  • 1. How far along are you today? 20w6d

    2. How are you feeling today?  Struggles?  Successes?  Feeling pretty good as this bump gets more and more prominent. I'm still not feeling kicks but am feeling more consistent movement.  Darn this anterior placenta.

    3. When is your next appointment?
June 5 for follow-up AS since this LO is stubborn and wouldn't let the tech get a good luck at his profile/head.

    4. How is your SO handling everything?  He's so excited now that we know the sex.  I was convinced we were having a girl so that apparently convinced him too.  We did our reveal last weekend where we popped a balloon over his head that had colored water in it (I knew it was a boy by then because I peeked) and he was in shock that the water was blue. Even just yesterday I overheard him re-watching the video, which is too cute.

    5. GTKY: What's your favorite dessert?
Ice cream, particularly mint chocolate chip.

  • @laeberge3 Yay for baby boys! They're so much fun! That sounds like a fun gender reveal. And that's so cute you caught your DH re-watching it lol.

    1. How far along are you today?
    18+2

    2. How are you feeling today?  Struggles?  Successes?
I'm finally starting to feel a little movement I think! I still check hb with the doppler every few days for reassurance. I'm kind of nervous about my upcoming AS that there will be problems or something, but hopefully that's all in my head. I wish the date would just get here so it can be done and over with.

    3. When is your next appointment?
    AS June 1st

    4. How is your SO handling everything?
    He's not very involved.

    5. GTKY: What's your favorite dessert?
Cheesecake! All the flavors! Sooo good, but soo many calories lol.

  • @flowerintherain I was terrified before the AS, so I hear you on that.  Hope all goes well! It's also exciting to feel the movement, and I am also still using the doppler every few days. I'm sure I will til kicks start becoming measurable.

I also can't wait to feel regular movement!!!  I haven't felt those little flutters in a day and a half so I'm definitely going to be using the Doppler after work today.

    1. How far along are you today? 19w5d

    2. How are you feeling today?  Struggles?  Successes? Tired.  It's rainy here and no matter what time I go to bed it feels like I can never get enough sleep.  But yesterday was a good day and I even made it to the gym!  So I'll take what I can get :)

    3. When is your next appointment?
    June 12

    4. How is your SO handling everything? He's great, loved the AS and is reading all the baby books -- seriously, he's read all the ones I've ordered and I'm still halfway through the first one.  I'm going to get him some kind of "Daddy's Girl" onesie for Father's Day and I already know he's going to cry.

    5. GTKY: What's your favorite dessert?
I've never been a sweets person before this pregnancy but I've never said no to creme brulee.  There's this restaurant in Chicago that does a pistachio creme brulee and it's AMAZING.

@migdala Good job at getting to the gym - keep up the good work!  My usual routine is just light yoga at home, which seems to keep my joints reasonably loose and my muscles reasonably toned, but like I have with all of the other pregnancies, I have completely stopped.  Even though I know that my joints will "freeze up" (literally, I won't be able to spread my legs for cervical checks), I am still avoiding it... So, I wish I had your will power!

    1. How far along are you today?
    20 weeks, 2 days

    2. How are you feeling today?  Struggles?  Successes?  I felt very emotional today.  This is silly but a friend used to host a monthly (and sometimes more frequent) get together at her house.  About a year ago, she discontinued it - didn't just ask someone new to take it over; rather, she said she was done even attending.  That was rough, but I definitely get it.  I just saw today that she has been co-hosting similar events with other families (none from the original group that I know of) for quite a while.  Of course, she is free to do as she likes.  But that made me so sad.  Friendships are so hard, folks.

    3. When is your next appointment?
Tomorrow!  I may be starting Makenna shots on the weekly, beginning with tomorrow's appointment, if all the paperwork went through.

    4. How is your SO handling everything?  I haven't had him at any appointments or anything (largely by mutual agreement that it was not necessary), but he seems reasonably excited about the new baby and that is enough for me this go around.  @flowerintherain How are you feeling about your SO being uninvolved?

    5. GTKY: What's your favorite dessert?
It has been root beer floats (for every pregnancy, actually), but that doesn't sound good at all at this particular moment.

  • @migdala I've been sooo tired lately, too.  I thought this was supposed to be the energy-filled trimester!  Your DH is too sweet; he's certainly more baby books than I have!

@aprilsarahjune That sucks about your friend, even if it is completely different families.  I would feel very left out.  I hope your appointment goes well tomorrow! Root beer floats sound amazingggg.

@aprilsarahjune OMG root beer floats.  I forgot they existed.  I am texting DH right now to go to the store and get root beer and vanilla ice cream.  Tonight is going to be AWESOME.
  • @aprilsarahjune I wish I could say idgaf about my husband not being involved, but that would be a lie. I'm hurt that he left me and hurt that he doesn't want to be there for his kids as much as he should. He's made his decisions though and right now family life and his kids are not his priority. I hope that one day he's mature enough to be a good father. He told me he's gonna come to the A/S next week, but I'm not holding my breath.
