A check in for the expecting Mom's of Multiples's and those of us who have Multiples, so we can answer any questions about a multiples pregnancy, etc! Sorry I forgot to post this yesterday and I didn't see that anyone else posted one, so here's this week!
How far along are you?
Any appointments this week/last? How did it go?
Have you felt the babies move yet?

Re: MoM's of Multiples Weekly Check In 6/21
GTKY: Do twins run in your family? (Get used to being asked this question!) I seriously am asked this anytime people see me with the twins! But it is a curious question and I get it. We actually do not have any twins in either of our immediate families and because they are identical they are not genetic! Just luck of the draw. That's usually what I tell people too.
What rants/raves/questions/advice? I got a call from the company that does the progesterone shots and a one month supply is over $3000. FML. My insurance will pick up half of that and then it would be on me to do the other half. Uhm no. I need to talk to my doctor, because he said it's usually cheaper if I go in and do it.
Edited to add: My twins turn 1 on Friday. I can't believe we made it through the whole year!!
@tmk0325 Happy (almost) birthday to your babies!
How far along are you?
Not yet, I can't wait!
GTKY: Do twins run in your family? (Get used to being asked this question!)
Twins do not run in my family, these were completely random and unexpected!
What rants/raves/questions/advice?
GTKY: Do twins run in your family? (Get used to being asked this question!) my mom is an identical twin but I was upfront when people asked me this question in telling them that we did fertility treatments so we knew it was a possibility. oh and on the topic of silly twin questions you'll get asked... People all the time ask if my B/G twins are identical... face palm!
@leilagphillips yah its only di/di twins that have a genetic predisposition since the genetic thing is dropping more than one egg. Also if you are really young (teens) or older (mid to late 30's) your also more likely to release more than one egg and have twins.
What rants/raves/questions/advice? When I was pregnant with the twins I watched a national geographic documentary on multiples in the womb. it was fascinating seeing how they interact and develop personality traits well before they are born. if you have a chance to watch it, it is worth it.
@tmk0325 hooray for the boy's 1st birthday!!!! it is such a milestone to get through your first year. they change so much and will change even more in the next year. its so amazing to see them turn into little people!

16 week anatomy scan yesterday went well. MFM Dr said the umbilical cords are attached to the edge of the placentas, but she wasn't worried about it and scheduled to see me again in 4 weeks. I also had my OB appt today, and brought DD with so she could see the ultrasound in action. I won't have the results back from the glucose screen for a couple days, and the drink was lemon - lime instead of orange, so it just tasted like really sweet, flat Sprite. Next appt there is in 2 weeks, just so we can get back to an alternating schedule with MFM.
Yeppers! Getting familiar with where they are positioned from all the ultrasounds has given me a better idea of who's moving. I assume they don't move all over, A is lower and to my left, while B is higher and hangs out on my right.

Yes, but I didn't know they did until after I found out. My mom has 3 cousins with twins, so not really close family. I was completely surprised!
What rants/raves/questions/advice?
Not twin specific, but we're flying tomorrow. What pregnant perks have you experienced? I'm hoping to soak them all in!
Raves: my vacation totally just started. I'm off until July 5th!! Hallelujah!
@tmk0325 Happy birthday to them! My DH and I celebrate kid's birthdays as keeping them alive for another year!
@leilagphillips I try to keep my mouth shut when someone comments on my husband's ability to make twins.
@wabash15 Don't you just love seeing them move all over?! My DD and DH couldn't believe they moved so much.
@leilagphillips I hope SDD really loves seeing the US

@tmk0325 Happy Birthday to the twins! Dammmmnnnn that's a lot of money for those shots!!
@leilagphillips Gkad you had a good appointment. It's so fun seeing them moving around in there!
haha @wabash15. People always miss that identical means IDENTICAL. As in, they can't be boy/girl. It's a hard concept to grasp, apparently.
@KathrynJ088 Im so excited for your boy/girls twins too! Let us know what/if any pregnant perks you get.
How far along are you? 12+5 WOW!
We had our NT Scan yesterday and met with our MFM doctor for the first time. He basically layer out everything that could go wrong with TTTS, etc, so that was fun. I'm not going to worry about anything until I need to, though. I'm feeling very zen about the whole thing, which is awesome. Babies look perfect and have no signs of downs or trisomy 18 at this time. All great news!
Not yet. I confirmed for sure that I have an anterior placenta, so it'll probably be a while.
GTKY: Do twins run in your family? (Get used to being asked this question!)
haha no. Although my grandma tried to say they did and my mom called her out about it, saying that that was in like the 1800's. Lol. Ok grams.
Move been asked this question by literally everyone who knows we're having twins. It's already getting old!
What rants/raves/questions/advice?
So we put an offer on a house in the burbs, where almost all of our friends and family live, and now we're just waiting to see if we got it. The sellers had to sleep on it. Ok. It's crazy because we currently live in a realllllly competitive real estate market, where we had 20 different competing offers for our house and others we tried to buy last time, but with this house it's just us and one other offer. Good odds, I don't say. Anyway, were just waiting to see if we got it...and waiting and waiting.
Race is that my freaking pink eye that I got on Monday night is pretty much gone! Yay!
Thanks @leilagphillips. It's weird - we love our current house, so we'd be totally happy staying. We just love this potential house for our kids when they get bigger. If we don't get it, we'd just stay put and do it again in like a year
edited for spelling
GTKY: Do twins run in your family? (Get used to being asked this question!) Nope, these were science assisted. I'll be open with people about that and my experience.
What rants/raves/questions/advice? My nipples are KILLING me. My boobs don't hurt but my nipples are a different story. We painted the babies room and ripped out the gross carpet! Progress.
@KathrynJ088 I'm so happy for you. I just want healthy babies but boy/girl might mean that we would be done. This would be okay since we are on the infertility journey.
@breezybee Time is going by so much faster than I though it would. I hope you get the house! My in-laws are looking currently closer to us, its been okay so far but my MIL is pickier than I thought and she has unrealistic expectations on what her dollar will buy her. SIGH!
leilagphillips I think its amazing that you are taking her with you. My nephew has been fascinated by the journey we've been on with the IVF and stuff, we've been pretty open with immediate family. I could see him being a doctor. Wish they lived closer and I'd let him come to see a sonogram. His eyes would be huge!
@leilagphillips Thanks for the fun facts!
@wabash15 I'm going to try to find that documentary, thanks!
@KathrynJ088 Congrats on the boy/girl twins! That's what we want too.
@breezybee Congrats on your new home!
@stella700 Congrats on the great test results!
How far along are you?
I'm a FTM, but when I lay down at night I think that's what I feel fluttering around. I wasn't sure if it was gas or babies, but I think it's them.
GTKY: Do twins run in your family? (Get used to being asked this question!)
Nope, we did IVF and transferred two.
What rants/raves/questions/advice?
I just wish I could sleep better at night. I'm planning on buying a pregnancy pillow soon, but I need to decide on one. One question I have is does everyone have to take the 1 or 3 hour glucose test? My doctor did a regular fasting blood test and the glucose results were normal. He hasn't mentioned any other glucose tests.
@breezybee hooray for the house!
@clovelyone Yes I took the 1 hour but not till late in the 2nd trimester. you typically only take the 3 hour if you fail the 1 hour. It sounds like your feeling the twins! its so exciting!

@leilagphillips DD loved seeing the US, but they don't know boy & girl yet. She at first wanted 2 brothers, but then changed her mind and wanted a little sister too. She's going to be a great big sister!
