Re: Weekly Chat ~May 21

  • What are you looking forward to this week? It is almost summer - only a few days left with students :)

What are you dreading? The craziness that will insue this week. Lots of loose ends to tie up.

Have any goals/things you want to get accomplished this week? Finish packing up my room

    Random thoughts? None right now

GTKY: What was your first car? My first car I ever owned was a Honda Civic. I loved it!
  • What are you looking forward to this week?
I have a doctor's appointment on Wednesday and am hoping for good news. My levels weren't quite where they wanted this week, so fingers crossed they are up to par Wednesday!

    What are you dreading?
I guess my doctor's appointment, haha. I have gotten super sensitive to the blood draws. They hurt every time lately. :(

Have any goals/things you want to get accomplished this week?
    Survive. 9 days to summer!!

    Random thoughts?
All this extra estrogen doesn't agree with me. I am so nauseous and can't sleep well for anything. I keep telling myself it will all be worth it, and that it will get worse before it gets better. Sigh.

GTKY: What was your first car?
2000 Chevy Cavalier, 2 door. It was a cute little car that did its job well, for both me and my sister!

  • What are you looking forward to this week? Getting through to Memorial Day weekend!! :) We're going out of town and I really need a few days away.

What are you dreading? The sheer amount of work I have to get done before we go.

Have any goals/things you want to get accomplished this week? Just staying on top of work so I don't feel like I have to work this weekend.

Random thoughts? I just tried Halo Top birthday cake ice cream, and YUM! It's not super creamy, but it tasted really good, high in protein, and lower in sugar!
GTKY: What was your first car? A 1988 Chrysler New Yorker. A giant behemoth of a car. But seats were super plushy! (note: not actually my car, but this color and everything!)

@easttxmamas Good luck at your appointment hope you get the news your hoping for. You got these lat nine days!!!

What are you looking forward to this week?
Just having an easy and relaxing week. Starting a book, though I haven't decided what yet.

    What are you dreading?
Basement RENO starts tomorrow. I'm nervous about whats going to happen when they demo the fireplace, i'm afraid of what is or isn't behind it :/

Have any goals/things you want to get accomplished this week?
Get DS out to play most days.

    Random thoughts?
I've been off BCP a month almost and I am breaking out like crazy. I have never been a person that gets zits. Maybe one every 6 months and I've had 3 this week...errrr. This didn't happen last time.

GTKY: What was your first car?
1983 Ford Escort. The car was older than me. I killed it after a few months, not on purpose but I melted the motor from lack of oil

  • @easttexasmomma - FX for good levels at you appointment. I'm sorry the meds are being rough on you :( Woohoo for 9 days! Almost there!!
@catlady2015 - I hope you have a relaxing trip. I have not tried the Halo ice cream but I am curious about it - a lot of my friends have been posting about it on FB and they seem to like it.
@kindbytealikat - I hope the reno goes smoothly and quickly. I have had breakouts lately too but I am still on BCP so I am not sure what the deal is - it sucks :(
  • @glitzandglitter @catlady2015 I really like halo top cookie dough, didn't like cookies and cream as well. Birthday cake and pistachio are my next tries

  • @glitzandglitter Yay for being almost done with the school year!

@easttxmamas Good luck at the appointment! Is there anything they can do to help with the sensitivity for the blood draws, or the nausea?

@catlady2015 Have fun on your getaway! I've never tried the Halo Top. I've seen it at our store, but just haven't tried it.

@kindbytealikat Hopefully the reno goes well! I use an oil-free Neutrogena wash when my face starts to look like it's going to break out. I dunno if that's something you'd want to try, but just a suggestion!

What are you looking forward to this week? I'm seeing my doctor on Thursday. Hopefully I'll either get confirmation that the pain in my hip is caused by a lipoma, or that she'll at least relax my restrictions so that HR can find me a stupid position.

What are you dreading? Nothing I can think of, off the top of my head.

Have any goals/things you want to get accomplished this week? I'm hoping to make a decent amount with Uber this week. We'll see what happens.

Random thoughts? Driving is exhausting. I was only out for about four hours today and was so tired that I came home and passed out for about twelve hours.

GTKY: What was your first car? It wasn't really MINE, but I drove my parents' 1976 Chevy Nova. Eventually, it died, because at that point, it was at least 24 years old (I turned 16 in 2000). My first car that was actually and legally mine was a 1997 Ford Explorer. We traded it in a few months ago because it would go forward in reverse and reverse in forward, had bad alignment, needed a new transmission, brakes, and AC, and the front windows wouldn't open. Now we have a 2001 Olds Alero that my parents sold us for cheap and a 2013 VW Jetta Sportwagen.

  • Looking forward to next weekend and painting my sons (soon to be) room! Can't remember if I've mentioned this here or not, but my mom is moving to AZ (in MO currently) and we're going to move into her house. We plan to fix it up some and sell it for hopefully a profit! We've been going over and cleaning/repairing for a couple months now. So this weekend we took off my old wallpaper border, cleaned out all my crap, and got the room ready to paint!

    Dreading...nothing I guess?

    Goals/accomplishments...again, nothing?

Random thoughts: I have an interview Wednesday morning. It's for a different position within the same bank I currently work for, just completely different than what I'm doing now. I'm nervous, excited, scared, and still so unsure about potentially taking this position if it's offered, but I think I've decided that if I get offered the position I'll accept. It would mean set hours, pay increase, and less commute time. What's holding me back most is emotional stuff. I love the people I work with, and I'll have to move to a different branch for the new position. And, I'd have to make my son change daycares. I LOVE his daycare and hate the thought of him leaving!!! But, it would be out of the way completely if he were to stay there. Just big changes and I'm not great with big changes when it means giving up things I love.

GTKY: Same as @glitzandglitter!! Honda Civic! Mine was a 2002 and was maroon. I loved that car and cried when we traded it in for a Jeep Liberty. But I ended up loving the jeep, too, lol.

  • @glitzandglitter Yay summer! I hope that you have a good last few days with your current students!

    @easttxmamas 9 days wahoo!

@catlady2016 Mmmm Halo Top! It definitely is "different" from regular ice cream, but I agree it's very tasty! The mint chip is probably our favorite.

@dreamscapes_ good luck with Uber! Don't forget car snacks. :P

@CecilB93 wow that sounds like quite the project(s). Great job! We need to paint a room in our house (thankfully no wallpaper to take off). Give me some of your energy please!

What are you looking forward to this week? I'm taking a personal day Thursday and my regular day off is Wednesday, so I'm looking forward to a mid-week weekend!

What are you dreading? Getting a "no" from HR about the position I applied for. But it could be a "yes", so who knows. Really just dreading waiting all week and not hearing anything!

Have any goals/things you want to get accomplished this week? I'd like to do more reading on my book (I'm about 75% done). I'd also like to make a paper flower bouquet (or at least get started on it). I downloaded some patterns so I just need to print them out and put them together.

    Random thoughts? n/a

GTKY: What was your first car? 1984 white Volvo. It was also the car that drove me home from the hospital when I was born (my parents bought it when they found out they were pregnant).

  • What are you looking forward to this week? Seeing my mom continue to recover from surgery

What are you dreading? Seeing my mom continue to recover from surgery (it's a very difficult and painful recovery for her)

Have any goals/things you want to get accomplished this week? Get things back on track from the last week.

Random thoughts? Just living the dream

GTKY: What was your first car? Stock photo, but a sweet 1993 teal 4 door saturn sedan.

  • @glitzandglitter Almost over!!!
@easttxmamas What levels aren't what they want? FX for good news on Wed.
@catlady2015 Hope you have a good weekend away!
@kindbytealikat Let me know what book you decide on, we should have a BOTB book club!
@dreamscapes_ Good luck at your appointment, keep us posted!
@CecilB93 Yay for new house, you should post pics when you're done with his room.
@JennyColada When do you expect to hear? FX for a "yes"

  • @LivingTheDream FX for a quick (and easy) recovery for your mom. I know it's so difficult to see our parents in pain. Lots of hugs!

RE: the job, I have NO idea when I'll hear back. Our recruiting department is notoriously slow.

  • @LivingTheDream I restarted The Complete Sherlock Holmes Collection today. I've never finished it and didn't make it to the library today so I'll read some of those. I think I'm going to try a Mary Higgins Clarke novel my mom, retired librarian, thinks I'd really like her.

So I mentioned in my post that I had an interview today for a different position within the bank I currently work at. Well, the interview went well!! They said it would probably be a week or two before hearing an answer. About an hour and a half later, they called and offered me the position!! I know one other girl applied, but not sure how many more did! I'm so excited and nervous and sad all at once. Now I have to find a new daycare because our current one is completely inconvenient with the new position and the move  :'(

I was a Mary Higgins Clarke junkie a few years back.

  • Welllllllll. First off, I have been totally MIA and I'm sorry!
Wednesday's appointment my levels had risen, but my uterine lining wasn't looking great. They want 3 layers, as well as 8mm thickness. The thickness was higher than last week, but the layers were breaking down. Needless to say, I had a meltdown in the office and was so thankful DW was with me. They wanted me to come back today so the doctor could do an ultrasound and see it firsthand.
Today's appointment was crap. Well, I mean, productive, but crap. My lining IS breaking down AKA my body sucks and is not responding to the hormones. My estrogen also dropped from 385 on Wednesday to 315 today, so this FET is officially cancelled.
Now, we wait for my period and start over again. Dr. Yeh is amazing and I know I am in good hands, but this sucks. I feel like my body isn't any good at the one thing God made it to do: have babies. I am praying for peace, and am getting there. I know it will happen in His timing, even if that isn't my timing.

Plus side: if we transfer next cycle and get a BFP, I don't have to give state tests next year!! Wooooooo!!! (Teacher friends get it.)
  • @easttexasmamas - I am so sorry :( I can't imagine how upset and disappointed you were that your FET was cancelled. I am saying a prayer and crossing all my fingers for you for next cycle. I'm glad you had your DW with you. Hugs

On a side note - a BFP would be the best reason ever to not give state tests :)
  • @easttxmamas I'm so sorry for how this week has gone. Hugs
