We're 28 weeks with a baby boy we've named Beau William. He's due Sept 3 (or 5th, depending if you ask my OB or MFM).
I have an OB appointment on Wednesday and she'll be sending me back to MFM for a growth scan as my belly has been measuring a bit behind and I haven't really been gaining much weight. She thinks it's just because of my height (6') but just wants to be on the safe side.
In terms of how I've been feeling, I tore an ab muscle which was super painful, and the added weight on my narrow frame has given me back pains, shin splints and sore heels. Ahhh the joys. I'm loving every minute of it though and so so grateful.
We're headed to Vancouver, Canada (where we both grew up) for our babymoon on Thursday and my mom is throwing me a shower over the weekend. Eric's brother was unfortunately hospitalized and just woke up from a coma so we'll be spending a lot of time with him instead of relaxing but obviously family comes first.
Hope everyone had a lovely weekend. I see a few ladies here are due right away so lots of positive vibes to all.

31w1d with my little guy. Feeling pretty awesome still - each day I'm shocked at how well I've felt this whole time, seem to be very lucky! Lots of movement from him the last few days after that little scare last week - the movements are different but maybe even more amazing - I can tell when a little bum or foot outline is sticking out. hehe. Next OB appt is next week which should just be the same old.
8 more weeks of work! The last two weeks I'm going to go down to 4 days a week since I have some vacation days left, then taking the rest of the vacay days I have to cover the 39th week and THEN I'll officially be on leave for a year! I'm getting pretty excited for his arrival and things are going to plan at work so far. We've hit our first hot day up here - 34 degrees (or 94 depending where you are) and feels like 39 (102)! Heat doesn't seem to be phasing me anymore than it would have last year so that's good! I went in the pool for the first time last night - I can't say I've really felt "heavy" but to feel weightless for a little while and roll over with easy was pretty awesome! haha
What "mommy moment" are you most looking forward to?? - I think just being able to be at home and dedicated to something/someone else - I'm ready for that. I was worried I wouldn't be, I like doing things on my own, but the closer we get the more I can't wait for him to be here!
Great to see you over here @oxinfree - enjoy your time at home this weekend. Must be comforting that you guys are already headed home and can see Eric's brother. I hated when something big like that was going on at home when we lived in the US as a kid. It's the tough part of living far away. And have a great baby shower!! So exciting!

@JWatt5 - I'm so glad that you have a lot of movement, that scare really does suck. I'm with you on the being super lucky on feeling great. I have so many friends that are PG and miserable right now
AFM - nothing new and exciting to report, which I'm happy for! I'm 33w6d this week and have a routine OB appointment on Thursday Hard to believe I'm almost at weekly appointments. I have one friend right now who was CLEARLY mis-dated, due end of month, and likely to go any day now and another one who was due 1st week of July, put on bed rest last week and is being induced Wednesday. Between those two it's kind of hit me that maybe I won't go the full 40 weeks so my to do list tonight is a lot of the organizational tips from last week - setting up a nursing caddy, I want to do a bath caddy for the sponge baths, packing the diaper bag and my hospital bag. I am 99% done with my birth plan, just a few questions for the doc on Thursday and then I'll print it out!

The heat is kicking in here on Long Island too, so my swelling has begun. I have been pretty fortunate up until now, but my ankles and feet officially look like sausages haha oh well!
Mommy moment:
I cannot wait to hear their first cry, I keep picking what that moment will be like but can't wait for it to actually happen. I obviously can't wait to hold them too, I'm so excited to wrap them up in my arms and soak up every inch of their little bodies. Finally see what they look like, and touch the little feet and hands that have been kicking and poking at me.
But I am really looking forward to watching my husband become a dad! It is really settling in for him that their will be two babies here soon and he has become so much more emotional over it lately. I just can't wait to watch his face when he holds his son and daughter for the first time. He's going to be an amazing daddy!
Welcome @oxinfree!! So happy to see you in 3rd tri!! Enjoy your babymoon
jealous of all you who are going on one, I kind of wish I planned one. I love your little boys name; too cute!
@JWatt5 you're off for a full year? I am so envious of you!!!

After a week long stay in the hospital we are home and adjusting which has been really hard on me. breastfeeding didn't pan out, DH is getting frustrated at everything he has to do for us and all the chaos around the house, hormones were ridiculous the past couple days as well. I am sorry i made this a huge story but like i said i can write the book on what can go wrong and that doesn't even touch the 4 days after delivery which were also traumatizing due to a bad nurse
@jwatt5 glad to hear this week you are feeling more movement! The movement definitely has changed. I love that I can see my stomach actually moving with her kicking!
@colleen0516 glad the babies are staying put for now! I totally understand the heat and the swelling! It's been over 90 the past 3 days and I'm starting to notice some swelling at the end of the day!
I'm 33weeks this week due with our little girl July 30th. I've been MIA lately just because things have been crazy between our shower, maternity pictures and classes! Our shower was beautiful although we found many people did not shop off our registry. I'm grateful for everything we received but some things had to be returned because we had lots of other necessity items. I don't know if it is a regional thing but we received a 10% coupon from babies r us for our registry completion but when we went to the store they said this month they are offering 20% off so that was a huge blessing! We had our breastfeeding class this past Saturday and this week is our birthing class and meeting with L&D staff to go through our birth plan. I see the OB this week for a routine visit. I have to mention to my OB that Friday night I had several Braxton hicks contractions that lasted about an hour but I think I was dehydrated and getting amped up about the Cavs vs Warriors finals game! After I had some water they subsided.
QOTW: I can't wait to just meet her. I've been picturing what she will look like and what will her personality will be like! I'm also so excited to see my hubby become a father! He is sooo wonderful with our nieces/nephews/friends children, I think he will such a great dad.
@arb425 I had a lot of random things too, I had to search where to return them too. Only benefit was I had gift cards and store credits to places that I did want things from in the end.
20% off this month is so great!! Such a blessing!

Tearing an ab muscle sounds terrible! I've never heard of that before! What were you doing?!
@JWatt5 Remember you are considered full term from 37 weeks so it could be less than 8 weeks of work!
@Colleen0516 Yay congratulations on almost 36 weeks!
I'm 36 weeks and am now officially on leave for 1 year!! It feels very odd and I love my job and am struggling a bit with the change of not being a professional. I am making the most of being able to nap!
Had a CTG this morning and little one's heartbeat was fine again so seems like she has sorted that out!
My back has been playing up which worries me that it'll be a problem when I go into labour so I went to the chiropractor yesterday. Fingers crossed it helps!
Other than that I'm feeling very lucky about how good I'm feeling. I'm in the southern hemisphere so it's winter and I'm happy to be carrying around a little hot water bottle!
QOTW: After all l the problems getting pregnant and all the issues she had had stop far I just want to hold her in my arms and for her to be safe and healthy!
I'm also really looking forward to watching my partner becoming a father.
Oh and I really want to breastfeed. I know it won't be easy to start with but I really hope that we can make it work. I think it's something to do with infertility - I just really want my body to work as intended!
Wow that sounds like a traumatic experience! I'm so sorry it was so difficult for you and no wonder it's taking a while to recover! But the important thing is Emily is healthy (and gorgeous!).
AFM, I'm 39 weeks and still pregnant. I'm hoping to have the baby soon! I'm definitely ready. I have an appt tomorrow and the doctor wants to check me to see if I'm dilated at all. I know it doesn't mean much but maybe it will give me hope that this will happen soon. At my last day of work yesterday the ladies got me a little surprise basket of baby stuff which was very nice and unexpected.
QOTW:
I can't wait to see my DD finally become a big sister. I know she will be great and very loving. It will be awesome to watch.
BFP Oct 2011 - DD born July 2012
TTC again since July 2014
First IUI 9/26/16: BFP!

It's a girl!
Born 6/26/17, 9lb 5oz
@nellin-2 - I was laying flat on my back and went to sit up. Not thinking I used my abs to sit up exclusively. I felt a sharp snap on my upper right ab below breast and then pain reverberated down my oblique. Not fun. I've since been told to always roll to the side and push up with arms. Good to know... a little too late, haha...
Thanks all for the well wishes on babymoon and brother in law
ps. missed the QOTW:
I'm really most looking forward to seeing Eric become a father. He's so excited and I beam watching him play with our pup, I can't imagine how my heart will burst watching him care for our son.

@Colleen0516 - yes a year...I'm very fortunate, like @nellin-2 that I get a year off and also get some income support. I'm currently planning to take that time but may go back early - we'll see. Those of you going back a few weeks or months after you really inspire me. Anytime a new mom here tells me that I "can't" go back to work "early" (9 months), I think of you ladies because you are making it happen and will be stronger while you do it. I hope that the US will someday start recognizing the needs for recovery and time that's best for new mothers.
@nellin-2 - I know!! I keep thinking that...and trying not to get my hopes up lol. I have this strange feeling he's going to come as soon as I go off on vacation the week before but that maybe just wishful thinking.
@ARB425 - I've been getting braxton hicks for a while now. I get it if I need some more water, or if I've just emptied my bladder or bowels!
@oxinfree - I hope it starts feeling better for you and again, enjoy your time home with family and friends. So deserved!
@kdanjou - hope your appointment goes well and you get some good news! You're almost there - very exciting!
Edit - as I re read what I typed, I realized it make no sense sometimes...I lost my brain today I think.

@JWatt5 Sounds like you have it planned well
I worry about people who expect to go into labor on their EDD and are completely shocked when things don't go to plan - only 3% of babies are born on their due date!
I'm 36w4d with my baby boy and we are doing well. I'm still super busy at work training my cover and now starting to get the house in order to pack up! I had my first weekly visit last Friday and the heartbeat and fluid was good. Cervix was still long and closed, so not coming this week! My next visit is this Friday, I'm wondering if there will be any change as I spent a few hours on my feet Saturday.
QOTW: So many things! I really just cannot wait to see him for the first time and hold him. Like others, I am also excited to see DH become a father, I think he will be great.
i actually told my husband this morning that I need these babies to come so I can get some sleep hahahaha

@colleen0516 how has your blood pressure been? Definitely increase your water intake, elevate your legs and try soaking your feet in Epsom salts. It can help reduce the swelling. This heat wave we are getting definitely isn't helping anyone with swelling!
I drink so much water every day, I can't live without my water cup. I think it's just the heat and weight/pressure from being 36 weeks with two babies. My blood pressure has been perfect all along so I doubt it's preeclampsia. I go to the hospital today for presurgical testing so I am sure they will do my blood pressure at some point, if not I have an OB appointment tomm. Mornings start good, my tops of my feet are puffy and a little swollen but my ankles are normal- as the day goes on, the become massive.
I try to lay with my feet up, but then the babies dig into my ribcage and it hurts so bad; I was in tears yesterday and I have a high pain tolerance. Pretty sure they bruised my right ribs. So then I need to stand for a little to bring them down out of my ribs, and then my feet swell lol It's just the cycle I'm in until these babies make their appearance!
@kelrauh it really is preparation! Every nice as I'm peeing (8 times) I say to myself, this would be so much more rewarding if I have a cuteness little baby to look at while I'm up lol
i don't mind the lack of sleep, but I hate the bladder being full and the discomfort at night.

@Colleen0516 that does sound miserable to have to deal with all the swelling. Hopefully it doesn't get any worse. She's in my ribs a lot too, so I can sympathize. Congrats on making it this far with the twins though! Such an awesome accomplishment!
AFM, work had again been hectic. I'll just skip the update this week and catch up next. Lol. Only thing new is that I noticed I started leaking colostrum. Feels way too early for that!!
He also is considering a natural birth, he said let's see what the babies decide to do!

Found out I was positive for MTHFR Gene Mutation during TWW of IVF #4
We went to our birth navigation meeting last night. I was so happy we went because we discussed a lot of our preferences and were able to ask some more in depth questions. We toured the entire unit, went through the admission process, and met with some of the staff. I'm hoping we in the end meet the criteria for the water birthing suite. Our hospital only allows your to labor in the tub,no birthing but I think it would be relaxing and good for pain management.
Tomorrow is our 8 hour birthing class. Not looking forward to the all day affair but it will be nice to learn some additional techniques to try to have a natural birth. I feel fairly prepared at this point but extra knowledge never hurts.
Laboring in a tub definately does sound nice. I feel like the warm water will help with contractions! Hope you get that suite!
