It's GTKY Tuesday!
Was this pregnancy planned, or...not so much! I know we did something sorta similar with "your pregnancy in five words" but I'd love to hear a little more of your story and how you ended up here. The journey, the struggle, the victory, the surprise, you name it!
And because I adore polls. Was this pregnancy:

Re: GTKY: Planned Pregnancy?
Planned. DD is almost 3 and I'm no spring chicken so I wanted to get started on #2. We started trying in January and got my BFP at end of April.

I feel like our story to parenthood is super strange, lol!
After DH and I had been TTC for over a year with no success, we decided to become foster parents. Our thinking was this: while we are waiting on God to give us a family of our own we can be a family for some kids who need it. We did respite for a while and then took a placement of a 2yr boy and 16mon girl, siblings 11 months apart. They were a *handful* but we loved it!
I got PG with DS a while later, 3 years after TTC. We had done a plethora of natural fertility things but had not used medical interventions yet.
We ended up being able adopted the sibling set a couple years later - YAY!
In March of '16 we had a MMC. Through that time we had been TTC. After a year, we started talking about adopting again and were actually just getting ready to start to process when I got my BFP. Looks like God had another idea for now. We love the idea of adopting again and maybe we will someday.
@schaze Pretty much the same thing for us.
A little more back story. Our DS is 22 months. We knew we wanted another and were so excited when I found out I was pregnant with #2 in September of 2016. Unfortunately, that was an ectopic pregnancy and I had emergency surgery at 9 weeks in October to remove my fallopean tube and ovary. It was traumatic. I had doubt and fear that I would ever conceive again.
We decided that we weren't even gonna try for a while as we dealt with the loss and didn't want to stress. In April, I started my dream sales job so we decided that we would definitely wait to TTC so that I could deliver the baby after I had been at the job for a year. I work in a very male dominated industry and job protection through FMLA is very important to me. We were even using condoms during my window of conception to make sure I didn't get pregnant.
Anyway, for Mother's Day weekend we were going away to Atlantic City, I was packing and realized I should probably pack some pads since my period was due to come. Then I realized it was due to come that day so I decided to just take a HPT. It was positive! I literally fell to my knees crying and thanking God. Best slip up ever. The best part is that I got my BFP one day before what would have been my due date with the baby I lost.
So, although our plans were to wait, I'm so glad that this LO is coming in January!
We had been TTC for three full years, but had had no luck, mostly because I had recurring health issues that kept making us wait. But for the last year I've been all stable on my meds and my numbers have been looking good so we were full on trying. No luck. We got referred to a fertility specialist and had a bunch of diagnostic testing done in April, and were due to start Clomid treatment in May. We only DTD one time in the whole month because we were both so burned out from trying and basically in a holding pattern waiting for the treatment to start. ...And that one time was much later than my expected ovulation period too!
So we had NO IDEA we were pregnant. The first week of May, our dog got hit by a car and killed (/cry) and I assumed I was skipping my period due to stress and sadness, which I usually am late when I'm too stressed, so even my doctor thought nothing of it! I was already 6 days late when I took a test because the fertility doctor wanted to find out where we stood on the Clomid treatment. And it was SUPER positive.
I am now 8 weeks + 2 days.
ETA: we also sold our house and moved in with DH's grandma while we prepped our property to build and then into a camper on the property since DH is doing a lot of the work. So the timing is crazy!
For any unplanned FTMs, that was me with DD... and it was the BEST thing that ever happened to me. She has made me an infinitely better person!

We got lucky in April with doing the deed one time on a whim over Easter weekend.
We dealt with IF issues for the last almost 3 years (2.5 yrs of knowing we had some issues and about 6 mos of trying before that). I got diagnosed with PCOS about 7 yrs ago so we knew that there could be issues, but we didn't expect for my issues to collide with DH's issues and lead us down the IVF/FET path. So this kiddo was planned for sure, we've got his brother on ice for the next round lol.
Together Let Us Seek the Heights
Anyway, he is in the reserves right now and had to leave for a school for several weeks and apparently we conceived the day he got back. My period was all sorts of messed up in April, so it threw off my pills.
We are excited now, just want to hear the heartbeat. For some reason I feel like there's a greater risk of this ending in a loss since we weren't trying.
It's been weird, because my son was unplanned and got in there in one shot on an afternoon where we weren't being careful. I found trying and planning way more stressful than I'd have thought.
We weren't planning on trying until next summer (DD IS 17 months, and I wanted a bigger gap). Well, we did the deed ONCE without a condom (on the last day of my period), and I ovulated a week early. Bad combo. So, here we are. The shock is now gone, and we're just totally excited.

@GraceUponGrace09 that is an amazing story, very happy for you!
@WildMagelet Happy anniversary
This pregnancy was very much planned and prayed for while we were TTC for 11 months. I had been tracking cycles using OPKs and BBT and after 6 solid cycles with good timing we started some testing. Found some issues on MHs side and he just started taking vitamins and made some lifestyle changes. The day I got my BFP was the day I was supposed to go in for my first appt with an RE. Also the day after mothers day and on the 1 year anniversary of my grandma's passing. Needless to say I feel like we had some angels help ❤

DH and I took a long break from trying with assistance. I still checked CM and timed BD accordingly though. We decided that after we were settled into the new house we would bypass more of the IUD cycles and go straight to IVF. (Our issue was MFI) May was our target Month to start the process. Shockingly... a BFP the last week in April. I was in complete disbelief... still am lol I feel so lucky.
