MBF 5/29

It may be a US holiday but that doesn't mean we can't vent. Bitch away, ladies!

Re: MBF 5/29

  • DH passed out on the couch last night around 8:30pm (not typical at all as he's a night owl). He woke up at 8:30am. Now he's complaining he has a headache and stomach ache and should go take Excedrin but doesn't want to on an empty stomach. So, now he's laying down again doing nothing but complaining. Meanwhile, I'm getting crap done to prepare the nursery. Ugh, men!

@bumpybump, ugh that's annoying. What are you working on today for the nursery?

@bumpybump that sucks! Look at the silver lining, your nursery is underway...

My doctors office has a habit of not telling me what to expect at the next appointment so when I feed the meter I always just do 2.5 hours (the max). Today my appointment started half an hour late, they wanted to do a cervix check AND sent me for half an hour of fetal monitoring. I got to my car at the *same exact time* as the meter reader. This would have been the second parking ticket I've got there.. a monthly check shouldn't be taking 2.5 hours.

  • @bumpybump Ugh.. maybe he'll hear you working on the nursery and come help. Whenever DH is being a baby I purposely make a ton of noise so he'll hear me working on something  :D So mature

@Nxy That would drive me crazy not knowing how long your appointment is going to be. Thank god you came back just in time!

I love having the day off from work, but it's pouring outside which just sucks. We have friends coming over who are bringing their dog. It's going to be craziness with two pups running around the house since it's too wet to be outside. Ugh can't wait to clean tonight..

    Pregnancy Ticker
  • My younger dog is starting to get barky again now that it's warm outside. I'm hoping he gets used to all the people-doing-stuff-outside noises because I'm over it!
    Pregnancy Ticker
  • @SpotConlon my dogs just can't handle the squirrel in the backyard. It's not even our two younger dogs that bark at things, it's the older two who bark at squirrels, people, etc. hopefully they don't pass off these bad habits to the younger ones... hopefully your pup learns soon! It can be so frustrating always wondering if this will be the time you get a noise complaint or not.
  • @Nxy hope you + baby are ok with all of that extra checking/monitoring!
  • @OTmom3 clearing it back out since it became more of the "storage" room since we moved DD into the other room last August. Bleaching cloth diapers to get ready for this LO too.
@lewliv nursery has been done for three years since we are using the same one from DD. But it's been full of stuff that needs moved out again.

  • It's been stormy or rained every day for over a week. There are 2 days this week that don't have storms in the forecast. I'm sick of it
  • @bumpybump I am jealous you have the energy to do all that. We still have diapers out from DS, so I am going to bleach. However, I need to to destash a bit- and that I am dreading!

@Nxy glad you didn't get a ticket! And even better that your monitoring went well!

    Awww you're so sweet!!
I haven't had my cervix checked at all so they finally made me do it. Im not entirely sure why they decided on the fetal monitoring. Must be a German thing, I asked if they do NST from now till delivery and she said no so I don't get it. But no contractions or anything weird so all good I suppose.

@Kudlica27 I've gotta destash all my super girly prints and I'm being so lazy about it.. maybe one day it'll get done.

  • @Kudlica27 if it makes you feel any better, I don't plan to destash until after this upcoming LO (if it's a boy I could care less if he's in a pink or "girly" diaper). But, I have a basket full of CDs that I opened up to repair the elastic when DD was in them and well, they're still in that state. Now I don't need that many so I may sell those off once I get them fixed.

  • We have our hospital tour Saturday and I need MIL to watch DS. I know she'll probably be more than happy to, but I just don't want to ask her. Her excessive peppiness is more than I can handle right now.

@bumpybump see I felt the same. Told DH why does it matter, it's to hold poop..?? But he said anything I get rid of I can replace and I've found some super cute "boy" prints  :#

My sister in law lives with us and she is the nanny for our twins (she's 21).   The reason she lives with us is she could no longer get along with her parents (this is a very long story but she was not in the wrong).   We left this weekend and she was leaving too to visit friends.   She left after us and this was the first time we were leaving our new house.   I sat down with her and told her she needed to triple check that everything was locked.   Get home, front door is unlocked.   Then she comes home this evening with a friend after my kids bedtime not having asked if this was ok.   I was about to cook dinner in my pajamas, braless and did not want to get dressed. So in my own home I was forced to go upstairs and sit and end up ordering dinner.    I love her to death but I am ready for her to move the fuck out.   Like yesterday. Oh also I pay her 2000 dollars a month for childcare and she doesn't pay rent.

Edited for words because pregnancy is hard

@Nxy that sounds super frustrating! I'm glad you beat the metermaid!
@bumpybump what did you do in the nursery today? Sorry the hubs was out of commission.
  • We bought train tickets last week for my husband and son. We were supposed to receive texts about delays and such. Today, we get to the station, and wait...and wait and wait...and I finally call and they say, "Yes, there is a delay, the train will be here by 11:00." It was supposed to leave at 8:32. No text updates, no email updates, nobody at the station to answer questions because it was actually closed for the holiday...

...so the train gets there at 11, only for us to be told the train will only take them the the next stop (about 30 minutes away) and from there they'll be put on a charter bus to travel the rest of the way home...about 4-5 hours.

I get that things happen, but we did NOT pay for a bus...we paid for a train. And the complete lack of communication was infuriating!

I'll be calling tomorrow asking for refund or at least credit toward another trip. they got home 3 hours later than they were supposed to...and they said the bus was suuuuuper uncomfortable.

@tova24 I'm quoting myself to answer you since I already answered your question above

  • @nxy & @bumpybump DS has been in pink diapers. I am only selling off some prints that I don't love because I have more than enough for two. It also seems as though DS might not even be in diapers when the new LO switches to one size.  :/
