for several years about clipping the latch on so you could walk away while it pumped and I would just stand there holding the lever down. I drove away from a pump one time because I couldn't figure out how to work it and to this day pumping gas gives me anxiety.
KSMcClary mispanda I totally agree with you about being mind blown about what sex was. I remember watching this show called 'A Baby Story' on TLC as a kid with my mom and I would ask her what people meant when they said they were "trying" to have a baby - she didn't want to have that conversation so she said she didn't know and I just thought all those people were idiots. I guess I thought it just happened?? I remember for awhile thinking if a man and woman slept in the same bed naked and kissed then she would get pregnant because that's what I saw on TV lol
Edited for clarity

@KSMcClary The same type of how babies are made story was popular in my elementary school, too. I was grossed out that my parents had done that and did not plan to have any kids if it meant I had to get peed on.
@doxiemoxie212 That is insanity about the electric company. And of course I remember Hey Dude. I had crushes on all the boys and wanted to be all the girls.
@purplg8r That's a score on that stroller! Sorry it doesn't look like this cycle is it, though.
@vllux33 I'm the same about the damn trigger. I spent all of last IUI cycle wondering if the trigger shot ever takes a long time to work. This one I'm Googling if there are times it doesn't work at all. I was all jazzed to quit temping but now I regret it, too. Have an awesome time at the concert!
@mispanda I usually get tenderness and creamy CM at 4 DPO. I get the CM because of the progesterone suppositories but not having the tenderness is bizarre. I'm sorry for your BFN. Hopefully the meds are just what you need.
@JBcakes08 You should move to Oregon, where they don't even allow you to pump your own gas!

@purplg8r My mom went to a garage sale a few weeks ago and picked up a really nice stroller, baby swing sleeper, and little red tricycle all for $35. It was a great deal, but also makes me nervous that she already bought it. But when there is a deal, sometimes you just go for it. I told her she can't tell my DH and just keep a hold of it until the time comes.
@kiki75 Are you not testing yours? I'm pretty sure mine worked because I got a false positive HPT and a +OPK at the same time the morning of my IUI. Or are you googling whether it doesn't work but still gives you false positives? I thought I'd be less BSC because of the IUI and meds, but nope!
@kbamomma33 Sorry for your BFN. You're not out till you're out, but definitely frustrating. This is why I'm not sure I want to test this cycle once I know the trigger is out of my system. We're going to see Tool. H is a BIG Tool fan. I didn't used to like them, but I've warmed up to them over the years.
@vflux33 It's definitely in there. I did a HPT the day of the trigger just because it's nice to see a +. I still had a good shadow of a line last night, too. I'm just so weirded out by the lack of some of my post-o symptoms that I'm driving myself crazy with wondering if you ever trigger and just hold onto the eggs anyways. *eyeroll* It's nuts. It's going to be a long week.

@kbamomma33 Sorry for the BFN. I hope next cycle is yours. AFM, my dog's anxiety during storms is no match for the thundershirt. A little Benadryl goes a long way though.
R/R: I'm late to the party because I have been so busy! But it's been a good day! I am moving here even though I don't have cross hairs because I triggered, and I've had 2 high temps so I know I probably ovulated 2 days ago which was 42 hours past trigger.

@nitnat007 Enjoy date night!
@pebbledam Yes! I had the same confusion about the newspaper machines!
@kiwi2628 Yeah, things seem pretty bleak on the political front right now...
@Augusta108 Have a fabulous time at your conference!
@holly321 Sounds like you have a nice day planned... I hope all goes well despite your lack of sleep AND, GL with your testing tomrrow!
@nitnat007 What are your plans for date night?

Month/Cycle: 6/6 (2/2 AL)
I want to say math, but I was thinking simple math like times tables or algebra, unlike some people we know (ahem, @kbamomma33). I memorized well, and got A's in my HS math classes, but I never really "got" it, KWIM? But as a grown up, it makes a lot more intuitive sense.

R/R: Rant: It stormed badly here last night and my poor dog spent most of the night freaking out. You'd think after 14 years, he'd get the hang of thunderstorms. Rave: I got Stephen Fry reading all the Sherlock Holmes stories (six volumes!) for one Audible credit! It's priced at $55 so if you have any Audible credits, it's a steal.
CS/Q: big temp spike today = fighting the BSCs
GTKY: I've always been a very literal person. When I was a young kid, I took "you can be anything you want to be when you grow up" literally. So I wanted to be a pony. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

@kiwi2628 I think a lot of us feel that way when we read the news
@Augusta108 Have a great time! I'm jealous that you get to see Rep. Lewis speak. What a legend.
@holly321 Congrats on the sale, even though it's tough to let go.
@nitnat007 Did you ever watch Mallrats? "That kid is back on the escalator again!"
@kiki75 You're right, there is nothing like walking into a clean house after a vacation.
@hedgepig Have fun at the birthday party! Sounds like it could be rambunctious.
wow, I really don't know at the moment.
@kbamomma33 mmm donut. that sounds awesome.
@holly321 good luck tomorrow!

@Augusta108 - Have fun in Chicago! Will you be riding on any trains, by chance?
@holly321 - Have fun at the library!
@kiki75 - Your mom was a smart lady! I try to get a lot of the cleaning done before vacay, too!
@hedgepig - I definitely think math makes a lot more sense now! Back in HS it just seemed unnecessarily complicated.

HAHA literally how a baby is made... had a strange conversation with my mom when I was 10 maybe... I thought guys just peed on women and that was how babies were made. I mean I was sort of close, right?
When I was 4 I distinctly remember saying the following to my mom, "Dad is a liar. He says the people in the tv aren't real. Obviously the cartoons are fake but he's trying to pretend Hey Dude isn't real! You have to tell him to stop lying!!"
PS anyone else remember the show Hey Dude on nickelodeon?
(Eta: uhhh the real name of the show I mentioned)
@pebbledam I've never papier-mâchéd
@kiwi2628 I'm with you on you GTKY answer.
@Augusta108 have so much fun this weekend!!!
@holly321 I hope everything goes smoothly at your settlement today.
@nitnat007 have fun on date night!
@kiki75 the cleaning before vacation is totally true!!
@hedgepig have fun at the birthday party!
@looeeze your poor puppy! My dog barks at everything but for some reason she's okay with thunder (but if you're in a room where she can really hear rain on the windows then she barks)
@catlady1215 boo about the rain!! I hope it clears up!!
@KSMcClary I hope you feel better soon!
@doxiemoxie212 seriously about the electric company???? Why can't they either reopen the account or start you a new one?? It doesn't make sense! If you're talking about Hey Dude! Then I loved that show!!
@Augusta108 Have an awesome trip!!!
@holly321 I'm sorry you haven't been feeling well, but that's great about the house!
@nitnat007 I totally fell down an escalator as a kid and got stitches on my chin and am still kind of afraid of them as an adult
@kiki75 Yeah I hatehatehate coming home to a messy house too.
@hedgepig Have a great time with your family!

Real footage of what was in my brain as a kid:
@purplg8r sorry about your temp drop. I have a stroller and car seat hidden away in an upstairs closet that I pretend don't exist but I also couldn't say no to, so I feel you.
@pebbledam Yay for ovulating!
@kiki75 do you normally have breast tenderness during your tww? I usually get super sore nipples before and after O but that's it.
@doxiemoxie212 that's really weird about your electric company!
@purplg8r sometimes you can't pass on a good deal! I don't think there's anything wrong with buying things before you need it
Month/Cycle: 15/14
Hmm I don't remember really much.
I know it's not an answer to the question but I remember in elementary school when I learned about sex. I was like you do what with what?!? It totally blew my mind haha.
@doxiemoxie212 I LOVED Hey Dude! I even "follow" it on FB. I'm so lame

I totally agree with you about being mind blown about what sex was.

@looeeze Aw, poor pup. Have you ever tried the thunder shirt?
@KSMcClary Guys peeing on women for babies... not too far off I guess.
@doxiemoxie212 I totally loved Hey Dude.
@purplg8r That is a great deal for a jogging stroller. I don't blame you one bit fir snatching it up.
@vflux33 What concert are you guys going to?
@mispanda Hugs for the BFN
