BFP, now what?

YAY for our BFPs! Now what? As stated in my intro I will be a STM although this is my 3rd pregnancy. It all seems like ages ago now that DS is 3 and **TW** it's been over a year since my previous loss **End TW**. I've gotten my BFPs at home and blood work is pending with my GP. We don't plan to spill the beans until we hear a HB, which will be especially brutal once the inevitable MS kicks in God willing I get there. I'm thinking about Midwifery this time around, so I'm excited to explore that option. I'm specifically interested in the type of support she can offer that an OB wouldn't. Once I receive the bloodwork results I'll make my first appointment. In my nonexistent "me" time I think I'm going to crack out WTEWYE and continue Bump of course! So, other than reveling in the excitement, what's on your initial to-do list?

Starting progesterone! Yay me. Hoping for a sticky baby and kicking butt with my handmade business. I've been matching my work paycheck but I can't beat the insurance I get through my day job so I'll be sticking it out for as long as I can especially since I've already met my deductible for the year. (I'm a corporate dog groomer) but trying my darndest to get it all going and by the time the baby comes I will be a work at home mama ♡ #lifegoals right?

Insurance sucks! I just declined a job I really wanted because the insurance was awful and I can't with the baby plus my sons.

Why did they start progesterone?? I was on it with my first but he was an IF baby. And the second she just did because we did it with the first. This one it hasn't been mentioned and I didn't ask but maybe I should???

I start a new job tomorrow and I took it because it would be amazing for life with a new baby and a toddler but they don't know I'm pregnant. Hoping they don't take the news hard when I get to 12 weeks and tell them. I've told all my friends and my parents. DHs parents don't know but i think they "know". I mean all I do is sleep. It's quiet noticeable. Or I'm always yawning and I look dead tired by 7pm. Definitely more cranky this time around lol toddlers don't like naps.

Morning ladies! I went to see my doc yesterday. It was supposed to be a counsel visit to get on Clomid, but I gave him the big news, so it turned into a pregnancy confirmation visit. They did a pregnancy test and took some blood. Got my ultrasound scheduled for 6/26 and I can not wait!! We are telling my parents this weekend and DH's parents next weekend.

I know what you mean @garykayla. My 8 week is not until June 29th and it seems like forever. My blood work was good though. Going back to the vampire tomorrow and Monday.

Just scheduled my first appointment, July 18th! JULY 18TH! My midwife doesn't see her patients until 10-12 weeks. Irritated to say the least, this is going to be a looooong ride.

@snoelle417 I am impatient so that would drive me nuts. I had a blood draw yesterday, have another tomorrow and a 3rd on Monday. Can't wait until Tuesday when I have a progression of numbers so I would never make it to July! Why does she wait that long?

Yes, it's terrible! I am a new patient, but she said they don't schedule until 10-12 wks. The nurse will be calling to discuss my previous loss and my concerns. Maybe then they'll have me come in earlier for some bloodwork. Looks like I'll be literally livin' on a prayer until then!

I'm supposed to have an appointment next week with a new OB to discuss potential infertility (over 35, was trying 6 months) but now I've got to call and see if they want to reschedule or if it should be a confirmation appointment. I haven't told anyone other than DH, we had a chemical pregnancy before DS was born and I want to wait a bit to make sure this one sticks.

We are supposed to be going to Barbados at the end of June for a wedding, so going to have to start telling some people since we're probably going to bail on that trip due to Zika concerns. (I've been to plenty of places recently where Zika is prevalent and haven't seen a single mosquito, but feel like it's better safe than sorry.)

Bummer on having to bail on vaca, sounds so amazing! I would do the same though, wouldn't even go to WDW and my love for Disney runs deep, just not worth the risk! T&Ps for sticky babies and the possibility of amazing baby moons.

Ok, I feel a smidge better, they're seeing me 6/26 to establish care. Then, will still have to wait 3 more weeks to see LO.

@snoelle417 My first appointment isn't until 7/24, but I'm also approximately six minutes pregnant. I think I'll be 11-12 weeks by then. The wait takes for.ev.errr. Maybe I'll read a book or something.

My back hurts all day, every day. I have a heating pad at home and in my office. Anybody else having back pain like that?

Also, had my 2nd blood draw today but have to wait until Monday to find out if it doubled. I hate waiting!!

Did they do your progesterone too? My HCG was 88 which she said is normal and in the same ballpark as yours. My progesterone was really up there. My doctor likes 1300 and mine was 1700. I'm guessing that's a good sign.

Yeah waiting until after 12 weeks for a first appointment is pretty standard where I live so I don't expect to have an appointment for a couple months. I'm expecting a call from the midwife this week to confirm that they have room for me on their caseload. I'm a repeat patient so I'm really praying that helps me get in.

As a side note 1ultrasound per pregnancy at 20 weeks is also the standard here. I am always jealous of so many of you ladies who get to see your baby's heartbeat at 8 weeks.

Tomorrrow's my first appointment with the nurse, so they'll be ordering a blood panel. Not sure if or for how long they will continue to test HCG. For now, I'll take this as a mini victory!

I go to my doc on June 29th too! I'll be about 8w3d at that point. This is going to be the LONGEST month EVER. I just want to know that everything is okay and baby is healthy.

What a whirlwind all this has been. So, I had a beta drawn yesterday, finally got my results today. 24 hour wait was not fun. Beta is 2928... I'm having a second beta drawn tomorrow to see how much it's elevated. First midwife appt scheduled for July 10th. Although I'm being followed by the Ottawa fertility clinic so I imagine a much earlier appt say in 2-3 weeks time. So excited to hear that heart beat.

Yes, silly isn't it? First draw was 5/31 so I'll pop in tomorrow morning first thing. Followed by the dentist and then a wax. It'll be a morning of torture! Hope you get yours soon!

Not sure honestly! 39 maybe? Trying to make sense of the doctor's message on mychart, but unfortunately the lab results aren't posted yet.

Did they do your progesterone too? My HCG was 88 which she said is normal and in the same ballpark as yours. My progesterone was really up there. My doctor likes 1300 and mine was 1700. I'm guessing that's a good sign.

They haven't tested progesterone yet- so Tuesday should be very telling! FX for us both!!

Got my results from Friday! Went from 88 to 330 in two days! Yay!! Have you gotten your results from Saturday yet @snoelle417?

Just came here to share mine! Went from 39 to 147, progesterone is also good. So far so good-- FX!!

Yay!!! Yours went way up too!! That's awesome! I have to get a 4th blood draw on Wednesday. Are you doing that many?

Tomorrrow's my first appointment with the nurse, so they'll be ordering a blood panel. Not sure if or for how long they will continue to test HCG. For now, I'll take this as a mini victory!

Appointment with the nurse went great! She addressed all my concerns and I definitely feel satisfied. Did more bloodwork today, but won't continue draws to test HCG. U/S in 2 weeks at 6wks+ then first appointment with the doctor at 10wks mid July. Keep me posted on your numbers!!

I have been looking all day to see if you posted! Glad to hear your appointment went well.

AFM having a 4th draw tomorrow. My HCG went from 330 to 1,039 on the third one. Nurse said depending on what my levels come back at tomorrow he may want to do an ultrasound on Friday. I'm a little anxious. She said bc of my age (35) sometimes he likes to check on things early and make sure there is nothing like an ectopic pregnancy. Now I'm paranoid he thinks something is wrong.

That's so good to hear! I bet it's nerve wracking, but it's great the doctor is being proactive! You'll feel so much better making it thru the U/S. As much as I am excited for an early U/S, I don't want it to be too early to see LO or a HB. Just need to stay positive, I'll definitely be checking in on you!
