We have been eating out a lot! We are normally healthy paleo eaters and I like to cook, but mama isn't cooking right now. I just eat what I feel like at the moment because it varies by the hour. I'm starting to have aversions to eating out though. For lunch, I stopped at Wendy's because it was near my lab appointment. Baby did not like the chicken nuggets. Tried some cereal just now and could only get down a couple of bites. No idea what I'm going to stomach for dinner. Veggies and homemade ranch dip was an awesome breakfast though!
BRING ON COCONUT EVERYTHING. That's my only craving so far- pretty funny since we conceived in Maui! I even started calling the babe "our little coconut" and when I called my best friend, I was crying and saying "I brought home a little coconut from Maui!!" And now I want to eat it constantly. The toasted coconut cold brew at Starbucks is my obsession, except I have to get it as a decaf iced americano with the other fixins'. I'm currently drinking coconut bubble tea. I bought the grocery store's entire stock of coconut greek yogurt. I can't get enough. I'm not having any nausea yet, thankfully, and the only food aversion I had was to some potato salad that tasted like bile to me at work But gimme allllllllll the coconut for my lil coconut!
Me: 32 | DH: 32 DSS: 5- starting kindergarten this fall! TTC since our wedding: October 22, 2016 BFP #1 5/10/2017!!! *Sadly, we lost our sweet babe on 6/19/17 at 9 weeks, 2 days. But we are made of hope, and we'll be back here soon.*
Craving carbs. Just not fried or greasy ones. The thought of either leftover option in the fridge turns my stomach, but gimme alllll the Kraft mac n cheese. The character kind, please.
In so glad I'm not the only one with MS!!! Today all I could eat was saltines, an apple, an orange, a piece of toast with peanut butter, and chicken noodle soup. I'm going to try a baked sweet potato tonight. Nothing sounds good at all today. I hope this goes away soon.
I just ate the most delicious rice bowl!! I was craving rice so decided to wip up a rice bowl with bacon, onions, garlic and a fried egg on top garnished with salt, pepper and a bit of lemon juice. Now I'm too lazy to put my plate away.
Mom to Little Miss M - IUI - Delivered July 2015 #2 - Due Jan 2018
Well its so comforting knowing that Im not alone. Ive pretty much lived off fruit. I can eat most of it no problem. Today I had dry Cheerios which helps get me to the point where I can get ready for work. Then I ate half of a bell pepper (weird I know) and cherries. I did eat half a greek wrap with chicken and oil and vinegar minus the feta (which i love) but added hummus. That went well. Most of my day I snack on pretzels, fruit and almonds. For dinner all week its been a small piece of chicken and boiled potoates. Pretty dull but it keeps my tummy happy. I eat all day literally to keep from getting sick.
@missblaze i have also broken a few rules. I had brie (but cmon we're in canada and everything is pasturized) and had a poached egg for lunch (totally forgot the well done rule) .
I am also on the caffeine aversion train which makes me sad.
I have been craving indian food all week so DH and i had an impromptu date tonight while Mimi took Dd for a date! ALL THE CURRY!
I've been trying to get back to a low hystamine diet. I was on it last year for two months and totally reset my body. The premise is fairly simple, fresh foods, no frozen or processed meals. Nothing fermented, or aged... a lot of what you may be staying away from anyways while pregnant.. it's very similar to the paleo diet except there are some things (like bananas) which are healthy but naturally high in hystamine so they aren't included. Oh yeah no sugar or bad carbs. Womp womp.. so I'm not perfect on it but so far I feel better than I did with all the crap I was eating. I make a lot of quinoa and lean ground turkey, potatoes.. and fat free cottage cheese is a staple for protein. Luckily I haven't had morning sickness so those foods don't bother me. The only downside is all the cooking I do after work.
@Baby_is_coming all that cooking is an aversion all on its own! I plan on getting organized after this long weekend and getting our little family of 2.5 on a routine, including fresh cooked meals!
I go from burpy and nauseous to wanting to eat ALL. THE. FOOD. in 10 minutes. Eating light during the day...a little chai tea to fill the hole left in my espresso - loving heart, tons of avocado, apples, cheese, some fig and grain bars... then I go nuts at dinner... red meat cravings hitting hard. Taco meat, burgers, last night I was begging for a Philly cheese steak... I'm obese and really don't wanna gain weight too much this pregnancy. I only gained 15 with my 2nd pg... is it sad that I'm ok with the nausea kicking in more?
We just got back from Chipotle at work (I vetoed Jersey Mike's and Moe's without saying that just the names made me nauseous) and now I feel like I'm so full, I could burst. I think I'm feeling more nauseous now than I was before, ugh but it was so good!
@schaze SAME! I wake up like a ravenous bear and then as soon as I eat something I feel like I am going to throw it right back up. The only thing I have found that does ok is plain cheese toast. I still get queasy but not as bad.
@amack22 and @mdfarmchick I am on the avocado train, too. It was all I could think about when I got off work last night, so I had to stop and buy a huge pint of guac.

I don't want red meat, but it's helping manage the MS. A lot of steak has been on my plate.
My between-meal snacks tend to be fruit and cheese, or fruit and peanut butter, which I enjoy more than the regular meals.
Me- 39 (turning 40 in April), TTC for the first time ever (since Jan 2015), low ovarian reserve
Married 3/14/14 to my wonderful wife, but her sperm count is rather low
TTC with frozen donor sperm and science
7 IUIs, 7 BFNs. 2 IVF attempts, both cancelled and converted to IUI, both BFNs. Decided that my tired old ovaries are ready to retire. Next step- reciprocal IVF, using my wife's eggs, my uterus! fresh 5 day transfer (2 embryos) 4/17/17- BFP! Identical twins "due" 1/2/17 (but anticipated arrival sometime December)
Uggg I've been eating McDonald's more frequently than I'd like to admit. Today I wanted to take my kids to the pool and I knew the only way I could do it was on a full stomach with some protein in there so obviously it had to be a cheeseburger. We rarely eat out so I'm trying not to feel too guilty that I lean on crappy McDonald's food while I weather this storm that is the first trimester. I also just mowed down some mac n cheese from the box. Also uncommon for me, there will be time for eating healthy later!
My problem is that food overall sounds "eh" but its not until after I've eaten something that the Snowman decides that its not good and then I feel like it's the worst idea I ever had and wish I had a time machine.
BUT today I've managed to eat the rainbow and get more calories in than I have in the last few weeks so I'm calling it a win for today.
Greasy food and red meats are weirdly settling for my stomach also. I just demolished a bunch of pot roast and it was amazing, except now I want to go throw it all up. @trudytudy and @KLake42
Greasy food is the way to go for me right now too! Just drove and got a Wayback Burger...satisfied my stomach for a while, but now I'm slightly regretting it...
Ugh, lots of easy food. Rice, eggs and toast, soup, eggo waffles. The thought of meat grosses me out, nothing sounds good. I find its hard to get myself to eat but once I've eaten something I enjoy it and feel decent.
Cheese, pickle, and mustard sandwiches are what I've been craving lately and what seems to be helping my morning sickness. I also take Greek yogurt with frozen berries to work with me everyday. Lunch is usually leftovers from dinner or lately tamales from Trader Joe's, and I put salsa on top. I need sour, vinager, and spicy stuff to help keep my morning sickness at bay. I also always have starburst and saltine crackers in my purse.
My Dr wants me to limit my carbs/sweets to prevent gestational diabetes (basically everyone on my mom's side has diabetes so I'm at a higher risk). I'm fine with limiting sweets since I'd rather have savory foods but CARBS?! I love carbs.. Bread, pasta, pizza.. carbs are a pretty big part of my overall diet so this is going to be really hard
I was fine until week 7 began and it was all down hill from there. Haven't eaten much dinner all week. Crumpets with Vegemite in the morning goes down well.... some carrots or salad and yogurt for lunch... dinner I struggle however I am 8 weeks and 1 day today and I just easily ate curry and rice.
@sbishop426 My RE put me on an Atkins type diet and it's so hard, especially when cravings hit. Needless to say I try when I can but don't always succeed.
