Anyone getting their DH/SO something for their "first" Father's day? Maybe I'm crazy...just thought about doing something small and cute to celebrate this time for him, but no ideas!
I thought about it. but I told DH he didnt have to get me anything for Mothers day and he didnt. Jerk, I know I said he didnt have to but I still wanted something! Especially since our 4 legged animals used to get me something for Mothers day. But nothing this year! So I still am getting him something small but not from the baby. Its from our 4 legged kids.
This is not his first father's day, but I did get him something when I was pregnant with DD... a framed US picture with some notes on it etc. This year I was going to get him running shoes but I think we need every penny in my checking account for closing, so he might not get them lol.
I'm not -- I am only 7 weeks and god forbid anything go wrong, I don't want my husband's first gift to have come from a loss. I am a teensy bit superstitious with this. With that said, I told him flat out I wouldn't be getting him anything so that he didn't expect anything and he said he didn't and totally agreed with my rationale.
DD was only 1 day old last father's day. We were still in the hospital so he didn't get anything. This year he is getting a super dad t-shirt, a framed picture of DD for his desk at work (he doesn't have a picture of her at work) and a good bottle of Scotch.
For my husbands first Father's Day with DS1, I got him a cheap tool box and filled it with diaper changing survival kit gear. A gas mask, tongs, rubber gloves, sanitizer, wipes, diapers, air freshener. It was hilarious. And it was all under $30.
Not DH's first Father's Day, but I got him a really nice neck/back massager. We don't really do "baby-related" gifts, because that's not our thing, but there are some cute ideas on Pinterest! Although, now that I think of it, I got him a really sweet book for his birthday that was "from DD." It was called, "My Dad Loves Me." They read it together all the time.
When I was pregnant I didn't get DH anything for Father's Day because he didn't get me anything for Mother's Day. I realize how petty that is but I don't care. Lol DH is a horrible gift giver in general so because of that, we have agreed not to go overboard with gifts on holidays. Nevertheless I think he's going to love his gift this year. I got him a T-shirt that says "the original" on it and DS one that says "the remix".
Whoa thanks for this reminder! I just ordered a video game he wants that was on his Amazon wish list. At least I hope he still wants it! Amazon prime to the rescue. Might take him out for dinner or pick up some wings at his favorite wing place too.
I LOVE the tool box diaper kit , that is hilarious!! DD waa also born the day before Father's Day last year so he didn't get anything either . I was in a bit of a daze and honestly didn't think about it . This year I got him "pony up daddy" .... google it I think it's so funny and DD has a onsie that says " I'm your Father's Day gift " mom says your welcome I don't think I am going to get him anything else
DH likes to fiddle with stuff so for Christmas last year I got him some small metal models to make. He's really into planes and is getting a couple more from DS for Father's Day. We try not to go too overboard on holidays and gift giving is just not either of our fortés..

My twins were like a month and I got them those onesies. He and everyone else thought they were great!
@ecolton01 Totally bookmaking that onsie for next year's father's day gift!
DH surprised me with flowers, ice cream, oreos and a card for Mother's day this year. It was so unexpected and sweet! I want to keep it simple for father's day this year. I'm thinking a handwritten letter/note (as DH hates cards) and a small gift. I haven't quite decided what gift yet, so keep the ideas coming, ladies!
@cyanope I love that book! DD actually "gave" it as a Father's day gift last year, and they read it all the time together. So sweet.
This year I think I'm just going to have DD put her hand print in DH's sketchbook, if I can sneak it away. I have an outline of her hand in my planner (we we're playing with pens one day, she loved outlining her hand) and DH is jealous lol so I think he'd like something in his sketchbook.
@dcamp18 I got DH "The Baby Owner's Manual" the first time I was pregnant. It's hilariously written like an instruction manual and is such an easy read and has great info. I even got some use out of it! Plus it's cheap on amazon. Lol
