Did you have an HSG after your Ectopic?

Now that my 2 cycle / 3 month window is almost up, I finally went ahead and scheduled a consultation at a new OB office. I had such a horrible experience at my old office, and at that hospital, I new for sure I wanted to switch. After my EP, the OB I saw mentioned me having an HSG once we are in the clear, before we start to TTC again.

My second period is supposed to start in like 9 days, so I know if I do the HSG it needs to be done shortly after my period ends. I guess I'm just curious if it's a "must have" or not? When googling, I seem to get conflicting reports. Some people say their OB insisted they have it done, while other's who have had an EP said they were never even told about it.

    We aren't 100% mine was an ectopic- we were trying to rule it out. My HCG levels were climbing, but not doubling. Which is A: ectopic, B: a pending miscarriage or C: 10% successful pregnancy.  So I had to get labs twice a week praying numbers would double or decline or that body would dissolve pregnancy. At 8 weeks my body dissolved the pregnancy. So I got off "easy" in that I didn't have to decide to terminate or keep going.
    I only have 1 tube so d&C or any surgery isn't an option.
    OB didn't say anything about another HSG.

    My ob didn't have me do one... he said chances are small that it would happen again since I had zero risk factors the first time. We are ttc for the first time this month after my ectopic... I'm nervous but my doctor said if it happened again on the same side that he would just remove the tube... and with 2 working ovaries I shouldn't have an issue conceiving because your Fallopian tube would move back and forth between the ovaries... ( sorry if you already know all this!!) just wanted to share what I was told. There is so much conflicting information out there. Good luck to you in whatever you decide. Sorry for your loss!

    My doctor didn't even mention it, I asked her during my follow up visit and she said it was pretty invasive and she didn't think it would be necessary because I don't have any risk factors.
    I did have a laparoscopic surgery to clear out a lot of blood when some tissue ruptured out of the end of my tube and she said my left tube looked perfect and my right was only slightly dialated from the EP. 
    If end up having a second I think I'll push for one but for now I'm trying to remain optimistic.
