Trying to have a baby for 4 years with fertility issues

Hello my husband and I have been trying to get have a baby for 4 years. I was diagnosed with PCOS and my husband had surgery on his one of his testicles when he was young. He had a condition called cryptorchidism. I am on metformin 1000 mg a day but I don't think it helps my cycles are irregular and I think his count is low. What are our options I know seeking medical advice is best but I don't know where to start... Would buying an ovulation kit and a supplement for his count be helpful or is this just not going to be very helpful? Thank you for your time

    My ex had surgery when he was little and we ended up having to do IVF with icsi. I would have your husband call his primary and ask for a semen analysis, talk to your OB for a referral to a reproductive endocrinologist and see what they say in the consult. Make sure you bring or send over the semen analysis for them to have at your consult. Don't waste your money with opks, if you have pcos they should be able to get a lot of info from your cd3 blood work. Unless you just want to know if you actually ovulate on your own. Which if your husbands semen analysis comes back normal they will probably try a medicated cycle. But really try and get in with an RE they are amazing. I hope that helps. Good luck!

    You need to see a doctor and get referred to a specialist.
    An ovulation kit will give you an idea of when you ovulate (if you do) but it's difficult with irregular cycles. And if your hubby has sperm issues a supplement most likely won't do much.
    Best option is see an RE and get the ball rolling :)

    I agree with both ladies above.  Your first step needs to be setting up an appointment with an RE and getting the semen analysis done.  Both will give you a better picture as to what is going on and what your best course of action will be.

    Thank you everyone for your replies I'm going to consult with my PCP and go from there for a referral as far as my husband I know he needs a semen analysis but he's sort of embarrassed I will support him though thank you again
