hey guys, I have been trying to conceive for the past 3 years or so. I have an appointment coming up with a reproductive endocrinologist but I don't know what he does or what to expect. I do not ovulate on my own and I'm getting sick of provera induced periods! (So painful!) Anyway, any input or advise is welcome. Nervous but excited to finally start this journey!

    I think he will start with some blood work and ultrasound, probably on days 2-4 of your cycle to measure FSH (hormone telling the body to ovulate - the higher the worse, ideally under 10), AMH (can be done any day of the cycle and it measures how many eggs you have left- the higher the better), AFC (antral follicle count, is the number of follicles possible to develop in any given cycle, it changes from month to month) and estrogen. Depending on your results he will recommend a treatment. I have DOR (diminished ovarian reserve - high FSH 13, low AMH 0.4, low AFC 7 to 10) so my RE recommended to go to IVF directly. But if all results are ok, he might just recommend timed intercourse for start, with clomid with a trigger considering you don't ovulate on your own. If that doesn't work he  might try IUI, and if that doesn't work you might be the "lucky" winner and get upgraded to IVF :P. 

    DOR (FSH 13, AMH 0.48, AFC 6-9)
    IVF #1 -2016 March, antagonist, 5 eggs, 2 fertilized, 3DT - 8 cell and 6 cell no frag, chemical pregnancy
    IVF #2 - 2016 June, micro dose lupron, 3 eggs, 1 fertilized, 3DT 6 cell, BFN
    IVF #3 - 2016 November, estrogen priming + antagonist, 9 follicles, 3 eggs, none fertilized
    IVF #4 - 2017 March, testosterone priming + micro dose lupron, 2 eggs, none fertilized
    IVF #5 - 2017 May, A/ACP protocol, 4 follicles out of 7 seemed to get to required size, ovulated before retrieval, converted into IUI - BFN
    IVF #6 - 2017 July, A/ACP protocol, 3 follicles one stopped growing, LH rising, converted to IUI - BFN
    IVF #7 - 2017 September, antagonist, 5 follicles, 6 eggs,  3 immature, 3 injected, 1 fertilized, stopped growing day 3
