Testing:
Probably not until AF is missed (expected AF on the 5th according to FF)
R/R: Thank you everyone for the condolences
yesterday. Goal is to keep my mind busy today. I’m happy it’s Friday and a
3-day weekend though. Not doing anything special at the moment, but I do enjoy my lazy
weekends.
CS/Q:
GTKY: BBQ yummy!
Married: August 2014 TTC #1: February 2017 - BFP 7/28/17; EDD 4/8/18; DD born 4/7/18 TTC #2: February 2019
R/R: two of our closest friends finally got engaged yesterday! I'm really happy for them, and also really happy it's finally done and "real." They've been ring shopping like 5 times in the last 1.5 years, she chose the ring herself. They picked all their venues and booked them like, 6 months ago. They told his whole family in the country he's from that they're getting married. But now, finally, they're engaged for real in their own eyes.
Month/Cycle: 14/12 CD/DPO: 46/4 Timing: abstained then ED Testing: no R/R: Trying to strike that balance of drinking till it's pink and not going overboard on a wine tasting family weekend. Splitting some of the tastings with MH. Using ~ 3 glasses as absolute max (that's not overboard, right?)
CS/Q: GTKY: since Memorial Day is this weekend, what is your favorite summertime party food? I guess BBQ?
Testing: Not until Sunday if AF doesn't show but... cramps and spotting continue so I think today is the day
R/R: The good news it is Friday and I'm off today at 2:30! Bad news is that I felt our tile floor in our bathroom last night and there is a spot that is warm to the touch. I looked it up and Google says it is a slab leak... which is expensive and destructive. Not good news. My DH is calling our home warranty (doubt they cover it) and repairmen today to try to get someone out to diagnose it.
CS/Q: I know that we don't count AF until a full flow. However, does spotting indicate low progesterone levels? I never used to spot and then in February I started to see spotting 2-3 days prior to AF and it has continued every month. Prior to Feb. my luteal phase was about 10 days and since then it has been about 12-13 but with spotting (though I stopped BC in July and haven't been off it it since my teens so I don't remember what was normal before). I'm going to my primary physician next month and getting labs done (just regular bloodwork, not related to getting KU). I'm wondering if I could ask them to check anything in my blood?
GTKY: since Memorial Day is this weekend, what is your favorite summertime party food? I love anything on the barbecue or cooked over the fire! Just plain old burgers hit the spot DH and I are having a party for two this weekend to celebrate barbecuing and being introverts together.
R/R: I'm semi-enjoying a 5-day weekend. Vegas trip got cancelled, so I'm just home with the family. DH started feelin sick again so I'm going to have to spend the rest of the weekend tending to him.
CS/Q: None today
GTKY: since Memorial Day is this weekend, what is your favorite summertime party food? Potato Salad is my favorite BBQ side!
Timing: either 0, +2, or -1, +1 or -2, 0 (I'm including the +1 and +2 in case I O'd up to two days after my +opk) The temps that I do have indicate O on CD 13
Testing: probably next Monday since my RE appointment is on June 7
R/R: uuuuuuuuuuuuuugh I effed up at work and am trying to figure out the best way to handle it. On the bright side, I get to ride again tomorrow!
CS/Q:
GTKY: since Memorial Day is this weekend, what is your favorite summertime party food? anything that's bad for me. Mainly chips and dips, and those brats with the cheesy goodness in them are great.

@justkeepswimming8 hey we're cycle buddies! And we're both expecting AF on the 5th! Hope your enjoy your three day weekend
@vflux33 I always struggle with the drink til it's pink but not overdoing it. FWIW, the book Expecting Better details that the speed in which alcohol is consumed is the key factor, not the actual amount consumed. So, if you can do anything to space out consumption a little bit and drink some water in between, that could help.
@beachbunnyxo123 enjoy the 3 day weekend! Hopefully it helps the TWW fly by
@jeg07 I don't have this issue myself so others may know better, but I've heard that brown spotting before AF might indicate low progesterone, but that pink spotting does not. What color is it?
@ladybugsamom Sorry you had to cancel Vegas. I hope YH feels better!
@lund Sorry for the temping fails. I don't take mine at the same time every day, which I know is bad, but I still feel like even not doing it the 100% best way I am still getting SOME info at least... Thank you for the drinking tip! I am definitely spacing it out without even trying to. All the wineries are long drives away from each other. I'll drink lots of water today and tomorrow. Have fun on your ride!!
@jeg07 I suspected the same thing about myself, but my OBGYN thought fibroids might be more likely (?? no real reason why), so I went through this whole ultrasound process - nothing, no fibroids (which, duh, because I had no other symptoms for them at all). They can only run the tests for low progesterone on CD3, so you won't be able to run the test at your scheduled blood test unless you happen to be on CD3. If I don't get KU this cycle, I'm going to go on CD3 to get my blood tested since I have a lot of the symptoms for low progesterone.
R/R: Started using OPK this cycle. I found I was ovulating about two days later than I thought. That was nice to learn. DH and I got some time alone, finally, and had a couple of BD sessions that were more than just about getting pregnant. Nice to have some sexy times as a couple that's just about the two of us.
CS/Q: I mentioned the OPK above. Has anyone else found that they O at a different time than they thought?
GTKY: I love Waldorf salad. The one with the apples and Snickers pieces. Yum!
@vflux33 3 glasses is deffffinitely fine IMO, lol. The first time we went through the TWW last August, we were in Napa and I got slammered. Though, to be fair, we also did not get KU.... so? IDK? lol #unhelpful
@jeg07 I LOVE your introvert party idea! FX AF stays away!
@SesshomaruMom I'd say that 90% of women who are TTC for any length of time eventually figure out that they're not Oing at the times that many apps predicts. This is why we recommend temping and opks.
R/R: Would have been nice to try more than that once, but we were away for a wedding, at a hotel with paper thin walls and hubbie was freaking out a little about that.
CS/Q: For any of the regulars who are trying to conceive while breastfeeding, after your first ovulation, can you ramp back up how much little one is nursing and still keep a regular cycle, or would you just suppress ovulation again? Right now she nurses about 3 times a day (AM, nap and bedtime) down from 6-7 and sleeps through the night most nights, but sometimes up once. She would definitely nurse more if I let her.
GTKY: since Memorial Day is this weekend, what is your favorite summertime party food? I love Trader Joe's potato salad. I have eaten a crap ton in the last week.
(Newbie, so feel free to flame away if anything in this post isn't kosher.)

@vflux33 I have both pink and brown spotting dang, I'll talk to my doctor next month and see what her thoughts are! Why can't getting KU be as easy as I thought it would be when I was a teenager? ha!
@doxiemoxie212 Unfortunately my appt is not until around my fertile week, shoot. I'll see if maybe I can schedule another one after I talk to my doctor for CD3. I have family hx of fibroids but my obgyn just checked a couple months ago and didn't think she had any concerns. I wonder if the next step for me will be an ultrasound? Let us know your results from your blood-draw. I'm interested to hear! Thank you for the info, by the way!
Unfortunately, AF has reared her ugly head. Off to WTO, hopefully no one follows me!
