Are you doing anything for your SO for Father's Day? If so, what are you doing? I don't want to do anything major, but I think a small gesture would be nice. I haven't decided what yet, though. Share your thoughts!
I might just say "Happy pre-Father's Day", DH isn't big into celebrating himself and I probably won't be able to convince him until baby is actually here.
Plan to get DH something, just not sure what, if I get something it will probably be a tool he needs or something. He usually doesn't want much for gifts and typically asks for tools to work on our house with.
I'm torn after the whopping *nothing* he did for me whether to return the favor or go for a major guilt trip by going overboard. (I love my husband, I promise!)

I'm working on Fathers Day this year and I feel horrible because it's his first actual Fathers Day. I know when he had a part relationship with a child involved they made him a card and this pregnancy is his first child. I'll get him something, practical

This. So much this. I'm in exactly this spot right now.
@zigzag8412@Baycamp I told DH in April that I was getting him something and he said he had ideas for Mother's Day. I ended up getting nothing and had to request that we go out for breakfast. I'm not really upset by it but kind of hurt because I preordered him a tactical baby carrier that he wanted and was hoping for the same effort. It's already bought and shipped so there's not much I can do.
DH surprised me with a mother's card and massage, so I plan to get him something. I just have no idea yet. I am really bad at gift giving...like really bad.
Past bad gifts:
Christmas gift: A toaster oven (he really likes toast!) A birthday present: Milkshake maker (he loves milkshakes)
I thought they were practical...DH thought I was a little crazy
@dragonfly87-2 You sound like my husband I got a trash can for Christmas. But in his defense it's a really nice one and I had been complaining about the one we had.
I'm with you @BayCamp and @zigzag8412. Torn between sweet revenge and killing with kindness.
I do really want to get him and my daughter a pair of those Dad and Me matching socks from Target though. They're just so cute.
@ooodalollly Man after my own heart right there! I love practical gifts. When I was 17, I asked for a vacuum and a Hope Chest for Christmas to start preparing for moving out.
If only others shared the appreciation and your husband and I have for such gifts
DH decided that he now has a passion for the ukulele and he went out and bought himself one last night. My father's day gift to him will be not killing him ... this year.
Eta: DH is the biggest sucker when it comes to buying gifts. Pretty sure he just goes into Pandora every occasion and is like "hey I'm vulnerable!" And let's them sell him things. One year I got a heavy porcelain sleigh for Christmas. Apparently it was limited edition or something... thanks?
I just ordered DH a shiatsu shoulder/neck massager and also a scalp massager. I wanted to get him something that helps him relax. Last year DH was on rotation in Korea so we didn't get to see him so I got a coffee mug with our kids photos on it and some of his favorite coffee.
Well I didn't get anything from my hubby for mother's day but i plan to do a special card with his son (my step son) and I'm debating on wether or not I should make him wait thw ten days to find out what the baby is. I'll find out on the 8th hopefully and even tho he'll be there I've asked him to step out when it comes to finding out so I can surprise him but don't know if I should tell him before or on father's day. He's kinda grumpy about my request but I had wanted to surprise our family and friends with the pregnancy but everyone seem to already know so I want to surprise someone!
I love practical gifts, and DH sucks at giving them. Example: my big present for Christmas this past year he got me $100 gift card to a nail salon. I don't get my nails done, even pre parenthood it was only for weddings. I don't LIKE to get them done. Now I have a toddler so even if I wanted to I couldn't. The rest of my gifts all came from that aisle at Walmart with the gift sets, like the stuff you buy for the secret Santa at work that you don't know terribly well lol
DH and I already have a DS so we of course buy gifts for Mother's Day and Father's Day. This year he got me some personal development books, which I love! He also got me a necklace from Lisa Leonard with both of my son's names in it. Another name can be added (they are charms) so I'll be able to get another when DD is born.
For Father's Day I got him a collectors edition Starwars book. DH is a huge nerd and he also loves to read. He has quite the collection of books. He is also a huge astrology nerd as well. So, I am also going to get him this large poster that shows what the sky (stars and constellations) looked like on a specific date at a specific location. I thought I'd get that for him with DS birth date and the location he was born. It'll show what the sky looked like the night DS was born if you stood outside the hospital and looked up at the sky. Did I mention DH is an huge nerd, ugh.
@zigzag8412 I majorly laughed when I read your post bc I love my husband too but he did not get me a gift for Mother's Day. He did take me out to eat and get me a card, but even an inexpensive gift would've been meaningful. I decided to go overboard option and I got him a really nice wooden watch that's engraved.
We usually go pretty simple for mothers and fathers day. I will help our toddler make him a cute card, get a small fun gift, and let him sleep in as late as he wants I already make a hot breakfast every morning for us but I will probably make homemade waffles or something he likes to make the morning a little more special. I always want practical gifts. I have asked for a vacuum for every gift giving occasion for two years straight but everyone keeps getting me clothes or massage gift cards. I mean those are great and all but I want a good vacuum lol
I go to him some Daddy and me type books to read with the baby, a frame to put pics of them together in, and my sister is making this for me. (it's from the Sandlot if there are any baseball fans out there).
It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*
My husband is more into experiences so I'm planning an escape the room adventure. Not sure if you guys are familiar - you do it as a couple or a group and you have 1 hr to figure out clues and get out of the room.
Will wait and see if anything pops up. I probably won't this year even tho it won't be long before baby arrives . It's just we announced for mothers day but didn't really include me in the 'mum club' so maybe its weird when he isnt dad yet. I dunno might get him a bunnings voucher since we will be just moved into our first home and he's excited about having the workshop space to have tools and equipment and wants to build a fire pit so maybe I'll get something around that just for fun also cause we don't do Christmas and gifting isn't a big poo art of festivals and them his birthday isn't till July it'll be a while before u can get him something little and fun like that defiantly the new house thing will of worn off by then
DH's birthday is in June. So, this year, he's getting a combined birthday/father's day gift! (I usually don't combine holiday gifts, but this gift is a little more pricey than the usual gifts we buy each other) It might sound like an odd gift, but I'm getting DH a very large gun safe. He has a smaller one, but we want one that can also hold all of the kids archery equipment, DS1's BB Gun, and anything that we may buy later.
@MississippiCatfish that sounds incredible and totally up my alley!! I think we are doing a murder theme- something about a murdered uncle and a lost will - I just looked it up today to start booking he's going to be so surprised.
Got him tickets to a Cirque de Soliel show for later in the summer. Hard to buy gifts when fathers day is smack in between his June birthday and our anniversary

@cwalker042 I love the constellation poster idea. Where do you have that made/get that from?
I will probably get DH a card and a small gift like new fishing tackle he wants, and those Daddy and me socks.
