Also, @EmilyLove25, congrats on your husband's new job. And yes, yes to the house cleaner! DH told me I should get a house cleaner during school (homeschooling) and I'm totally going to take him up on it. Can.not.wait!
For the first time in my LIFE, I didn't pee all over my hand and/or the cup when giving my urine sample at the doctor today. So...I'm kind of dominating at life right now.
Scarlet fever is very much alive and well. It's just a strain of the type of strep that causes strep throat. DD1 has zero traditional symptoms, no fever, so sore throat, no strawberry tongue, no white spots in her mouth, the rash isn't prickly and very, very itchy (which SF isn't usually itchy.) We were shocked when she tested positive for strep and honestly, the dr just ran the test as a precaution. She didn't think it was SF either.
The poor kid is still miserable. She's missed three days of school this week and came home sick twice. (Obviously, before the dx.) She's been on antibiotics for over 24 hours and could technically go back to school, but she's so itchy it's pointless to send her. Being out in the heat makes it so much worse. Nothing we've tried has helped the itching and the antiobiotics/Benadryl/Advil is starting to get to her stomach. We've been mixing up yogurt with smoothies- I even splurged on flavored Chobani (I usually just buy plain) but she's just had enough. Of everything.
@EmilyLove25 Congrats to you and your hubby! That "make life easier" perk sounds awesome!
@schaze What is this Amazon baby box and how do you get it?

@aimsforyou2014 you have to have Prime (or the free trial), but you make a baby registry with them! They have categories and each one has to have at least one item from it on your registry, and then you or someone else has to spend at least $10 off of it. Once that purchase has shipped, you can claim the box! Since this is #2 for us and we don't really need anything, I made a phony registry, bought some onesies for $11, and claimed the box after they shipped! The best thing in the whole box was the swaddle blanket. I saw somewhere that it's valued at $12.99 and I got it for free! My box also had 3 different diaper brand samples, 2 different wipe samples, 2 kinds of disposable nursing pads, a bottle, baby wash, and lotion.
Target also does a swag bag when you register in-store. It wasn't as great as the Amazon box, but it had a ton of coupons for formula, diapers and maternity clothes that I used. I do know those change quite often, and lots of stores are out of them, so when we went in to make DD's registry I called ahead and asked if they had the bags. I think BRU does a swag bag too, but we didn't register there.
Full disclosure guys, I'm a total couponing/thrifty/free stuff junkie
@schaze@aimsforyou2014 When you make the Amazon registry you have the option of checking off boxes on the Amazon checklist of categories of things you already own and/or don't need. So you don't necessarily have to add things from each category!
@schaze Thanks for the Amazon info! I am contemplating registering at BRU just to see what the swag bag includes. I ended up being VERY grateful for the MAM paci in the Target bag last time.

That free MAM pacifier saved my life. DS loved it. That's the only brand he wound up liking.
Went to motherhood maternity yesterday and got two pair of shorts and a swimsuit. I asked the cashier if I could get a goodie bag since this was my first time shopping this pregnancy. She did not want to give up that bag. Another lady in the store, who I presume was the manager, told her to just give me the bag. I love all the freebies.
I need to go in and edit my amazon registry so I can get the free gifts. So glad @schaze told us about that.
We announced to DH's grandma a couple of weeks ago when we "moved out". We stayed with her for a couple of months while we prepped our property to live on and of course, I got pregnant during our stay. She's obviously very excited, but she suggested to me that I come over one day and use her tablet to facetime DH's cousin's wife (who I am pretty close to and lives out of town) so that she (Grandma) could be in on it when I share the news. I kind of blew it off, but now Grandma is texting me about getting DH's cousin's wife and I together this weekend. My gut reaction is NO. This is my news, not hers and I've waited almost 6 years to share it. I'm going to do it when I damn well please. Bitchy? Or reasonable??

@SouthernMs the MAM in that bag was the only paci DD would take in the first few months! Probably the best thing in that whole bag IMO.
