What was your recessional song? star wars theme song (it was a surprise; my husband is the biggest fan so i didnt tell him ahead of time that's what i chose)

What about your first dance? oh god, this one is embarrassing. we couldnt agree on anything so we ended up doing six pence none the richer, "kiss me" to be silly 90s kids. sigh

Everyone stood up to the beginning music from harry potter (Hedwigs song- you know in the movies that music that plays right as the words 'harry potter' come on the screen?' yea...those 16 bars', and then as I turned the corner it went to the piano music from Pride and Prejudice.

What was your recessional song? The rest of the piano music from Pride and Prejudice

What was your recessional song? "Signed, Sealed, Delivered" by Stevie Wonder

What about your first dance? We had two "first dances" one real first dance to "The Way I Am" by Ingrid Michaelson and then another to open the dance floor after dinner to "I Cant Help Falling In Love With You" version by Ingrid Michaelson.

Any other special musical moments from your wedding that you want to share? (Special dances, etc.) DH and SIL did a salsa dance. Not choreographed or anything, just dancing to the music but man my white Irish family was impressed

What song did you walk down the aisle to at your wedding? "Wraith Pinned to the Dust and Other Games" by Of Montreal. Yeah, I know. We're not hipsters, I promise. It was kind of an inside joke because the chorus of the song says "Let's pretend we don't exist. Let's pretend we're in Antartica", which is so "us," but no one else got it. They were all like, "what a strange choice...?"

What was your recessional song? "Mishto" by Gogol Bordello. Because it sounds Jewish (was a Jewish/interfaith wedding), but also fun.

What about your first dance? We don't dance, ever, and we weren't about to start at our wedding.

Any other special musical moments from your wedding that you want to share? (Special dances, etc.) There was some drama about the music but I shared that a month or so ago in a different thread, and I'm going to assume that's not what this question is really asking for, so I'll just say "no".

We had a really small intimate wedding (just the four guests - our parents). So I just made a playlist on my iPod of wedding/marriage/love themed music. For our pre-ceremony cocktails and the "processional" (it was really just the group of us walking from a group of trees to out altar) we had a couple of musicians that our coordinator knew that played classical guitar. It was really pretty and nice, but honestly I have no idea what they played (I was too distracted to listen!).

We had a string quartet at the church and a priest who didn't care about secular music. Yay!
What song did you walk down the aisle to at your wedding? I shared this one last week, but a string version of Dashboard Confessional's Stolen (totally made me start crying because I started singing the lyrics, in my head, as I walked up the aisle.)

What about your first dance? "I Just Knew" - Better Than Ezra

Any other special musical moments from your wedding that you want to share? (Special dances, etc.) DH danced with his mom to some weird song that was written specifically for a mother/son wedding dance. super cheesy.

@JennyColada Yay for small weddings! We used an iPod playlist too! I made one with beachy music (we had a small beach wedding) and we just put it on shuffle at our reception because we only had 30 people there.

My dad and I danced to James Taylor's Sweet Baby James. He always sang that song to rock me to sleep when I was little. So. many. emotions.

There was a beautiful organ at the church we got married at, so I went the classical music route. I walked down the aisle to Charpentier's Te Deum prelude and our recessional was Handel's La Rejouissance ("The Rejoicing"). They both sounded glorious on that organ and I got a kick out of entering to such "grand" sounding music! I felt like a royal bride!

We had a playlist of our favorite rock and pop love songs for the reception (which was just cake and punch, no dancing), but our best man forgot to start it and honestly, no one noticed. Not even us!

My aunt and cousin play in a Celtic music band, so they did the music for the ceremony. I can't remember what the song as I walked down the aisle was, but the recessional was "Mairi's Wedding." It was great!

Rosie and the Originals "A Thousand Stars"

Any other special musical moments from your wedding that you want to share? (Special dances, etc.)
We just put together a playlist of music we liked and let it play/DJ'd it ourselves and it was great! We built a dance floor and strung lights all around, so it was pretty magical

(Special dances, etc.) We walked into our reception to the music from the Star Wars at the end of a new hope where Luke and Han get medals for blowing the death star. We actual received medals and one of his groomsmen had a chewy shirt and he acted like chewy.

(Special dances, etc.) our unity candle was done to Now I See the Light from Tangled, our sand ceremony was done to Somewhere Over the Rainbow by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole, we got introduced at our re emotion to the beginning of the Main Street Electrical Parade, and we cut the cake to Fantasmic.

**we got married at Disney so most everything was Disney related

@hedgepig We overlapped a bit! I lived in Corvallis and then Portland 2007-2009. I think I saw Gogol Bordello in like 2008? I could be a bit off. My life in Oregon was regrettably brief. I LOVED it there.

That would have been such a weird coincidence if we were both at the same concert--close though!

We had a City Hall ceremony, so no music there.

We had DJ Spotify for our reception (aka a Spotify playlist I made a week before). It has a little bit of everything- Postmodern Jukebox, classic rock, Top 40s stuff, The Lonely Island, DMX, Dolly Parton, Frank Sinatra. I don't even remember dancing. I do remember drinking.

I had a traditional Catholic ceremony and was given a list of songs to choose from so the ceremony music was all traditional. However, it's also the kind of music I would've wanted played at my wedding regardless

What was your recessional song? Mendelssohn's Wedding March

What about your first dance? "Look at You Girl" by Chris LeDoux

Any other special musical moments from your wedding that you want to share? (Special dances, etc.)The only other really special music moment was the father daughter dance and that was to "My Little Girl" by Tim McGraw. Surprisingly, my father did NOT tear up!

Is it bad that I can't remember? In my defense its been 5 years ago and I am not good at remembering songs from a day ago.

My husband was way more into this than I was. He handled the music and I picked everything else. I know Uncle Kracker - Smile was in there somewhere. I know our first dance was Bon Jovi Thank you for loving me. And he did play his guitar and sing me a song at our wedding (I am a horrible wife because I cannot for the life of me remember what it was).

@kiwi2628 I wish I had thought of Hedwigs song!!! I would have totally fought for this one.

The Wedding March (so cute, DH teared up hearing it at our meeting with the organist, so after that we had to go with it!)

What was your recessional song?
I do not remember at all. It was a classic on the organ and the above mention of "Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring" sound familiar, but that could have been the processional instead

I LOVED the song I used to accompany our slideshow. It was "Come to Me" by Goo Goo Dolls. I wanted to use Anything for You by LUDO for something, but DH thought it was weird. Boo!

We went into town hall expecting to just pick up our wedding license but when the clerk asked us when we were actually getting married we just looked at each other and were like "Can we do it today?" It was a random Tuesday and I was wearing a pink maxi dress from Forever 21

I think DH and his mom danced to the same cheesy song @Avrilmai was talking about. She told him to pick but then his dad called saying she kept listening to this song so DH switched it and surprised her. My dad chose "have I told you lately that I love yoy" by Rod Stewart. We aren't a mushy family so that meant a lot to me. We were introduced to Signed, Sealed, Delivered by stevie wonder and cut our cake to "till there was you" by the Beatles (that was my first choice for first dance because I love Broadway and the Beatles but my cousin used it 2 months before, just out of coincidence). We also planned a "just for us Dance" played in the middle of the set list but where no one would be watching, everyone would be dancing together and that was "stay with you" by John Legend

@vflux33 @hedgepig - Another devoted Gogol Bordello fan here! I've seen them 4 times, in 3 different cities. My sister and I have been known to plan trips around their tour schedule.

What song did you walk down the aisle to at your wedding? Well, there wasn't really an aisle to walk down because it was raining so we had to move everything inside to the reception area. But my dad fetched me from the bathroom I used as a dressing room to Vitamin String Quartet's version of "Maybe I'm Amazed".

What was your recessional song? "You Make My Dreams Come True" by Hall and Oates

What about your first dance? This was probably the most difficult decision we made, we debated for months! It ended up being "You've Made Me So Very Happy" by Blood, Sweat, & Tears. But because I wanted to be unique and I'm incapable of taking anything seriously, here are some other songs that I wanted for our first dance:

Mott the Hoople - All the Young Dudes
Foreigner - I Wanna Know What Love Is

I come from a big Ukrainian family, and my in-laws had no idea what was about to happen to them, so it was very appropriate, haha! We played a lot of random dance music from the the 60s onward, but the majority of the reception was 90s rap and R&B. Most of it definitely inappropriate for the occasion, like Missy Elliot "Work It" and Naughty by Nature "O.P.P."

What song did you walk down the aisle to at your wedding? I wanted canon n d so so bad, love it. But the power went out and didn't come on till half way through the ceremony. So no organ. My cousin sang me down the aisle so it wasn't awkward silence. I was so flustered I couldn't even tell you what it was now.

We got married on a cruise ship before leaving Port. It had an AMAZING disco and it was the only place we could get a DJ. I picked most of the music and the DJ filled in here and there. Lots of fun songs (no chicken dance!) the whole floor lit up and EVERYONE was up and dancing.
The most special moment for me though was the father daughter dance with my step dad. He has only cried three times in the 15 years he has been in my life. Once when I asked him if he would do the honor of giving me away and another when we danced. (Now I'm emotional)
