Why are you high-risk? Type 1 DM, MTHFR
Any additional monitoring or testing this week? I have the endo tomorrow and the OB on Friday. Thank you Jesus for the endo.. I need help.
Any concerns/news currently? I thought every 2 week appts with my endo would be overkill. But no! Things are changing constantly and I can't keep up! My blood sugars are crazy. The let go up by themselves. They spike after I eat and do not come down despite multiple corrections. I have now changed basals, changed insulin:carb ratios, AND changed my correction factor. Shit is getting real. And this is not fun. An effing salad spiked me to 200. What? I borrowed a George Foreman grill from my mom so I can basically cook myself chicken breast and hamburger patties so I can eat that all the time. I'm going to try to go low carb.. under 60g daily. Normally they don't advise Type 1s to go low carb because of ketones, but I need help.
This child is probably going through a growth spurt causing all my resistance... so she'll probably measure bigger at my growth scan next week.. and then they'll blame my blood sugars on her size when in reality it could very well be her causing my blood sugar issues... I couple of people I know had growth spurts around 27 weeks and they don't have GA so the babies size couldn't get blamed on blood sugar, and baby evened out a few weeks later. This appt is going to be painful.
Anything I can pray for you specifically about right now?
My blood sugars to come back under control and baby to be okay from the highs.
GTKY: If you were an alien visiting Earth for the first time, what would you want to do/see the most? I immediately think of the book "Calculating God", and I would want to learn about why the humans have so many different religions, visit their seven wonders, and learn about the dinosaurs!

Why are you high-risk?
I carry an antibody
Any additional monitoring or testing this week?
I started my two weeks of at home blood sugar monitoring Sunday. All I have to say is that @Sugargirl1019 I am so sorry you have to go though that every day. Numbers have been great so far so I am not concerned with GD. It is neat to see what foods trigger what numbers though and learn more about my body.
Follow up growth ultrasound on Friday. Praying babies hole has shut on its own. If not I will need to do the Echo cardiogram.
Any concerns/news currently?
N/A
Anything I can pray for you specifically about right now?
That everything looks perfect at Friday's ultrasound.
GTKY: If you were an alien visiting Earth for the first time, what would you want to do/see the most?
Hmm, I am not sure. I have to think about this one!

@JustBored10 FXed for great news at Friday's ultrasound.
How far along are you? 25w3d
Why are you high-risk? HBP
Any additional monitoring or testing this week? Nothing this week. Still just keeping track of my BP daily. I also need to take my GD test at the lab at some point.
Any concerns/news currently?
N/A
Anything I can pray for you specifically about right now? That my blood pressure remains stable.
GTKY: If you were an alien visiting Earth for the first time, what would you want to do/see the most?
Maybe I would go check out the wonders of the world. After a long trip to get to Earth maybe I would also get in some vacay time on a beach somewhere.
Why are you high-risk? Congential heart defect (mine, not baby's)
Any additional monitoring or testing this week? No. OB and follow up a/s tomorrow. Cardiologist next week.
Any concerns/news currently? It is taking a while to get in to see the cardiologist again. I swear that office always has the longest waits unless it's an emergency. The soonest appointment was about a month after I called to schedule. But, everything looked good last time so I'm trying not to worry.
Anything I can pray for you specifically about right now? My friend's baby (David) is in the NICU and could use prayers.
GTKY: If you were an alien visiting Earth for the first time, what would you want to do/see the most? I think I would be interested in watching how different forms of government work. There are so many of them and I think aliens would be surprised that one system hasn't become the default yet.

Why are you high-risk? at risk for preterm labor due to short cervix
Any additional monitoring or testing this week? I have the glucose test and OB appt on Friday.
Any concerns/news currently? Things have been uneventful since my bleeding episode last Friday...hoping to make it to this Friday's appointment without anything else happening.
Anything I can pray for you specifically about right now? No more bleeding!
GTKY: If you were an alien visiting Earth for the first time, what would you want to do/see the most? Very interesting question! I think I would want to go to a big city to observe human culture and try some of the best human food. Maybe NYC? Chicago?

Why are you high-risk? short cervix, marginal cord placement, recurring episodes of regular contractions
Any additional monitoring or testing this week? getting results from my second 1-hour glucose test, but otherwise no
Any concerns/news currently? It's been a busy few weeks since I last checked in here. Three weeks ago I ended up being monitored in the hospital for 24 hours because I was having regular contractions, which had caused my cervix to shorten further and start funneling, and they were worried about pre-term labor. Thankfully the contractions never turned active, but I was on bedrest and a medicine called nefidepine for the next nine days, before things evened out. In fact, at the end of that time my cervix had actually lengthened to 3.4 cm, which is over the threshold for what is considered "short!" My cervix was still 3.4 last week, which is fantastic, but my doctor is still cautious. So I'm still on nightly progesterone, still on restricted activity and pelvic rest, and I take the nefidepine (which relaxes my uterus when I start to have contractions) as needed. The threshold for taking it is four or more Braxton Hicks or other contractions in an hour, or any other conjunction of preterm labor symptoms with or without contractions. In the last week and a half I've needed to take it four times, but it works quickly, and I haven't had any really concerning issues.
Anything I can pray for you specifically about right now? Just that everything will continue to progress well, my cervix will stay nice and long, and my baby will continue to be healthy and strong.
GTKY: If you were an alien visiting Earth for the first time, what would you want to do/see the most? I think I'd be drawn to the big cities, especially a place like Tokyo or Beijing or NYC where there's so much humanity clustered together.
That's scary about your contractions, but it sounds like the medicine is helping to keep them under control. Fingers crossed you can stay stable for awhile!

Why are you high-risk?
Placental Abruption
Any additional monitoring or testing this week?
Well I started bleeding again today so my doctor sent me to the hospital. It stopped by the time I got there so the hospital acted like it was weird I showed up. But they monitored the baby and watched for contractions for a couple hours. Baby was happy and no contractions so they sent me home. They couldn't figure out where the bleed was either because there's still no evidence of anything in an ultrasound. Sooooo the doc today pretty much told me they're throwing a dart at what the problem is and there's no way to actually know.
Any concerns/news currently?
Not really other than the bleeding today.
Anything I can pray for you specifically about right now?
Just the usual haha thank you!
GTKY: If you were an alien visiting Earth for the first time, what would you want to do/see the most?
Hmmm... I've always thought different cultural customs were interesting. I think I'd try to see different holidays in different parts of the world.
@Breath_Easy92 I'm sorry bleeding started again and that it remains a mystery! But I'm glad it did stop, despite the hospital being like Whaaaaat are you doing here. Glad that tests came back fine. These weeks can't pass soon enough!

My repeat A/S went well. His heart looks great, which is a big relief for me. There is a higher than normal chance that he would have the same defect I do. I'm glad that so far it looks like he doesn't have that issue.
@JustBored10 I'm hoping everything goes great at your scan on Friday.

AFM,
I had my endo appt today and I brought all my print outs of sensor readings and insulin boluses to prove my points and concerns. We did end up changing everything - basal rates (though not as high as I wanted), correction factor, and insulin:carb ratio (she did more on this than I thought she would). She didn't do basals as high as I wanted because she was concerned with there being too much insulin at one time with all the changes we made. She also felt my evening lows were from me stacking insulin during the afternoon to try to get the sugars to move, so we definitely hit the early afternoon hard. All in all she didn't think I was that bad but I was like, really, look how much insulin I'm taking now to try to stay okay. And these numbers are not as pretty as they should be. So... baby steps.

GD, pre-e w/ previous pregnancy
Any additional monitoring or testing this week?
Monday I have a normal OB appointment
Any concerns/news currently?
I hoping that you guys can help me a little, I have been super MIA lately, between renovations and moving and then my two year was diagnosed with Autism it has been an interesting few months! Anyways, I saw my PCP last week and my BP was 141/70, saw my GD specialist at the end of the week and it was 141/71. I go to my OB on Monday and I'm trying to figure out if my BP is high there if they will send me to the hospital for monitoring? This happened with my son but I didn't have issues with high BP until 33 weeks so this is a little earlier. I know there are a few other BP ladies on here so I'm hoping someone will have advice.
Anything I can pray for you specifically about right now?
This baby stays safe and cooking a little longer!
GTKY: If you were an alien visiting Earth for the first time, what would you want to do/see the most?

FX that you don't have pre-e!
Hopefully i I don't have to worry about that much this pregnancy! But I have the feeling I will, just trying to stay prepared, especially with a two year old!
