Baby implanted low in uterus ?

i found out yesterday after some bleeding that the baby implanted itself low in my uterus, on or around my scar tissue from my c section. Dr said this could be a possible high risk pregnancy. Anyone else with expierence.

Re: Baby implanted low in uterus ?

  • I don't have personal experience with this, but my understanding is that typically additional ultrasounds are needed later in the pregnancy to see if implantation placement is a problem, it's hard to see how low it is this early when the uterus isn't expanded.

  • I do have experience with this!  I had bleeding in early pregnancy with my ds.  Actually I bled through most of my pregnancy with him.  I didn't get classified high risk, and I think my OB regrets it because she promptly sent me to a high risk this go around.  Not to alarm you, but bleeding in pregnancy can be a precursor to your water breaking early, so I would look into that.  My water broke at 28 weeks with my ds.  I delivered at 30 weeks.  You will definitely have more ultrasounds than a typical, so that is fun!  :)
  • @gritsmama-2 can you talk to me about your bleeding? Was that your first pregnancy? I've been bleeding today and to the hospital and they let me leave cautiously optimistic so I'm grasping at all positive stories.

I had slight bleeding with my last pregnancy, but not like this. This gets to be like a full blown "period" when I get in to see my pregnancy doctor I'm going to ask her 1000 questions. I'm already considered high risk due to 2 difficult deliveries. I don't wanna add PROM to my list too .
  • Did anyone check to see if your cervix is closed?  I wound up having a transvaginal US to find out my cervix length. My bleeding was like a heavy period for a couple of days.  I remember that episode being the worst out of al my spotting/bleeding episodes.

Yup dr said it's closed and she could see blood around my cervix, and the transvaginal ultrasound never showed any cervical concerns.
