It's good but not my style. I think I prefer just August, but I like the nn Gus for either. I think the popularity is on the rise but not to the point that you'll hear it everywhere

I prefer August but I'm partial to that with my dad being named August. He is nicknamed Augie though.

I have a friend who named her 2nd child Augustus. They call him Auggie. Her first child is named Sullivan, nn Sully.

@pebbledam he is a character from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The little german kid who eats everything and gets sucked into the pipe after falling into the Chocolate river.

That's immediately what I think of too when I hear Augustus. "Augustus... save some voom for later."
