@slaven Poke around the non-maternity sections of Target too! The 3 by me have a pretty poor selection of maternity stuff, but the normal women's and girl's areas have cute dresses and tops that will definitely work for most of pregnancy.
@mariposa_767s To get the target welcome bag, do you do the registry in person and then pick up the bag at customer service? Or can you do an online registry?
Omg I'm so nervous to go to the dealer. DH says if anything seems funny or if he's not comfortable, we'll walk away and go with our next best offer which I agree with because this is the biggest purchase we've ever made, but I hope it's all fine and good and we can be DONE. Just hoping they give us that 0% APR. We have great credit so they better.
Guys, Amazon welcome box is so legit. Full pack of Huggies wipes, lots of diapers, advent bottle, and a cute gender neutral swaddle! I really expected it to be mostly coupons but it's actually a lot of STUFF!
We just test drove, it was nice. Now we're waiting forever to finish up. Eye roll.
The wonders of velcro! Hoping to share a laugh to get everyone through the week. She wandered around the house for 5 minutes, clueless about her stowaway, before the dog knocked it off.
I just found out that the day care which is best in my area has a 2 year waiting list. Two years!!??? @^@$#&^@&^. I mean how do you plan for something like that? Like let them know that you more than likely expect a baby in 2 years. Its insane. ...Well basically, they only open up spots every 3 months but so many people apply that the actual wait list goes up as much as 2 years. I cant deal. And BTW the place is as expensive as a nanny!

The place we are sending our kids when we move used to be like that. We got lucky and called right as they decided to build another center directly across the street. We barely got into the new place. It's crazy how quickly some fill up! And, TBH, I don't even see what all the hype about this new one is - it's just the most convenient to our new apartment.
@ShePersisted that's insane. I didn't know when I wanted to have a kid two years ago! Even if I had, I wouldn't have had any idea when I would've been successful!
@ShePersisted That's the standard for my area, and I'm still flabbergasted how that works. Daycare centers also cost $2,000-$2,500 per month for an infant.
*TW loss mentioned* We put ourselves on the waiting list for a daycare where my DH gets employee preference on his position on the list. We got on the list in Dec 2015 for our first pregnancy that was due Aug 2016. After the MC, we forget we were on the list. We *finally* got an email in April 2017 that a spot would have opened up THIS month for that baby... This daycare also only has spots open up ONCE a year. It's insane! *End TW*
I'm starting to get concerned about what we'll do for daycare here. So many people go with nanny shares for this reason.
$2500-$3500 is pretty normal daycare pricing for our area. The place we're going with is $2500/month for infants. We found one other that was half the price but it looked half the price, if you know what I mean. We were more comfortable sending LO to the pricier one. No idea how long the waitlist is, they didn't tell us but they better be free by the time we need them!
Yeah this day care in our area is close to 3K a month which multiple holidays scheduled and spring break. But the ratio is maxed at 1:3 which makes me happier as compared to other places where it can be as high as 1:5. We did a nanny with my son and I may still go with a nanny for the convenience but I hear so many horror stories about nannies in my area that now I am not sure. I wanted to register just in case we dont find someone we really like. Some moms swear day care is much more effective for the child's social skills but I just feel a child especially under one year old needs more individual care. Maybe the daycare does a good job and I just need to experience it.
Ouch. I can't believe how crazy expensive daycare is... and it's not covered at all or anything? Isn't enriching the minds of young children important to the government because of like... the future ?
@bcashaw If you asked my very Republican (single and childless) uncle his answer would be that a mother's place is in the home and if I can't afford to work and pay daycare I should stay home or shouldn't have chosen to have kids... :eye roll:

So I just looked at my unit's annual leave calendar (which is a google calendar) and one of my high-achieving coworkers actually put the location (address and all) of where he's staying while on vacation. This calendar is just so we know when to expect people to be out of the office. We don't really care where they are. He's not an important guy that someone might need to get a hold of in an emergency or anything....just...wanted everyone to know where he's staying I guess?? *eye roll*

Stuck in the box
I just vomited in my mouth a little when I read this
My random of the week is that I feel like I have become a lurker! I diligently read everything, but I hardly feel like I have anything to contribute. My mood is definitely in a funk these days, and it needs to snap out of it.

I feel the same. I try to post every now and then but I'm struggling with the motivation. I love this board and catching up on everything, just don't feel like I can contribute anything relevant.
So a friend of mine from highsChoo l randomly messaged me tonight asking for girl advice (i probably haven't spoken to him in over a year) anyways after the advice part was done (she's leading him on he should tell her he can't be just friends with her but respects that that's all she wants so has to cut comtact) he goes " I asked her to go see ed sheeran with me, but now I guess I'll just sell the tickets" and I'm like YOU HAVE THE ED SHEERAN TICKETS THAT I WOULD SELL MY SOUL FOR. So hopefully things work out and he sells them to me
I really like it when people throw in random thoughts. Just putting it out there. If something is going on in your life, feel free to divulge us, even if it's off topic
Re: Weekly Randoms 6/12
DS1 is 7. DD is 1. DS2 is coming in late April.
@slaven if you do a baby registry, there's a coupon in the bag they give you for 10% off maternity clothes
Um...Not sure why TB thought this was important enough to post twice...

@slaven welcome back! Glad your trip went well!
@Carla I'm not sure. I did mine in store at customer service
